I just moved to San Diego from San Francisco and was looking for physical therapist. I needed help ASAP due to severe sciatca pain .And when I stopped by Torrey Pines office I knew things will be taken care in the best possible way. ALL staff highly professional, carring and its very reassuring for a patient. I been part of medical field for more than 20 years and I know how it can be complicated to meet patient needs and keep scheduale on the time. In this office its done on the highest level combining patients needs and therapists delivering healing therapy. This office part of Torrey Pines Orthopaedic Medical Group and I’m very pleased with visit to Dr Richard Thunder and all staff at Genessee Ave. office, including orthotech people and administrative Cendrina and front desk Sue Heminway make this office be the best.

A bad experience start to finish. The waiting area is loud and poorly-lighted, with loudly slamming doors every minute or so. They notify you that if you’re 15 minutes late, you will be charged extra – then they kept me waiting for 15 minutes after my scheduled time, even though I had gotten there 15 minutes early and the therapist was there! So I didn’t get the full hour, and I was pretty much rushed through the session. The approach is «one-size-fits-all,» defnitely not patient-centered, and you feel like you’re being herded through a stockyard. I went in for post-operative PT, so obviously the cause of my visit was the surgery I had just had(I never would have come in for any other reason). Yet I had to fill out an irrelevant form that would have been appropriate if I had gone in on my own for an injury or general wear and tear. No explanation was given as to what to expect – I just had surgery two days earlier. The therapist is undoubtedly quite skillful and qualified, but the entire approach was not to instruct, inform, or allow patient feedback. The patient is treated like a third-grader in a class run by a very domineering and impatient teacher. A mindless repetition kind of situation. Do this, don’t ask, just do as you’re told. I will be looking for somewhere else to finish the post-op PT.
