Torrey Gardens Café is a great addition to our lunch rotation. The prices are great, and the food is delicious. My coworkers and I always get one of the Daily Lunch Box Specials(11:00−2:30). This includes a full sandwich(not just half), chips and a cup of soup for $ 8. You can also choose ½ salad and a bowl of soup for $ 7. The Little Havana sandwich is one of my favorites; Slow roasted pork in a cuban citrus rub, smoked all natural ham, swiss cheese, dijon and pickles on a grilled Chiabatta bread. I read some other Unilocal reviews that said the bread wasn’t good here, but we disagree. It’s always been the perfect texture: soft but with a nice crunch, not too tough at all. And, as a bonus, this place has the best little soft ice cubes in their fountain drink dispenser! :)

I’m giving these guys 5 stars. Not only is the Cuban sandwich authentic and delicious, the customer service is great too. Try the lentil soup as well. Fresh ingredients and excellent flavor.

A hidden gem… that has potential to greatness. I have had 3 different sandwiches here over the few months. All were fantastic. My favorite was the Little Havana. I haven’t had the burger yet, but I plan to try it the next time I’m in. There is a lot of value in what you get for the price you pay. Portions are typically enough and you get the side with your sandwich without the extra cost. To knock them up to 4 or 5 stars, I think they have to change the plastic trays they are serving their food in(to go trays even for dine in). Not only is it terrible for the environment, there are recyclable alternatives out there that are cheap and easy to use/stack. Speed up their cook/prep times. They aren’t all that busy yet, and if they are ever very busy I can’t imagine how long the wait might be. My guess is, it would be too long based off the wait time when they are slow. I have had all hot sandwiches. What about a couple cold options or a variety of breads? I think there is a ton of potential for this location. It «could» one day be a must stop corner café.

Torrey Gardens Café is amazing! Restaurant quality dishes for a really good price. I go here about 2 – 3 times a week and love the breakfast sandwiches, the burgers and just had the pesto/Alfredo pasta with chicken which inspired me to write this review. So good! The owner, Jair, is always really friendly and gives you a little information about each dish. I’ve yet to try something at Torrey Gardens Café that I haven’t liked.

Prices are good, but you pay for what you get. Mediocre food at nominal prices. Coffee was probably three stars, but they got my order wrong and put egg on my bacon and cheese so two it is. Hours are inconvenient as well.

Excellent pasta combo dinners. The burgers to go are also tasty and done right. They cook to order and ready for pick-up on time. Service is very friendly. My family loved the fries, too!

Decided to try this place out yesterday. Jair recommended the ‘Chicken Milanese’ sandwich and I absolutely loved it. The service was great and super friendly. They have a wide selection of foods(pastas, sandwiches, burgers, salads, breakfast, drinks, coffee, etc.) They also have outlets everywhere(if you need to charge your phone.) Will definitely be back :) !

This place makes food«to order». The upside of that is that the food usually turns out pretty good. For instance, the burger that I ordered. The meat and bun tasted great and it came with fries, which was overall a fair amount of food for the price. The downside of «to order» though is the wait time. I had to wait longer than most other places. Fortunately the staff were really nice and the food was worth the wait, so it all worked out. It’s also fairly close to my workplace so the wait wasn’t that big of a deal. I’d probably be not as patient if I had to use up half of my lunch break just getting to and from the establishment though. Overall I’d definitely go back.

So far this café has exceeded my expectations. There is a lot of variety on the menu and it is fairly priced, especially for Torrey Gardens(been to the salon yet?!? OUCH!). The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and very fairly priced. You can order any sandwich on a bagel or a croissant for $.50 more. My girlfriends and I stopped in for lunch before a pool day and everyone was very happy with their lunch sandwich selections. I loved my caprese/pesto sandwich. The cappuccino was great also, excellent barista(baristo?). Thank you for opening and keep up the great work!!!

Tried the sandwich. I’m very impressed. Just a suggestion, I found a flyer in my door steps, why not include a GRANDOPENING coupon say $ 2 off as a good neighbor gesture? May be your next marketing campaign you might do that. I hope your Café catches on with 500+ homes & condos near by. Good luck, best wishes! From a neighbor.

I ordered the La Jolla scramble, and it is very tasty, fresh ingredients, made to order. Can’t wait to try some other menu items, I hear the salads a very good too.

Tried their chicken milanese + soup. Bread was a brick w/no moisture and tasted awful. it was not fresh. Soup was some spinach soup but was thicker than Elmer’s glue. NOTFRESHATALL!!!

I have been waiting for this place to open forever! My first experience was a good one. They have a good menu with scrambles, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and pastries, in addition to coffee and tea. I went with the egg, tomato, and basil breakfast sandwich, which was served on a buttered and toasted bagel, which was really good. The breakfast sandwiches are $ 4.50 and the lunch ones are $ 7.50, which I think are very reasonable and much cheaper than the café at the Hilton Garden Inn close by. The only downside is the décor. It’s modern and clean, but I find it kinda sterile. I dont really see myself relaxing here with a book or anything. The chairs and couches are pretty stiff too. But the food and coffee are more important when there is a huge lack of businesses in the area. This is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood!
