I love the tipsy crow! It’s such a great bar cause it has different floors which are awesome for different kinds of people. The main floor is like the big bar. I got a Moscow mule there which was very gingery LOL and not too strong. The basement was cool cause there was an actual dance floor and everything along with another bar. I went wearing jeans & booties and I wasn’t standing out but I went on a Thursday. I know on the weekends it gets more dressy!

Bartender seems overwhelmed, cant keep up with drink orders, or getting his waitress her drinks in a timely way, ive been waiting over 5 mins for a beer. But the music by Pat Dowling is Great. Ill put up with the Crappy service to listen to his music.

Came here on a Friday night with my sister and my mom visiting from out of town. Great bar to watch the game and enjoy the stock market happy hour. Very good prices on drinks and good selection of food as well. We ordered the soft pretzel bites and the bruschetta both tasted great. We had a perfect waitress who was always checking in on us and keep our drinks filled. Great local bar in a area surrounded by pubs and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit!

My group headed straight upstairs. It is a very nice looking bar with a pool table; connect four games and couches etc. for seating. I love the concept of the dinks. It is like the stock market, so I guess as more of one liquor sells the prices come down etc. We got apple crown hots for $ 4.

This place is awesome! We hosted a premier party here upstairs and it was a HUGE hit. I had sooooo many guests come up to me and tell me how much they enjoyed the venue, service and atmosphere! They also made up a special drink and food menu just for us. I would recommend them a thousand times over again, we def found our new favorite hang out spot! Thanks Tom and staff!

This place is three floors, has good music, there is room to move around, the prices were reasonable and we were able to talk even though it was busy. Best of all the bathrooms were clean.

To be honest, after hitting numerous bars earlier in the night, my time at The Tipsy Crow was a bit of a blur.(And thank god it was our last stop.) The downstairs area was club-like and the music was cracking. It was a pretty mixed crowd, but everyone seemed friendly and not creepy, which is always a good thing! Bartenders are quick with getting a drink in your hand, if you need it. So cheers!

The Tipsy Crow was only a hundred eighty feet away from the Hard Rock Café and a nice follow-up quiet drinking place. Melissa from Austin found this place and it was a little quiet catch up time with friends. Yes, Unilocal influence is here to provide some cinnamon pretzel bites with Unilocal check-in. It’s always fun to get something for nothing just by using the Unilocal app. This is one of the rare times where free isn’t always good. The pretzel bites were a little hard and dusted with sweet cinnamon and served with butter. I didn’t care for them at all but free is free. I had my usual one-and-done of a generously poured shot of Jack with a Coke back. $ 6 plus tip and we were out the door and route to hour next destination. Fun bar hopping times with friendly service.

A few of us found ourselves here after another event since it was right down the block. The bartender was pretty nice; he offered lots of suggestions from drinks to parking tips for our next drinking stop. Luckily for us, it was also happy hour so drinks were pretty reasonably priced. The bartender also explained that their pricing is also affected by how much of an item is ordered; if a lot of people order Sailor Jerry(love that they carry that!), drinks with Sailor Jerry will increase in price while other types of rum will be cheaper.(To be fair, I think the minimum and max prices were only like $ 1 difference, but still an interesting business model!) It’s not a fancy place, but they do support local distilleries if that’s your thing! I was going to go with my typical rum, Sailor Jerry but ended up trying a local spiced rum they had instead. Don’t forget to check in on Unilocal! You’ll get a free mini-bite platter during happy hour!

UPDATE! It’s been a while since I last visited here, and I left with a bad taste. However, my experience today changed my thoughts about this place. First of all, a bouncer named Nick was awesome. Very friendly and professional unlike your average mean faced unfriendly bouncers. That was cool. Downstairs was actually fun! The dj was playing the right types of music for everyone, which I enjoyed. Bar tender was friendly as well. There was a broken glass near our table and one of the security came over with a flash light and cleaned it up right away. I think that this place has changed a lot over the year and so far I’m liking it. However, I haven’t tried their drinks yet. Last time, it was watered down to the point where we did not enjoy our drinks at all. But, Im pretty sure they fixed that problem already. This place cares about their customers and the feedbacks and maybe that’s why they are still popular in gaslamp:) you’ve changed a lot, and I love it!

Tipsy Crow is a really fun place to go, with 3 vibes to choose from. You want to be in a chill lounge? Go up to the third floor. Fun bar scene with games and drinks? Stay on the main level. You want to dance on a crowded floor, go downstairs and go for it. Drinks were good, bartenders were cool, not pushy, bouncers are nice, lots of security which is nice, knows they can handle if anyone gets out of hand. Great place in the Gaslamp, where you know you’ll have a good time.

This is a cool place. They have three levels each with its own vibe. The main level is a traditional bar with their stock market beer price theme. They also have a few booths and tables for food, which on a Thursday through Sunday night can be overlooked that they even have a menu. I mostly come here for drinks, however, If you are hungry, it shouldn’t be overlooked. There a few good options on there. I like the hot pretzel and it is great to share. They also have a grilled cheese menu! The upstairs has more of a relaxed lounge or game lodge feel. There is a fireplace, some couches, a few tables and of course a bar on one side. On the other side of the floor there is a billiard table and some more relaxed seating. In the basement is the«club.» Another bar down here some seating around the walls and a DJ so that you can dance. Brings me back to college a little with the dance parties in basements, but it is still fun. The drinks come from one of the skilled bartenders instead of a garbage can and a solo cup. This is a cool spot to go because as your mood changes throughout the evening you can check out the different floors or if your friends want to do different things they still could all be under one roof.

I was really disappointed at the staff on our recent visit to the tipsy crow. we came in quite late, and as visitors to san diego were not familiar that the bars typically close at 2am. we were a group of 4 and ordered a full round of drinks then settled in to play some foosball. about 10 minutes later we were abruptly cut off and told the bar was closed and we had to leave immediately. we asked if we could stay through our game and to finish our drinks and were told no. we were then immediately ushered outside. i completely understand an enforced closing time(especially if there are local laws /ordinances to that effect). what i dont understand is allowing a group to come in and buy a full round(~$ 40) and start playing a game when you know you are closing very shortly. we would have liked a heads up before spending that amount of money to then only have time for a few sips before being rudely rushed out the door. this left a bad taste for our entire group.

This is one of my favorite places to go out downtown! The staff is friendly, service is quick and the drinks are strong. My favorite part of Tipsy Crow is the dance floor called«Underground». Rightly named, it really does feel like an underground club. I enjoy being able to transition from a bar to a club setting without having to switch venues and pay cover somewhere else. If you feel like going up instead of down, there is a third floor with more room to hang out. There is also plenty of seating around which I enjoy so you can sit and talk instead of standing around with a drink. You can tell that management runs a tight ship as the place is always clean and security and staff are always running around. This brings a fun energy to the place and also makes it easy to find someone if you have a question. In summary, Tipsy Crow is a great place to grab some drinks with friends in downtown San Diego. You will never leave this place disappointed because there is a great atmosphere and with three floors there is a spot for everyone!

Great spot that never disappoints. Cool, diverse crowd. Three levels: main bar in the middle, upstairs is more of a lounge vibe, downstairs is more clubby playing hip-hop and some occasional EDM. We typically hang out in the main bar or upstairs, since the basement gets pretty crowded and the music is loud. Cons: this place gets crowded; bartender upstairs had a frumpy attitude, but was quick and efficient.

We came to San Diego for a weekend gettaway of fun times, and randomly stumbled upon The Tipsy Crow while walking around in the Gaslamp Quarter. To be honest, the name itself was what really drew me in. Then we saw the great reviews on Unilocal and decided that we had to check it out! We came relatively early on during the night, so there was no cover fee. I love that the downstairs area is the louder, more lively area, while the upstairs lounge is more laid-back and cozy. We personally spent our time upstairs, and enjoyed ourselves on the extremely comfortable couches. The upstairs area had couches, tables, and even a pool table. I would go to The Tipsy Crow again if we were ever in the area. Cost of drinks was pretty average, and we were glad they were not overpriced. I remember them advertising $ 5 tequila shots at one point during the night but my man hates tequila haha

This place is dynamite. I went to UCSD for undergrad, and this was one of my favorite spots. On a recent trip to SD, I wanted to take a special someone on a walk down memory lane. I HAD to take him to this spot. Tipsy Crow hasn’t changed a bit. Let me take you on a tour through all three floors: First floor: Bar, booths(with games like Jenga and Connect Four). It’s such a chill vibe and everyone is always having a good time. Good music scene. They’re always playing fun games and offering free shots if you play. This is where they have the cool stock exchange liquor option. Basement: Dance floor. There is another bar here, a little more crowded than the first floor bar. DJ is spinning such a good mix of hip hop, EDM and the crowd is always dancing :) Second floor: More of a lounge scene. There is a billiards table, another bar and nice seating areas. It’s a little more quiet up here. I thought we were only going to start the night at Tipsy Crow — but we somehow ended up spending the entire night there(just like in college). But with the three different floors with completely different vibes, it’s like you’re at three different bars. A go-to destination when you’re at Gaslamp. p. s. Tipsy Crow, I really miss your AMF slushies. but the regular AMFs will have to suffice — I guess I’m not in college anymore!

Stumbled across the Tipsy Crow during a pub crawl, and it was really enjoyable! It’s cool that there a multiple floors at this bar. Bottom floor — mini club/dance area. Feels sooo good with the A/C and blowing gusts of air from that smoke air thing. We got here early and we able to get a booth at the very back of the room — very comfortable to sit and chat and dance away from the masses of people. Middle floor — this is the floor you enter when you come in through from the street. There’s a large bar displaying the different brews they offer. There are also multiple booths with different types of games to play and pass the time. Top floor — more quiet and lounge-like. I didn’t get to visit this portion, it was too packed to fight through the crowds from the bottom to the top. Definitely worth visiting in SD!

Probably my favorite bar in the Gaslamp. Prime location, great drinks, cool happy hour stock-market-style pricing(you have to go there to get that one) and some of the friendliest bartenders in town. Being a local it’s nice to go to a place where they actually remember you and know you’re drink. Even other places we go to they never remember you but Tipsy Crow does. The bar itself is awesome. The main level has live music all the time, windows that open up to the chaos that is the Gaslamp, shuffle board, comfy booths and a couple TV’s. The downstairs is apparently more«club-style», which is why I don’t go down there, and the upstairs is more laid-back, comfy couches and a little back room with a pool table. It’s nice and dark up there if you are loping for more of a lounge feel. What keeps me coming back is the bartenders. They remember you, they pour a solid drink, they don’t overcharge you and they do what all bartenders should do, be entertaining and friendly. Too many bars in the Gaslamp have bartenders that seemingly are annoyed with people and burnt out of slinging drinks. I’m sure it happens and maybe it does here too but you sure wouldn’t know it by the level of customer service that you get. They definitely have their game faces on and are earning their money. Overall excellent bar in San Diego with knowledgeable bartenders and good drinks.

Bueno para tomar una cerveza antes de ir a un club o para una charla tranquila antes de llegar al hotel. Buena ubicación, precios razonables. Si buscas cocteles, hay mejores lugares.
