This review is for the Honey Green Tea w/Grass Jelly. It’s acceptable, but not a home run. The green tea was somewhat bitter, but lacked the expected vegetal leafy flavor. The grass jelly was average and lacked the black liquorish-like flavor. I did order it at regular sweetness, but it was not overly sweet which was a good thing. This place is a decent back-up option when you need that 626 tea fix. Service was friendly and the place itself is clean. I am willing to come back to try the toast desserts; those looked amazing on the menu. Parking was not an issue for me as I came during non-peak hours. If you do come during peak hours, there’s parking on Valley or in the parking lot East of the tea house.

If I can give this place a zero I would. We ordered food for delivery at 12:54pm and consistently followed up for update as we are at the 2 hour wait time which I feel is already quite unacceptable. We waited longer it didn’t arrive until 3:50pm. 3 hour wait for delivery, is this even heard of? So of course my food was cold and some of the other food was drench in oil. This is unacceptable and horrible customer service. I can definitely say I would never order from here again. Word of advice, if you want to order for delivery please give it a 2 hour timespan so you’ll get it at the 3 hour mark.

Their milk tea is ok here. The tea is not strong enough. Their drinks is too sweet even though I asked for half sweeten. The boba is flavorless and doesn’t have the soft or chewy texture. +1 star for free wifi. +1 star for nice and friendly staff.

I got the roasted oolong tea and I really enjoyed the tea, really refreshing and strong in flavor. The boba I wasn’t too fond of, it was okay and typical, but not of the soft texture that I usually prefer. I would come back for the tea for sure, the other special drinks they have like the one with cotton candy looks pretty fun to try next time as well. Service was quick and an overall easy time there.

Okay, rounded up a star :) Redeemed my free birthday drink — Large Iced French Rose Milk Tea. Service was sweet and friendly. Though their machine was down, and so the server took down my name and number to punch in later when their machine was working again. Had I been turned away, I would have deducted another star. The French Rose Milk Tea looks pretty, and fragrant. Be sure to mix it up before drinking it so that the sweetness evenly distributes, lol! It was refreshing and helped numb and cool down my sore throat. Best of all, if you let the ice melt a lil, it tastes even better. Okay, I’m starting to have faith again this place. I’ll be back another time.

Following my pact that I won’t update a place unless it’s been over a year. After a lunch date at GreenZone, my friend and I decided to head here, since a) it was close by, and b) if I had recalled, Milk & Honey was decent.(I had it once in between the time I wrote my last review and now, and it wasn’t too bad). Not knowing what I want and having a nature that isn’t too picky about what is on my plate, I let my friend decide on what to order. Don’t know why he chose the waffle, but he did. The warning I can give you about the waffle, you may want to order a drink with it. The sucker was so thick and fluffy, it was like I was eating old mattress foam. It’s not a bad texture, but the waffle was a bit too thick and dry. The matcha ice cream, red bean and whipped cream helped a small bit, but just to be on the safe side, get a drink if you choose to order the waffle. Also, about accepting credit cards, a really loud customer mentioned that the minimum charge is $ 10 for the server to run the transaction.

Wanted to give this place a try rather than the usual tea house. We ordered: — orange kumquat drink: I was in the mood for bitter tea, and I got it! Comes in a little pot and they brought two little tea cups for us. — hot ginger tea(opted for no sugar). Though there was still some sweetness to it, it doesn’t overwhelm the drink, perfect drink for a chilly night and you are fighting a cough. You can taste the ginger, though I can’t imagine how sweet it would be with full on sugar. We also snacked on the fried tofu. It’s super oily and moist. Basically no salt, it’s kinda odd that they don’t have a salt-shaker! Pretty good service, table cleaned, and hot water refilled. Plenty of parking available.

I have been wanting to come here ever since I saw pictures of their adorable Honey Toasts. Too cute! My friend SZ came here for dinner one evening… and it happened to be a Wednesday evening! Which worked out really well for us because they offer an all-day Hump Day special for 10% off all entrees. Since it was our first time here, we ordered two entrees as well as both of their adorable Honey Toasts to share: – Minced Pork Stew with Rice – Sausage & Popcorn Chicken with Rice – House Special Honey Toast – Banana and Chocolate Honey Toast I know that most people will come here for their cute dessert, but the entrees were good. They offer solid Taiwanese food here. The honey toasts are of course adorable to look at. Taste-wise, I will say that the House Special is superior to the Banana and Chocolate one, although I find the Banana one to be cuter. Service here is not so great. The first time I came it was decent. The food took a bit of time to come out but other than that we didn’t notice a lack of service. The second time, however, it was noticeable. This time I came with my friend CC during her third trimester, but we happened to walk in at the same time as a large group and the server seated them first. So then she told us that there were no seats for us and we would just have to stand and wait. My pregnant friend was not happy about this. Luckily the other patrons were nicer and the large group gave up a table and a couple chairs for us since they just had to sit a little closer to each other. Since we were a group of three people, another group gave up their extra chair for us too. We ordered just one dessert, and yet service still managed to be really slow. The food here is pretty decent and the desserts are cute, but be prepared for crowds and slow service when you come here. I need to figure out when they are not very crowded so I can come back… 3.5 stars rounded down to 3 because the last visit left my friend and I a bit unhappy.

What better way to relive your childhood than with cotton candy?! Well, Milk & Honey offers cotton candy tea. Boom. Didn’t expect that huh? To be honest, it doesn’t make the taste any more amazing – but it’s still fun and yummy. It may be mostly for appeal… but it still got me. Then again I’m still a child at heart. So cotton candy does wonders for me. I would definitely recommend one. For the experience, the nostalgia and the hipster insta pic of course. 4 cause sugar high.

Ok I seriously thought I wrote a review about this place and I even have a profile picture of me with the bear toast when I came here. So it’s just a little odd that I don’t see it anymore but I didn’t realise it until I checked in here today and came during the early afternoon. I’ve now been here twice once at night before and the second time during 11:30. Both experiences were completely different from the rest which is weird. Service was fast during the early afternoon but the last time when I was here for dinner time it was really slow and dragging. I had a group of about six people and our order for food, drinks and desserts took us a little bit of time. But in the end it was nice and had some good eats here. It isn’t a bad place, yes maybe parking can be a tad bit on the harder side because you are in San Gabriel and the lot is shared with a lot of other small businesses. Also there might be a wait for your order but I can’t really complain and I wouldn’t say this place is horrible. Both times I did enjoy myself and I would say I wouldn’t mind coming back. I like how they follow holiday themes it’s also pretty cute like right now since it’s December they are doing a ginger bread style bear house thing. I haven’t tried it yet but I came in today that did catch my eye!

I have been meaning to try this place for a long time, and I’m glad I finally got a chance to try it out! I was also able to take advantage of the Amazon Local deal which is $ 12 for $ 25 worth of DESSERT/DRINKS(no food)! They do have an awesome lunch special runs until 4:00pm. Prices for the lunch special start at $ 7.95 and go up to $ 9.95 and it comes with a drink. If you come after 4:00pm, you basically just get the meal without a drink. Favorite lunch items– Taiwanese fried pork chop w/rice($ 8.95) — one of the better choices. For a tea shop they definitely do have a good fried pork chop. It’s actually better than some of the Taiwanese restaurants that I have been to! It comes with three sides which are sometimes different but i’ve seen it come with fried tofu, corn/green pea mix, and broccoli. Beef Stew Noodle soup with regular noodles or glass($ 9.95) — albeit this is a bit on the pricey end the dish was pretty decent. I have only tried it with glass noodles because I wanted something lighter but it does pretty average which is OK. My only complaint is it is a bit over priced when compared to other beef stew joints around the area. If you’re craving beef stew and end up here — it’s not a bad choice. Minced pork stew w/rice($ 7.95) — another one of my favorites here. Who would have known they have a relatively good minced pork stew here?! It comes in a medium sized bowl with tea egg. The portion is good for one person. Taste is very hearty and one of the better minced porks’ i’ve had! Favorite drinks — Green Tea & Sea Salt Green Tea are both pretty standard here. Can’t go wrong with either of them Favorite dessert(!!!) — House Honey Toast($ 14.95) — best honey toast I have had. hands down! it comes beautifully crafted/designed and usually has two scoops of ice cream(one inside the toast and one outside). It has the perfect amount of sweetness and the serving size is good for 2 – 3 people! Milk & Honey Potted Plant Cake($ 4.95) — Mmmmm one of my two favorite desserts here. It’s just a bit expensive for the size of the serving. But, it definitely tastes delicious. It has oreo crumb on top, with ice cream and strawberry cake inside of it. I haven’t had anything like it and everything goes so well together. A must try!

This is your typical boba spot in terms of the drinks offered. The upside to it all was the friendly service they provided here. Extra star for service. I had the taro slushi, the combination had bits of real taro and a powered mix with sugar. I’m not a fan of the mix, but it’s so hard to find places that just use good quality taro without the sugar. Surprisingly, the drink came out tasting pretty decent without any extra sugar as requested. The matcha tea was served again as a mix, which dilutes the matcha tea taste. The typical milk tea was really hard to mess up. Parking can be a challenge here, because there’s not enough space for the amount of vendors. We ended parking next to the giant supermarket and walked over to Milk & Honey.

I’ve grown to love this place! Amazon local had a deal on their desserts $ 12 for $ 25 worth of desserts. House special honey toast — this is such a cute dessert. You have to take a picture with it because it is so cute. Aside from it being super cute, it is also so good! It’s perfect for groups because it is a pretty big portion. I would say it is a bit on the pricey side with it being $ 14.95, but the toast towers about 3 – 4 inches high with lots of pre-sliced toast, ice cream, and bananas and strawberries. It looks very sweet but it isn’t. The fruit slices are a great addition and compliments the toast and ice cream well. Potted Plant Dessert — this also is very good! Aside from this being another great photo op, this is basically a pot of iced cream with cake topped with Oreo cookie crumbles. This goes so well with the house special honey toast. You can also add cotton candy to any drink for .50 for another great photo op. But it really is just cotton candy, nothing special, just super cute! They also have great lunch specials here as well! Their minced pork stew with rice is so good! It is a pretty good portion and even comes with a fried egg and pickled radish. Their lunch special comes with a drink. I want to eventually try their other dishes during lunch special and give another update. I’ll be coming back here soon!

An extra star for being unique. Pros: Drink wise. it’s okay. Not anything to rave about. But cotton canddyyyyy, student discounts and nice little snacks and decent drinks. Quality is pretty decent. Cons: Prices aren’t the greatest. Could use more choices drink wise. Can get crowded sometimes. Took a while to get the drinks the last time I was there. Bottom line: Try it out. See if you like it. Most of these places are all dependent on perspective.

So we found a deal on either Groupon or Living Social for Milk & Honey w/a value of $ 25.00. Something tells me that we should call and ask about what we can use it for. «Only drinks or desserts» said the girl on the phone. I’m thinking … «oh, you mean the items with the biggest mark-ups and lowest cost?» Yea, I used to manage businesses so it’s not hard to figure out what has the highest profit margin. Four of us came in to this little place enjoy some afternoon desserts & drinks. The menu has a wide variety of typical Asian sweets: fruit flavored lattes, fruity slushies w/pretty names, thick toasts piled w/more sweet toppings, some ubiquitous coffee drinks and other savory snacks such as fried tofu & popcorn chicken. Most items can be found in a number of similar Asian dessert places littered throughout the SGV. We ordered: Affagato w/cotton candy(espresso poured over ice cream). Surprisingly, the coffee was potent, bold and had a kick. We ate the some of the cotton candy separately in fear it would make the drink too sweet. Not bad! Banana Marshmallow thick toast. Basically a thick slice of Texas toast, sliced bananas, melted marshmallows and sprinkled w/sliced almonds. This is good in very limited quantities as the amount of sugar quickly made me ill. Matcha custard thick toast. Basically same slice of toast as above, with a thin layer of green paste. Absolutely no green tea flavor whatsoever. Waste of money. Waffle cup w/ice cream. The waffle was more like a cake, baked in a waffle iron. Thick and didn’t get soggy sitting in the ice cream. Not bad but again… sugar overload. An «Enchanting slush» w/berries, lychee jelly in slush w/lychee syrup. The flavor wasn’t bad at first, but again… the sweetness of the ingredients kick in and I was only able to drink 1⁄5 of it. It didn’t help they put whip cream on top Also had an order of tofu. The dipping sauce was great, the tofu(though fried) was light. But at nearly 5 bucks … huge markup! At the end of our visit, I felt really sick from the overload of syrups, sweeteners, marshmallows & whipped cream. This is an ideal place for a younger crowd like teenagers or early 20’s to hang out, or families who want their kids to become diabetic. Many of their toasts look like a cute window display at a Sanrio store and costs upwards of about $ 15.00, though it can feed about 4 people who probably don’t care much about their health. The flavor of everything we ordered was average at best, but mainly consisted of the taste of sugar, and not much else. I will not be returning. * it’s a small parking lot. we found parking on the street nearby, or park at the huge adjacent lot next door at your own risk * there’s self serve water at the counter to flush out your system, where you can also grab extra plates or bowls * make a doctor’s apt. after your visit to see if you need medical attention.

Location: The plaza is really small, and parking is tight. It’s next to Green Zone, but you’ll probably spot Lu’s Garden first. I found parking easily in the adjacent supermarket parking lot and walked over. When you enter, menus are to your right, by the entrance. You order at the register then seat yourself. You can’t miss their«order here» signs. They’re having lunch promo by giving free drinks with lunch entrée purchase until 4 pm. They have a huge menu for drinks, dessert, and food. The house special brick toast is totally IG/FB/Twitter/Snapchat worthy because the little bear is super cutee. The cotton candy drinks come pretty close too. I shared the strawberry pastry with my eating partner because we didn’t think we could finish the other desserts between the two of us. I probably won’t order that again. The mille feuille got soggy, so you have to eat it quickly. The custard and strawberry did not taste fresh. Service is ok, and it’s a nice place to get out of the heat. They’re open late!

A subpar experience. The wow factor is the display of the cotton candy on top of the boba cup. The only good part about this place was the friendly cashier. The biggest disappointments all revolve around the cost: 1) The price of their drink is already high. 2) You pay extra for boba 3) There’s a minimum credit card charge. 4) Even after the minimum, they charge you a transaction fee. I ended up paying over $ 6 for a bad cup of boba. The milk tea was so watery, and the boba was really hard. The cotton candy on the top of the drink serves no purpose other than to be instagramable and have a small snack along with the drink that you don’t really want.

I had the enchanting berry drink that was not very enchanting at all. It had lychee syrup, lychee jelly, blueberries and topped with whipped cream not a drink a recommend. I suggest the smoothie or other drinks unless you prefer sweet sugary drinks. I shared the honey mustard bee bun with my friend it was sweet from the honey mustard taste. The bun is like the body of a honey bee so cute. The desserts are really good here and we had lots of desserts that we weren’t hungry anymore. We had the strawberry milk toast bun, strawberry vanilla waffle and a strawberry puff pastry all delicious. Parking situation may be stressful here due to such a small parking lot with limited spaces you may have to park on the street and walk here. Some of the spaces are very narrow so be careful when you park or get out of your car you might bang someone’s car. The other suggestion is let all the people out of the car before you park to have less trouble getting out of the car.

After having dinner next door at Green Zone, we decided to drop Milk & Honey for a liquid dessert. We ordered the sea salt coffee, which is coffee with sea salt foam-y cream on top, and a coffee milk tea. The sea salt coffee just tasted like regular coffee and cream — nothing special and you can’t really taste the sea salt. Also, it was more sweet than I preferred, despite requesting less sweetness. The coffee milk tasted like plain milk tea — no coffee flavor whatsoever, and pre-made as usual. The menu is pretty extensive, but for the most part I’d prefer a place that had a few signature drinks that were amazing, over a huge variety that was so-so. The desserts look really cute, but would definitely destroy my macros for the rest of the day.
