I went to the offices for an appointment this week and they weren’t open. I assumed I made the mistake of writing down my appointment incorrectly. Two phone calls and 30 minutes on the phone later and the scheduler told me my appointment was on the day they were closed. I was then asked if I would like to reschedule, not an apology, a let me reschedule ASAP, but a nonchalant response. I asked to reschedule and possibly with someone who I could get in quicker to see, was sent to the superintendent to leave a VM. Two days later and I have not heard back. I left another VM today with no response. The reality is when medication is on the line, this can all create issues. I do not recommend this office, nor their lack of service to anyone.

I haven’t been in to this clinic and I don’t think I would go to it, if I were you because when I called them, the receptionist was really rude and insensitive. Which is kinda counter-productive for a Psych office, I think. I called up with the wrong number, trying to get the Gifford clinic which is a another clinic that UCSD provides. It was a simple wrong number, but when it became obvious that it was, the receptionist asked me what insurance I had and when I said I had none and was trying to reach the Gifford Clinic, she started to ignore my questions and spoke over me, although I had not been rude to her. She then snidely informed me that if I went to THIS clinic without insurance, it would be like $ 250(which I had not asked about and wasn;t really interested in knowing). So I told her that I guessed that explained«the attitude». With this woman, if you don’t have insurance or cannot serve her in some way, she very well might be rude to you, as she was to me. I know a lot of people who go in to Psych offices are in a delicate state of mind(or might be at some visit in the future), so I’d stay away if being treated respectfully is important to you. I’m not sure what the doctors are like, but in order to see the doctor, you have to deal with the receptionist and I have to say it’s not the most pleasant experience to do so.
