LA DWP gets an F minus. DWP sent us a letter telling us we didn’t pay. We were a bit confused and checked to make sure we had paid and found that we had. Our bank records verified that they got payment same as they always do electronically. My wife called to find out what what the problem was and gave up waiting after about an hour because she had to go to work. We tried again a day or two later, as before we had to wait a very long time, over an hour. When we finally got though to someone we explained that we had paid, we had a record of it and the customer service agent said, «we don’t have a record of this, you need to call another department or fax your bank record to us at another number». At this point I took over talking to customer service agent and explained we had waited over two hours to talk to someone and we wanted the problem fixed right away. We were able to give whatever information they needed about the transaction where they were paid but we wanted the problem solved. After escalating to a supervisor we got no where and accepted the fax number we were given. We tried to fax our bank records and found out that we had been given the wrong number. We called back and after another hour we found out that the number we were given wasn’t even close to the correct number. It wasn’t just a mistake on our part getting one wrong digit. After this we faxed the information that they said they were unable to take over the phone. We were never given an estimate as to when we would have a resolution. We called back a week later and spent another hour on hold to find out that our situation was still under investigation. NICE! Today we got a Disconnection notice saying our service would be disconnected Nov 13^th. Today is Nov 17^th. So naturally I’m calling them again. I put in our account number and the automated system says we have a «ZERO» balance. I’m still on hold, I’m so furious with these people, I just want to say it’s not ok to waste my time, send threatening letters and be completely WRONG! Ummm what’s the word A-​HOLEs. That’s how I would describe LA DWP. Complete A-​HOLEs.
4 hours and still counting, 22min in on my current call. They owe us the money they «claimed» we didn’t pay for the time spent on hold and talking to their unapologetic customer service.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I called the 800 number for DWP to confirm an appointment I had made online. They were supposed to come on Thursday, but I got an email Wednesday afternoon from Mr. Ybarra saying they don’t have enough information from me and therefore cannot come set up the water and power. I emailed him back the necessary information on Wednesday evening and received no response all day on Thursday or Friday. Needless to say, I have no power. I decided I had better call. After having been on hold for 34 minutes and 29 seconds just to confirm whether or not someone will be there on Monday to set it up, I was informed that I’d need to «pay a deposit as it is for a commercial property» which hadn’t been told to me in any previous conversations. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 was that when finally someone did pick up, other than being the bearer of «bad deposit news» the gentleman, Mr Giesler, was extremely friendly and very helpful and is making sure the power will be on come Monday. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
