This place is totally overrated! Not cheap at all with poor quality and service is bad. Will not go there again.

Bland bland bland! Very little meat in all 4 items ordered. The wonton soup and beef soup were so tasteless like water! Porridge equally tasteless… What a waste

Cash only. Parking lot/free street parking available. Sittings are almost always available upon arrival. Quick service, relatively cheap amongst other restaurants in the area. Above average noodles and rice cakes!

This is my favorite location of all the Kim Ky’s. I absolutely loveeeeeee love love Kim Ky and Chiu Chow noodles. I usually come here on a Sunday after a night of drinking or after our vegas or festival trips. This is definitely the hangover cure. I usually get the #1 or #2, but they usually ask me what kind of noodles I want anyway. Big rice noodles, small phở noodles, big egg noodles, or skinny egg noodles with either soup or dry(soup on the side) are the options. I usually get the small noodles with the soup on the side. So dry style. I personally like to ad some satay sauce and mix it together with a little soup. So good! Their kidney is sooo delicious. Since its noodles, it usually comes out relatively quickly sooooo you’re not starving forever: P. Chinese donuts also goes really well with dipping in your soup. And if you feel like you have room in your stomach, order the Fried Flour Cake with Soy Sauce & Egg. When I’m feeling a little ambitious(or have enough cash), I’ll get them. Just remember to bring cash! And also a plus, everything is inexpensive. :P

Needed a quick lunch spot and I am glad to have stopped by this place! They have really good Chinese food at a great price, so you must pay in cash. I got the #23 assorted meats & shrimp w/large egg noodles with soup. This dish is bomb! Portion is generous and it’s a perfect brothy noodle soup. I also got the cold soy milk which was only $ 1.50. This place is pacccked and they have free parking.

Anytime I’m in the area and I’m in the mood for noodles, Kim Ky never lets me down. FYI, it’s cash only! I’ve been coming here for a while and it hits the spots every time. It’s not the cleanest restaurant in the world but it’s adequate. The wait can be long during peak hours so don’t be surprised if you’re caught on the waiting list. It’s pretty cool to see all of the waitresses speaking multiple languages(English/Mandarin/Cantonese/Vietnamese). The service is pretty fast as well! I got an order of the egg noodles with wontons(mi hoan thanh) and it was delicious. I love the broth; it’s super flavorful and the noodles had a nice firm texture. There were plenty of wontons too! They definitely don’t skimp on it. Anytime I have a bowl of noodles and soup, I have to get an order of Chinese Doughnut(dau chao quay). Dip that in your soup broth and it’s soooooo good! Everything here is reasonably priced. They’ve increased their prices throughout the years but it’s not anything crazy. You’ll get a good bowl of noodle soup for $ 5 – 7. Just keep in mind that it’s cash only. Maybe you’ll pick up a lotto ticket while you’re eating here too!

I would say more like 3.5 stars! came here on a Sunday at 1pm and there was definitely a line but the wait was short for just 2 people. This is definitely a no frills type of place, you eat and then you go! We ordered the egg pancake thing(4⁄5) with fried cake(?) which was pretty good! The egg was very savory but a little pricey for the portion. Got the #23 dry noodle(3.5/5)which was good too but not the best I’ve tried. It’s standard egg noodles and comes with decent helping of meat, but only had 2 – 3 shrimps haha. The soup paired well but I had to add some side sauces to help to with the flavor because it was a little bland without it. Lastly we got the mi bo kho(beef stew)(3⁄5) which I didn’t personally like but the bf liked it. I thought the flavor was lacking unlike other beef stews I’ve tried, but I’m also not a big meat fan so maybe the dish just didn’t appeal to me in particular. Decently priced place, cash only!!! I would come back whenever I’m craving the dry egg noodles!

It was great, but not as great as you’d expect. I mean the taste was excellent, the services were great, it was just probably the wait that left me with a four star. If you ever need some place to eat and it’s a chilly weather, I would recommend noodle soup or Seafood Lo Mein, their chef takes delicate time into making it for you, even if the wait is really long. I love ordering the beef ball with phở like noodles, the soup is AMAZING, but the beef ball can be overcooked a bit, noodles are great, just the way I love it!

This Kim Ky is not as good as the one in El Monte… But it’s still pretty good. Parking sucks, but street parking isn’t too bad, I would say to save the effort to just park on the street instead of fighting over spots with other Asian drivers. #1 is their house special, get it with rice noodle with soup on the side! They are very generous with the toppings. The satay is not as flavorful here. The clear soup is on par though. The pork kidneys are also very fresh and cooked well. Service is okay, they don’t really speak English. I would be very specific with the order to avoid any miscommunication. Everything is decently priced, but be aware it’s CASHONLY!

Stopped by on way back to LA for some Chinese/Cambonian boat noodle/Viet type of restaurant. When you walk in it feels like a viet restaurant and then everyone speaks Cantonese. Started with the hot soy milk that is freshly made and then added a touch of sugar to dip with Chinese donut! Exceptional! Then had the number 1 noodle… I mean literally first option on menu with assorted meat in thick haw fun noodle… it is pretty Ching tasting… not as flavorful as in Garden grove similar restaurants but pretty good! Make sure you mix the soup with the ingredients first and along with adding Maggi seasoning before you eat if you like flavor! Ended with the young coconut agar! Pretty delish meal!

This place is Legit. I had the beef sirloin cube fried rice and the beef tendon noodle soup. Wow. I’m coming back for the other dishes. Don’t let the aged look of this place scare you away. This place looks grungy. They lock the doors with a chain for Christ sakes. But this place has an A rating. The food is very very good.

My fav noodle restaurant!!! I have been coming here for over 10 years and I have never been disappointed. This place gets super packed so be prepared to either come early or you will have to wait for at least 30 mins before getting seated. Finding parking can be difficult too but you can always park on the side street. The servers here are super quick in taking your order and serving you. They also friendly even though they are running around trying to get ppl in and out as fast as they can. My fav entrée is the dry egg noodles mixed with minced pork and veggies along with wonton soup on the side. I love how the soup always comes out super hot. They will provide side dish of basil and bean sprouts. For only $ 6.95, this entrée is enough for 2 meals and I am super stuffed. All their other noodle soup are also good too. But this egg wonton noodle soup is my fav! Tip: If you don’t wanna wait, another option is to order to go, but there is also a wait. So call in advance at least 20 mins before picking up your food.

It’s a very authentic Chinese restaurant. Servers are all older asian women and they play your Chinese music :) Cheap prices and big portions! The place does seem busy during lunch time but they keep the line moving. They serve the food quickly so, customers do not wait long. I ordered assorted meats egg noodle soup dish. The broth is amazing definitely great to cure hangovers. Also, my friend made us try the Red Macaroni with beef. I highly recommend trying this dish. It seems odd but it is so good! Plus the meat was so tender and juicy that you didn’t even have to chew. It melted in your mouth. The macaroni is a tomato based dish. I would come back and try some of their other items. They have a big menu!

This place always hits to spot. Their noodles are delicious and of generous porportions. You can pick the type of noodles you want and whether you want it dry(soup on the side) or wet(noodle in the soup). There’s this brown meat looking condiment that they have the table. I don’t really know what it is but it’s freaking amazing and I like to dump that all oveeer my noodles. I saw someone else do it back in the day so I just copied them and… best decision ever! I’ve also had their Hainan chicken rice which I inhaled. Sooooo gooood!!! Cash only. Parking can be tough in their teeny tiny parking lot but there’s street parking.

This is better than the Kim ky noodle café for sure. I normally order fish cake appetizer, its a must order! It comes with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that I sometimes do not use, but it is a good addition. Combination noodle with beef balls and fish balls– white noodles and yellow egg noodle. I prefer the noodles thick and my soup to be on the side. So the noodles are dry, but you can order the soup in the noodles made ready too. This place has so many choices of chiu chow noodles. The service is not that great, long wait period to be seated as it does get packed, food does not disappoint. The reason it was okay service– boyfriend orders his combination seafood noodles(#1) without kidneys. We ask to substitute it and they said okay with fishcake. We said okay but had a feeling she would be confused with our appetizer fishcake and to replace his kidney with a fishcake. In the end, his order was served with a kidney. I told another waitress since our original waitress disappeared«no kidney» and they took his kidney out of his noodles and brought one fishcake to replace it. They better have lol. Just a simple misunderstanding. I forgive you lady. Other than that, all of our food was good. I will be returning to order something else.

Every time I drive past Kim Ky, there are always 5,000 cars parked in the lot. I finally decided to see what the hype was about. DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Where have you been all my life? Meat & Shrimp w/Rice Noodles($ 6.25) Can’t go wrong with the #1 on the menu. I got the skinny noodles; a few of my friends got the thick noodles. Everyone went to town, munching on their noodles. SOGOOD! There is so much variety in that bowl. It’s a party in a bowl! The wait can get a little long, but it’s well worth it. Great food at a super affordable price.

The food is delicious! Everything else is. lol. Food was great, I ordered their regular thick white noodle that comes with chicken, minced meat, kidney and shrimp. It comes in a clear broth that’s a little bit sweet, but very light and tasty. Boyfriend likes to get his soup on the side and eat the noodles with ingredients dry, almost like a vermicelli kind of deal. Also you have the option of getting half thick white noodle and half egg noodle, which he did. This way is delicious as well. Next time if I’m not so hungover and in dire need of soup, I would try the noodles with the soup on the side. The highlight of the meal that really brought the meal over the top was their homemade sa-cha, Chinese barbecue sauce. Omg it’s so delicious! I kept sounding like the old lady from Franks red hot sauce commercial that says«I put that sh– on everything!». I think I could eat this sa-cha on anything and everything. It tastes good on my soup noodles, but it pairs so deliciously with the dry noodles. It has a hearty flavor and a hint of chili and spice in it that gives it more dimension that store bought BBQ sauce. Even if the waitress took my sa-cha away mid way through my meal! Not cool. I tried the coconut jelly, not my thing. I thought it was coconut juice in a coconut that contained jelly in it. But no it’s really just a coconut jello and the taste it average, kind of dry. And for $ 4, not worth it. But the atmosphere had much to be desired… When we were waiting outside one of the workers came out with a bucket of water and threw it outside on the asphalt ground, China style. It’s also really loud and hectic in the restaurant and I had a first class view straight into the Kitchen. There’s dirty water on the floor, dirty dishes piled up, etc. The waitress also asked me what I wanted to order the moment I sat down and didn’t even have time to open up the menu yet. I’m guessing most people that come are regulars but girl, I don’t know what’s on your menu okay! I kept joking with my boyfriend that he didn’t have to spend money on a plane ticket to go to China to eat authentic SuZhou cuisine and most importantly experience that authentic Chinese restaurant feel lol.
