CASHONLY! The way you order here is VERY similar to Shin-Sen-Gumi. How hard you want your noodles, what kind of noodle flavor of the soup you want, do you want onion, ginger, etc. The service was okay, it was kind of busy so I understand. The Tonkotsu Ramen was good, very flavorful, but the Takoyaki and Dumplings was not. It was very mushy, not cooked right in my opinion. Funny thing was when I was here eating, a couple of the chefs at Shin-Sen-Gumi came here to eat as well. LOL Overall, I would come back again. Just because I don’t like waiting 2 for hours for ShinSenGumi’s ramen.

My friend and I were craving some something warm and soupy after a night out in LA. As always, Shin Sen Gumi was packed so we Unilocaled our way here. This restaurant is pretty small located inside a plaza. There is limited parking outside but tons of underground parking. I must say, their ramen is actually quite tasty. The broth was very flavorful and strong. Noodles were cooked good and the mean was tender. This location may not be as popular as Shin Sen Gumi or Daikokuya, but its pretty solid and it hits the spot. There is no wait, the food is good and service is friendly.

A hole in the wall for sure! Limited seatings, so come early during rush hours or expect to wait for 30 minutes or more. Parkings always available A lot of traffic coming in and out, so there’s plenty of parking to choose from dim light setting with little or no AC. I don’t know if it was because of the fact that it was over crowded or if the AC’s broken but it was heating up in this restaurant Service was a little below average. The server didn’t care to check up on us or accommodate us when we asked for extra napkins or ordered more food. The food compensated for the lack of service tho. Ordered spicy ramen noodles — delicious, just a little to salty for me and the spice was perfect My son loved there abu ramen. *Pricing for ramen is overall is average *cash only I would come back for the ramen again. Not sure about the service or the heat (I came a couple of weeks ago & I finally had the chance to post this review.)

Fujisan is my bf and I’s go-to ramen spot. Never a long wait, tasty customizable ramen and surprisingly friendly service. There are four different types of ramen available. I always order the tonskatsu(roughly around $ 7.50) and add an egg($ 1). The broth is rich, creamy, and flavorful. And the pork is insanely good. Always good cuts of meat, little to no fat. They sear the edges so the outside is nice and crispy. You can pick the firmness and thickness of your noodles, the amount of oil, and saltiness level. Unlimited amount of garlic sauce, ginger and chili powder on the tables. The restaurant is small and extremely clean. And the wait times for food is extremely fast; I think the longest we’ve ever waited is 6 minutes or so. Cash only! Plenty of parking in the plaza. Only downside is that they sometimes run out of stuff. Last time we were there, they had ran out of egg about three hours before closing time.

Went into this spot last week with my friend who had discovered the week before and he was talking about how good it was but he had been wrong before so i wasnt looking forward to it as much. We sat down and didnt have to wait in a long two hour line like some other over hyped ramen spots on valley next to phở 54. Ordered are bowls and waited about 10 minutes and bam my spicy ramen was right infront of me smelling like heaven in a bowl. Mixing my noodles and broth i took my first bite and instantly had that last bite notion. To me when food is so good i dred that last bite because i wont have anymore, but this place has dollar extra noodles so after my third serving of noodles i was full and very very very happy. This is the BESTRAMEN ive ever had. The staff is nice and friendly and always willing to help and the food is amazing. One of the best hidden gems in the san gabriel valley. ******UPDATE******** Fujisan needs to change their weekend hours Me and my family have checked Unilocal and other sites and their hours will say open and when me and my family get there we’ll see people in there and when we open the door with the light flashing open sign on a guy in a hat will turn us away. It’s starting to piss me off. Time to change your weekend hours from 12 – 10:30pm. Other than that the food is bomb

This place is definitely a mom and pop shop, although I can’t tell which of the two owners is the mom. It comes with all the positives and negatives associated with being such a restaurant. When we got there the sign said closed but when we peeped in the owner said that they can serve us. Apparently they were running low on broth and during the course of our meal saw them turn a few groups away. Onto to the part of the review that really matters, the food! My friend and I each got a lunch combo, a bowl of ramen and a fairly large side. As other reviewers mentioned you get the option to customize your ramen with the normal options. One option they have which I haven’t had before was thick noodles. We also split fried chicken side. The food came out timely and was delightful. Great portion sizes and well worth the money. You can get extra noodles for $ 1 if need that extra push to fill that belly. In the words of the great Julius T. Caesar, vini vidi vici. We came, we ordered, we full. P. S. This one is for you Cliffbar. Get off my sack!

Definitely one of my favorite ramen places. But to be honest, I always come here as a second choice when I pass by Shinsengumi and don’t feel like waiting in a 2 hour line. Regardless, their ramen is on point. Their menu is very limited, with just variations of their original Tonkotsu Ramen, but they do that bowl of ramen incredibly well. A few things to note about this place: *There is a 20-minute eating challenge, where if you eat a huge bowl of ramen you get it free and your picture on the wall. Definitely something I’ll try to do one day: P *There is no bathroom. For whatever reason, there is no bathroom at this ramen joint haha. However, I’ve always managed to sneak in the tofu house next door in case of an emergency: D

The food itself wasn’t the best but the service was impressive. I ordered noodles cooked medium but they were way undercooked. My friend and I told the server and she took our bowls back and cooked a new batch of noodles. When we wanted to get the check, the server said it was ok. We felt bad and left a 20 at the table BUT the chef/owner chased after us with the 20 and insisted that we take the money back. I will come back here and give them another chance.

GF said her friend said the place was pretty good so we came and tried it. The service was pretty good. The ramen was awesome! They let you choose the broth, the heaviness of the soup, the noodle, and asked how you would like it cooked just like what they show on tv shows! The cha-shu was very good they put a little sear on them for a different texture and taste which were great and not burnt! The down side on the place is that they only take cash and the kitchen isn’t closed off so you would pretty much smell like ramen or fried rice after you leave. The restroom is also weirdly located two doors down inside the Korean tofu place.

Tonkotsu Ramen Broth(soup base): medium — this ended up being too strong for me. Next time, I’m going light. Noodles: al dente Oil: less(I’m not sure if this is sesame oil that they add or what, but I was like, um… I don’t want my noodles swimming in oil) I added bamboo and an egg. I was surprised it didn’t come with an egg already. Those items were an additional $ 1 each. The pork was not as tender as I’ve had at other places, but it was still good. I like how they have all the condiments on the table already — chili oil, vinegar, Sriracha, togarashi, and pickled ginger. Love that ginger. Service was great. This is a good place for a quick bite. Additional parking in basement lot.

I personally thought the Ramen was only«a-okay» but the extra star was for the service and no wait! My girlfriend and I really have no idea what to eat and as I was driving down Valley, Ramen Fujisan just came to mind since I was just talking about it with my other friend. Anyway, there was only a party of ONE when my girlfriend and I walked in. I guess it was a bit too early for dinner even though it’s already 5 o’clock. We were immediately greeted by this really dorky yet a bit cute looking waiter. He gave us the menu and there’s not really a lot of ramen we can select from. I chose the«tonkatsu» ramen– dorky waiter then asks me if I want my ramen noodle to be «thin or thick» yet it sounds to me and my gf that he was asking me if I want«thin or THIN» noodles, so i gave him a blanked look. I then said, «the skinny noodles please.» Just to make sure I will get my «thin» ramen noodles. The soup was not too salty, it was flavorful. I enjoyed it. However, the cha-shu was a bit too thick and rough, for the meat. It’s not like those fatty cha-shu that you will get at other ramen joints. My girlfriend ordered the«Spicy Miso Ramen” — Not too spicy– the broth. It was pretty flavorful as well. What I really like about this place is that the service is quick, and we got our ramen pretty quick as well– minus the fact that we were like the 2nd party there. Oh! But after 10 minutes in, the entire ramen joint was filled with customers. So I guess it’s legit. They also have this Ramen challenge, so if you finish the ramen in 20 minutes, you will be on their hall of fame. If you don’t, no worries, just pay up 30.00 and try again next time. =D Parking is a bit annoying, located in Sunny Plaza where Yoshino Sushi, A-Ri Rang Tofu house are located. So good luck on finding parking. They do have undeground parking I believe. Price is decent. I will have come back here again for that Ramen Challenge!!! There’s no girls on that hall of fame. Have to represent! haha.

The Ramen options on this menu are very limited. They only offer four types of Ramen: — Tonkatsu Ramen($ 7.50) — Chashu Ramen($ 10.25) — Seaweed Ramen($ 8.50) — Spicy Ramen($ 8.50) $ 1 for extra noodles! Toppings: — $ 0.50: Green Onions, Bean Sprouts, Corn — $ 1.00: Egg, Bamboo Shoot, Cloud Ear, Seaweed I came here for dinner with Victoria L on a cold night and she ordered a medium Spicy Ramen with medium firm thick noodles, strong broth and a little less oily with the addition of corn. I ordered a Tonkatsu Ramen with medium firm thick noodles, strong broth and a little less oily with the addition of corn and an egg. I felt like my bowl of ramen was nothing special. It was quite a flat note to my day. The noodles were a bit chewy considering I asked for it to be medium. I only got one thick slice of tonkatsu. It was not good quality meat. It was hard to chew on and not too flavorful. My friend also shares my sentiments about her bowl of ramen. Service was slow and I definitely had better ramen elsewhere so I doubt I’ll be back to this spot.

Friend decided to get a massage last night at Sunny plaza. So I decided to eat dinner while I waited for her. Location/Parking: Located in Sunny plaza. Basically across the street from SG Superstore. Limited parking in the front of the restaurant, so drive in the back where you can easily find underground parking. Ambiance: If you want a small quiet place to eat and unwind from a long day at work, this place is for you. People watching me taking me pictures of my food… Don’t watch me take pictures of food porn PEOPLE… Rude!!! Entertainment(if you dare!!!): Participate in the Mt. Fuji Challenge! 20 minutes to finish Mt. Fuji! Size of bowl is like the size of your head! Unlimited tries until you succeed. If you are able to complete the challenge, your face will be present on the Mt. Fuji Ramen Hall of Glutton on the wall, bowl is free, also get a $ 10 gift certificate, and you can’t participate ever again! If you don’t complete Mt. Fuji Challenge, you’ll have to pony up $ 30. Service: Rules of engagement with ordering ramen. 1) Choose the firmness of your noodle(thin or thick) 2) Choose strength of the soup base, 3) Choose level of oil, 4) Choose as many toppings as you want. Server was a very soft spoken man who was very friendly, polite, provided great service, and had really good recommendations. Food came out fast also. Ramen of choice: I went with the usual Tonkatsu Ramen which consisted of thin noodles, green onions, cloud ear shrooms, and a big piece of pork. I thought the bowl of ramen was good. Soup broth wasn’t as salty as the soup broth I had at Foo Foo Tei last week. The only bad thing that I would take away from this eating experience was the big piece of of pork. I would rather have it cut into smaller pieces so it would be easier to eat. Appetizer: I ordered the one dollar salad. The salad was very refreshing and It complimented the Tonkatsu Ramen really well. Would definitely come back. Less wait time= Happy Mr. John!

Not bad not bad. This place is a located in a plaza. Small humble restaurant. I think the noodles were pretty good, nothing to complain about. My friend did their ramen challenge which was pretty crazy. I’d be back if I was in the neighborhood.

Yeah. It is pretty legit. From the pork to the noodles… Tender thick morsels of protein, chewy noodles(you can to pick the the thickness btw). Service was quick and friendly… And all the extra side condiments and options are readily available. It’s awesome sauce. I think my only gripe is if you come on a busy night… You’ll have to prepare to wait forever. The place is small and a lot of loud Asian like to dine and run so prepared for those two things. Don’t go shaking your head at me either… You know Asian people are typically loud: P

I came here during a super hot day for lunch. I can still remember how hot it was because there was no AC! It was a disaster that a ramen place had no AC on a hot summer day during noon time! I ordered a bowl of ramen and it tasted just so so. They have combination sets, but I figured a big bowl of ramen was a good amount for me. Nothing much to say about the food because it was not too good. The waitress came with a smile. She was polite and friendly. Parking here is in the back of the building structure. You can drive down to the basement for more parking spots. It’s usually not packed.

I have never seen or heard of this place even though I eat at the tofu house right next door all the time! NOACWHILEYOUEATRAMEN?! That’s crazy. They keep the door open but even when I came for dinner when it was much cooler, it was still so hot inside. Not to mention, we had to swat flies out of our face and food the entire time we were eating. Really annoying. Tonkotsu Ramen($ 7.50): The ramen comes with green onion, cloud ear and 2 decent sized piece of meat. They give you options of the consistency of the ramen, soup broth, amount of oil, etc. I added some beansprouts to mine for an additional $ 0.50. Overall broth flavor was good even when i just got«mild.» Wish they also had the«combo» meals for dinner but it only happens during lunch hours. I much prefer the style of ordering at Shin Sen Gumi where you could see it on paper and pick everything so its more simple to the waitress asking everyone one by one. However, she provided friendly service the entire time and always came to refill ICECOLDWATER(thank gosh) and ask if we were doing okay. I would only come back on a cold day where AC isn’t needed. CASHONLY. Parking located in the back; underground lot.

There are options here unlike Shin-Sen-Gumi! Ramen Fujisan makes a good bowl of ramen without the long wait. Ramen Fujisan lets you choose the firmness of the noodle, soup base strength, and tons of topping options. Furthermore, they have TWO different noodle options that you can choose from(thin Hakata-style noodles or thicker yellow noodles). I’ve tried both and prefer the thick noodles. You can also order extra noodles for $ 1 which is a great deal if you’re still hungry. The staff is very friendly and helpful Pros: + unlimited garlic chips, garlic purée and pickled«red» ginger(no extra charge, yippy!) + reasonable price + broth seasoning to make broth stronger(just ask for the bottle) + great ramen noodles + awesome $ 1 side salad — refreshing and tasty + very friendly service + customize your ramen Cons: — no A/C — salty broth — lack of ambiance — CASHONLY Something to think about at your next visit: — They have the Mt. Fuji challenge, 20 minutes to finish the whole bowl and it’s free, otherwise it’s $ 30. You also get a gift card from them on top of the free bowl. Parking: there are plenty of spaces underground I will definitely come back for more RAMEN without the wait.

I came here this past weekend on a HOT summer day. BIGMISTAKE. HUGE. Spicy ramen on a scorching day isn’t the smartest thing to do, especially if there is no A/C in the restaurant. When we came on a Saturday late afternoon the place was pretty empty, really dim(lights were off with the exception to some kitchen lights and a few ceiling lights, and there was a small fan running. I’m not sure if they were trying to conserve electricity, but the place was LIKE A FREAKINGOVEN. It was super suffocating, and I could feel the heat radiating from the kitchen from where we were sitting. Aside from the painful eating experience, the ramen was decent. Not the best, but it wasn’t bad either. I ordered the Spicy Ramen(extra spicy) and it had some good heat to it. The broth was really flavorful, but a little salty for my taste. The ramen noodles were fantastic though. You can customize how soft or firm you prefer, as well as choose between a thick or think ramen noodle. You can also customize the broth on how strong and how much oil you would like. YAY: + unlimited self-serve minced garlic, dried garlic, & red ginger + good price + broth seasoning to make broth stronger(just ask for the bottle) + great ramen noodles– texture and quality is SOLID + awesome $ 1 side salad — refreshing, tasty, & cheap + very friendly service, albeit awkward + customize your ramen + SPICY! NAY: + no A/C + salty broth + awkward service(but friendly) + lack of ambiance + no beer or sake + CASHONLY.

This is one of newer Ramen in 626, I always like to eat ramen in the restaurant especially those who specialty in Tonkotsu. I enjoy eating something that is hard to make at home, that soup is not easy to do at home since require 10+ hours of cooking and a lot of preparation. Like Daikokuya and Hakata. They only offer one type of broth, which is Tonkutsu. I do had high expectation, after have some rave review of this place. The ramen was good except wasn’t as hot as I would like, you can customize your ramen in this place in the way you like Hakata. The chashu was one giant piece which was tasty and looks good. Egg isn’t included unless you paid extra. The combo rice was pretty good and decent portion. Didn’t like the salad much, the dressing wasn’t good match. The biggest complain here was the service, the server English is very limited and the issue was it got charge something not supposed to, I don’t like the type of service when they lie in your straight face and hope you forgot about it. There’s no apology instead just go back and adjust the bill. The food here is good and pretty competitive price, but I would prefer Hakata better. I felt more welcome there than here. The ramen tasted very similar between them two.
