If you were to run diagnostics on my jaw, shoulders and back, the stored tension per square centimeter would be enough to power a fleet of spaceship shuttles into the next galaxy. I’m that girl who can never find a massage that goes deep enough or relaxes enough. Look, I don’t want some whisperific sliding of oil across my skin(Swedish massage, I’m sorta calling you out). I need a world class wrestler/masseuse to wring the tension out of my stubborn muscles so that I slop out the door like a pile of putty. It doesn’t help that I took a fairly comprehensive massage class a couple years ago. If ten minutes into a massage, I’m still wound up enough to be assessing your technique, your technique ain’t cutting it. Enter Sacha. I met Sacha while taking an improv class and I was intrigued by her story. In addition to running a community acupuncture clinic, she operates a private practice out of her home office, offering ashiatsu massage and acupuncture, among other services. A lifelong learner(something I believe is important in any profession, but especially when it comes to wellness), Sacha is constantly exploring new arenas and weighing what she will and won’t incorporate into her practice. And I’m darn glad she decided to incorporate ashiatsu. Now, ashiatsu isn’t a modality you find strewn across San Diego. The practitioner uses their feet to walk on/massage you while they hold onto an overhead bar for stability. While it may sound odd, I am now a firm believer that it’s basically the most amazing thing ever. Due to the fact the my muscle tension is so deep seated, getting work done that actually works will often have to toe the edge between relaxation and discomfort. And ashiatsu hits that sweet spot if you want it to — Sacha checks in with you consistently and asks if you want more/less pressure. If you just want to drift off to sleep, ashiatsu can also be that for you. I add acupuncture and the sound table(Sacha’s newest toy) to my session, because as I’ve mentioned, I’m a ball of stress. I need all the help I can get, even though I still get squeamish about acupuncture needles, despite having had treatments before. Boy oh boy. J A C K P O T The relaxing effects from a session with Sacha last several weeks. And it isn’t just relaxation — due to the technique utilized in ashiatsu, I notice that my body’s alignment gets back on track. My posture will be more on point that usual. Bottom line: it works, and it works DAMN good. A few other details: –As I mentioned, this is Sacha’s home office. She has an adorable little puffball of a puppy who will happily greet you at the door. If you have pooch paranoia, let Sacha know when you schedule a session. –Pricing is on par with most massage offerings in San Diego. –Parking(street only) might be touch and go, so factor that into your arrival time. –Cash please!

Sacha is a wonderful person! She is kind, loving, and best of all very caring about her clients. She is a seeker, always learning new healing techniques and modalities, and always open to new ideas. She’s very good at matching client issues to appropriate healing modalities and styles. Sacha is so talented, and I feel blessed to have her in my life as a healer!

The Wellness Tree is a one-stop shop without the price tags of a resort or spa. The studio is comfortable with a nice personal touch. All the services are very customized to your specific needs or condition — whether I have physical pain, emotional stress, or I’m just plain tired I know I will leave The Wellness Tree feeling like a new person. I have tried the Ashiatsu massage, acutonics, personal training, and yoga services and found that you can’t go wrong — very high quality and consistent. I will also never go back to a hands massage after the Ashiatsu experience — truly the best massage I have ever had!
