What I ate: 2 entrée combo plate Visit date: January 2, 2016 First time? Yes. Clement is an easy fix for hanger problems. Just pick from their large selection of warm entrees. I had the flat rice noodles with pork, lemon chicken, and tofu skin ‘egg rolls’. Yum! Flat rice noodles are my favorite; Clement’s flat rice noodles had just the right amount of salt so you can eat it alone or with an entrée(like how you would eat rice). The lemon chicken is fried, kind of like a sweet and sour orange chicken. And what I’m calling tofu skin egg rolls were filled with glass noodles, cat ear mushrooms, and mixed veggies. It was like pancit wrapped in a tofu skin. Seating is limited. Bags are $ 0.10. Next time I’m coming for a whole BBQ slab.

Best egg tart ever!!! The shell is really crispy and soft, and it’s the real Portugal/Macau style!!! I miss it so much! I had tons of the egg tarts that have the hard shell:(also! The egg part is really creamy and yummy too! Love it! I’ll come back!

This was our first experience eating dim sum. We waited about 5 minutes before they got to us. We picked several items to eat from different cases. All were very tasty! The onion cake was really yummy and still warm when I ate it. The combination bun was my favorite item I tried. With some egg and mushroom, along with meats, in a warm & fluffy bread like bun. So unique and really good. My husband and I were stuffed, and spent less than $ 9 for our food. I did not try the sesame roll, but it looked delicious. They got 4 stars only because we have know idea what it SHOULD taste like. But, we really enjoyed it!

Big, fluffy, tasty buns. Decent variety of dim sum items. Comforting rice porridge with Chinese donuts. All at pretty low prices. Just be ready with your order and your cash because there is no dawdling! I haven’t been to the place next door which does Panda Express-like service with the combination boxes.

The food here has been consistently good. The pork buns are huge. The shui mai and the hargow are tender and flavorful. I’ve brought a couple friends and my fiancée here and they’ve all been blown away with how much food you can get for only like $ 10. The food is cheap, it’s tasty and that’s all you really need to know. The service is pretty fast, a line out the door will still see you served in about 10 minutes. They may not be the friendliest bunch, but I’ve grown used to this as I often crave Chinese food and Dim Sum. Parking is generally pretty easy to find, but you still have to pay unless you don’t mind parking several blocks away and walking. There’s really not much seating, so grab what you ordered and go find a park somewhere to enjoy your food. Get here earlier in the day! They start running out of stuff towards closing.

Amazing dim sums. Good price and fast service. The dim sums had plenty of meat and veggies, unlike those we have in south Florida which were filled with starch and soaked in oil. Bring cash, you can get enough for two person with less than ten dollars. The egg custards were to die for as well.

I love the BBQ pork buns. My uncle would buy dozens for us and bring back to our Silicon Valley friends and family. They are so huge, soft and BBQ pork is moist and tasty. They chicken BBQ bun is yummy too. Also got mochi treat and two egg tarts. If I’m ever back, I’ll stop by. The only negative is parking is not easy. It’s better to go to parking lots and pay the meter. Just look for the long yellow banner sign in front ;)

This is a takeout dim sum place. Got some time to spare in the morning, just wanted something quick to eat with mom before we drive out. I got their beef rice roll for $ 3, and 3 pieces for $ 2 deal. I had the salty fried triangle, fried taro with meet, and a turnip cake. I was very disappointed cause these items like essentially my favorite and is a hit in dim sums. I wanted shrimp rice rolls, but the lady before me took the last two… ARGGGLADY! My beef rice roll was not entirely cooked, the meat was still pink and the noodles were soggy. The turnip cake was bland and really doughy. The taro fried thing was kinda stale… but i did enjoy the salty fried triangle very much! the fried layer was just right and not overly thick, and the meat inside was yummy! Service, don’t expect too much as it’s a go in, order, pay and leave kinda deal. they want you in and out, so don’t be offended if there’s lack in customer service. Will i go back? not intentionally, but if I’m in the neighborhood, i might pick up some salty fried triangles :)

I was in the Inner Richmond, and asked someone where to go for some good cheap Dim Sum. They recommended this place, and it REALLY delivered. Every single thing I tried was great; my favorite was the chives /celery /shrimp dumplings, but the shu mai was very good, as was the egg custard desserts. You get more food than you can eat for around $ 8 a la carte. I’ll be back for sure.

This won’t be the cleanest restaurant you’ll ever visit but who cares … seeing all my childhood grinds and what I grew up on when living in Hawaii excited me beyond control. Char siu baos, pork hash, jook porridge, roast duck, sweet sour pork and chow fun was our entire order. It came in a humungous portion, cost less than $ 20 for everything and fed the both of us. This was a great find when venturing out to Clement Street in San Francisco, an incredible area with blocks and blocks of Chinese Restaurants serving dim sum, to choose from.

Not just one place, but there different little shops to get your favorite Chinese BBQ, dim sum and combos. Order your dim sum in one shop, then go next door and order some roast duck and have a seat at the little counter. We got SO much great food, and at really low prices. Definitely feels authentic, from the ducks hanging in the front window to the roast whole pig parts hacked up on a rolling table next to the kitchen. The giant pork bao and shu mai were really good, and they even had jook rice porridge. Come hungry, because the portions are truly generous. We spent the whole afternoon in GG Park trying to walk off lunch.

This is my all time favorite place for the steamed Char Siu Bao whether in Los Angeles or San Francisco. Whenever in SF and I have a chance, I come here. I used to buy these by the dozen, freeze them and savor them at home. I am somewhat of a self proclaimed connoisseur of Char Siu Bao’s. Here’s the disclaimer of my biases so you have the frame of reference to my review, proving you with the context for understanding my position… I do prefer the White steamed BBQ pork bun over the brown baked BBQ pork buns, even with the honey glaze on top. I do prefer with the White steamed variety that the char siu bao is not cracked on the top nor small, but is round to perfection, sort of like a «Size D cup sized Breast Implant»(or maybe an ample C), like the ones here, as th Clement Restaurant are larger than the average bao you’ll find or get, in in this case bigger is better too. ’nuff said!

Love this simple, fast dimsum/bun place in my neighborhood. such an easy concept to stop in and grab a snack. buns are delicious and dim sums are decent. love the«combination bun» which is a huge bun filled with chicken/cabbage, sausage, egg, bbq pork, and mushroom… a meal in one! nice sweet options and jook too! service is fast and can be rude. im used to it and i grew up coming here!

So good. Shrimp rolls are outta this world. The Chinese donut is very hearty. I’ve eaten it by itself but can’t wait to have it with some jook. My boyfriend loves getting the beef shumai. He no longer settles for the pork and shrimp one any longer. Really take out only. I’m always here around 2 – 3 and there’s always a line but moves super fast.

Review for the BBQ pork buns only. I love bbq pork from the Chinese delis. Put in a baked bun and you have a delicious treat times two. A friend recommended that I check out the bbq pork buns at Clement Bakery. On a Saturday afternoon, I got into the waiting line that started from the back of the store. While waiting, I was able to see that they carry many types of dim sum, pastry/bakery items and porridge as well. Then my eyes gravitated to the tray of bbq pork buns behind the counter. As my turn neared, the six remaining buns were sold. Oh no! My turn came and I asked if they had more buns and the server said it’ll be out in five minutes. True to her word, the next tray of buns came out of the kitchen. Yes! The bbq pork buns($ 1.25) are on larger size compared to others that I’ve had. The bun had a nice toasty texture. The filling consisted of not overly large bbq pork pieces that were tender and some pieces of onion in a sauce that was not overly sweet. Overall, very good bbq pork bun that has made my list.

My second stop on my dim sum hunt in Richmond. *Note* I am basing all of my dim sum reviews on the following three items(as they are my favorites): Baked bbq pork bun, Har gao and Siu Mai. Bao — I really disliked this bao. It had way too much breading. The filling was funky as well. Strips of pork mixed with onion strings and a strange flavor. MSG perhaps? I don’t know, but it was not good. Har gao — The filling in their har gao was actually pretty good. It was moist and had decent flavor. Unfortunately the outside of this item was really dry and not very good. Siu mai — Much like the har gao, I liked the pork filling in this. It was moist and tasted decently. But again, the outside was really dry and did not get the job done. - I also tried the taro bbq turnover item. It was better than the other stuff I ordered here and had some nice crispy parts to it with some flavor. The pork strips they used went much better in this item than in the bao. However, this is not what I came here for. Additionally, there is no seating in this place which, while not important, is always nice to have. There are definitely better dim sum places on clement street.

Came here at the tail end of dimsum on a Sunday, and was able to grab the last few pieces of shumai and other dimsum goods that they had. I liked that they accepted CC’s(albeit a minimum of $ 10), and the prices were standard… turnip cake was pretty good, as was the shumai… the scallion pancakes were way too flour-y. Worth returning to try some of their other stuff though.

Walked here from my friend’s apartment at around 11:30 on Sunday — there was a line of about 10 Chinese old folk which was a good sign that we were in the right place :) I got like 2000 calories worth of Chinese buns/baos/pastries for $ 11. That included: 3X xian2 shui3 jiao3(salty dumplings) 3X cun1 juan3(veggie spring rolls) 2X nuo4 mi3 ji1(lotus-wrapped rice) 1X cha1 shao1 su1(cha-shu pastry) 1X mysterious chicken and onion pastry And they weren’t like, regular sized like at dim sum restaurants. Everything was at least double the size I expected them to be! Fantastic! A lot of the deep fried things were super oily, but um, what do you expect? I also tried the baked and steamed cha shao buns, the winner of which is the steamed cha shao bao! Get that one. Skip the other two types. I’d recommend coming with a Chinese speaker, or at least learning the names of all the things you like to eat, so that when you get pushed to the front of the line and yelled at to make your order you’re prepared.

My Go To spot for food to bring to family gatherings. Good food, cheap prices, but crappy service! BBQ pork buns: HUGE! Har Gau/Pork Shumai/Sharkfin Dumplings: YUM! Hot Dog Bun: Good some days, very dry other days. Fried Shrimp Rolls/Fried Shrimp Dumplings: OMG! So good! If weight wasn’t an issue, I would be eating them everyday! Beef Curry Roll: So good, but it can get messy because it’s too flaky!
