Solid bar and scene. Drinks are priced better than most in SD but this is OB so that is expected! Keep up the good work.

Last night, the very unattentive barmaid left the bar completely unattended for 15 minutes. This is not uncommon behavior for her on Wednesday nights. I can’t imagine why management keeps her around. They must be desperate.

I thought they were open till 2 am. I’m not a bit drinker but I ordered a beer at about 125 am. They gave last call at 0130 I think. Anyways that’s fine, I figured I had more than enough item and I’m halfway done with my beer. At 138 they start saying we need to finish our beer and get out. I’m sitting at the bar, I start drinking it faster while browsing on my phone and the bartender keeps pushing it. I’m like«dude ok I’m almost done.» Then he goes«you need to finish it or I’ll take it away, you’re the only person left at the bar that doesn’t work here.» So I told him«dude you’re kind of being an asshole, I’m trying to drink it but seriously?» I really don’t get why he was being so pushy, I just paid $ 9 for a sculpin at a place where you can get it for $ 2.50 the bar next door. The bouncer was backing up the bartender so I left about ¼ of my beer. I work nightshift as a nurse in the Icu, and this was my first drink of the night, I wasn’t being belligerent or rude, I was just calling it out how I saw it. He was pretty stuck on the fact that I used the word asshole, but that’s honestly how I saw it and I’m not going to censor myself and let someone treat me like that or push me around. I mean, honestly, I wasn’t holding the bar up from being closed, I was trying to drink my beer and keep to myself, and I would have been out by 145am they’re open till two as the hour listen on Unilocal. And if I’m completely wrong and a jerk, then I apologize. I didn’t think what I was doing was unreasonable, and hopefully I don’t run into that bartender or bouncer again because they seem kind of power hungry, unethical, and not customer service focused.

Came here during the playoffs to catch my beloved Redskins get defeated by the God damn Panthers. Great energy and all my people with the occasional loser cowboy fan trying to be funny in the crowd. It was fun but nothing fancy. More like a frat house type place. Service was hard to get during this day. It was insanely packed tho and really no room to watch the game. Every one was ridiculously wasted when I got there. Seriously, bar hopping is not fun when you’re pregnant. Drunk people are obnoxious but that does not take away from the establishment. They had a bouncer in the front and people out the window. There were 2 stalls in the ladies room but the wait was over 20 min as an extremely intoxicated lady passed out on the floor of one of them. Very disgusting. Again, it’s not the establishments fault people are so incompetent but there should be a bit more security or staff or something to control these people.

Absolutely hands down the best music venue located in Ocean Beach! Live music 6 days a week following trivia, comedy, and karaōke. What more can you ask for?

Fun environment. Went on a Friday night and it was incredibly busy(just how I like it). The drinks were reasonably priced and the band Spiritual Rez played that night and was surprisingly good.

Came here for a comedy show a little while ago and it was absolutely the worst setup I can imagine for a comedian. Several reasons: 1. The tables and chairs were arranged as far away from the stage as possible, which disconnected the crowd and broke that bond between performer and audience that’s important for any show. 2. Laziest bouncer I’ve ever seen. I’ve ever seen, didn’t do his job once. Half the crowd was talking loudly, but one lady in particular kept trying to finish the performers’ jokes with her own punchlines and cut off every one with her sidebar comments. One guy was on stage for 11 minutes and literally finished only one joke because of her, and the bouncer did nothing. The rest of the crowd(including her own friends) had to tell her to be quiet. 3. They put an open mic right before a real show. For those not familiar with the comedy scene, open mics are usually pretty bad. Worse, the MC didn’t give any indication that the real show was starting, so the audience thought that the professional performers were just more open mic amateurs and didn’t pay any attention. Moreover, after an hour of bad comedy, nobody was in the mood to laugh so even though the pros had some pretty good sets, barely anybody laughed during the entire show.

This was a fun spot. Climate is nice, staff is friendly. It’s for sure more of a local spot, which was nice. I didn’t really care for one of my drinks, but it wasn’t clause enough for 4 stars. I’ll be heading back for sure.

This night was wonderful. The food was great. Service was timely. I even enjoyed the karaōke, and it normally irritates me. Everything was fine until we got our bill. Well, until we got someone else’s bill. We were being charged for dishes that we never ordered and were never sent to our table. Fine mistakes happen. Don’t argue with me about it, it took the owner coming over to settle the matter

Went for trivia night in a Tuesday. $ 2 cover. The trivia was a little old school but fun nonetheless. Prizes for everyone which was nice. Not too crowded either. The venue is a little divey and the trivia crowd was a little older. Average age was probably 45 on the night I went. Overall, a good time!

Winstons is the place to go to watch a Redskins game. Below are the bar highlights: 1. You can bring your own food 2. Good air flow with fans and open garage door style windows 3. Free shooters when the Skins score 4. Raffles during games 5. The staff is super courteous

The place itself is alright but the bar staff… 1 star quality. Talk about poor service, slow, inattentive, waited at the bar 20 minutes for a drink/close out our tab.

Winstons is a great place in OB. The drinks are priced right. they never over crowd the bar. and they have multiple nights of live music. Reggae night is my favorite! They always feature local bands from San Diego and Southern California and its always a good time! There is a full parking lot located behind the bar. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Its a little divey but draws a cool crowd! Lots of people dancing! Fun place for a night out.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Everyone here is beyond rude and very unprofessional. They lost 5 paying customers tonight because they wouldn’t let my best friend, who is part of the band inside because she is 2 weeks shy of being 21. Not only did the band have to adapt without having her but when the booking manager said it was fine the bouncer continued to refuse to let her in. Fuck that fat bastard at the front door! He must be so insecure and unhappy with his life that he had to ruin what was supposed to be a great night with family and friends!

I love that this is a Redskins bar! I’m from the D.C. area, and it makes me feel closer to home. Also, it’s just a great bar! The stage is a great set-up. It’s easy to see the bands, etc.

They didn’t kick me out so 3 stars. haha! I came here with a coworker to watch a local band, but things got really hazey. They have a stage and strong drinks. It’s super divey, but not bad. Might be worth coming back to watch another band.

This is my favorite place to catch live music in OB. The bouncers are nice and the cover is reasonable. They have a pretty good selection for beer and liquor and a nice-sized dance floor — as well as high-top tables and stools if you prefer seated musical appreciation(or the band you came for isn’t on yet). The bartenders and waitresses can be a little slow, but that’s nothing to write home about. One of these days I’m going to hit up karaōke, and then all bets are off. Until then it’s a nice little venue and great place to chill or get crazy — whatever your style.
