Great prices especially on happy hour Saturday. Live reggae from San Diego, also buy 2 sushi rolls and get 1 free. Everyone here is super laid back and chill, nice spot to just pregame before getting into deeper downtown. Alek the bartender, dude you’re the man, thanks for your service. I’ll be back tomorrow !!

just got a place nearby and walked by this place and thought why not try it. they have a great happy hour that goes later than most — til 8PM. they have a good large beer/sake deal, buy 2 get 1 free rolls, edamame & many more. we had the so-hi-e roll(their signature roll), rainbow roll & protein roll because it has no rice & they were all delish. The rainbow and protein were our favorite 2. nice little gem in east village. we wanna go back to try their sushi burritos note: free edamame if you check in on Unilocal

We rented out the restaurant to host a special event over the weekend. We had about 30 – 40 people there celebrating a surprise birthday party. The Parlour staff went above and beyond for us! They made this night so memorable. We were so impressed by the quality and timeliness of the food given such a large party. They let us bring in our own DJ also and danced the night away. The Owner put together a great special menu for us. Far exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect venue.

This place was more than wonderful for our friends birthday this past weekend! The staff was gracious, fun and extremely accommodating the whole night. We had a large group, probably 40+ people, for a private event and it was great that we were well taken care of from start to finish. Their food was also yummy! I will definitely be back here when I am in town– and recommend to my friends still in San Diego.

Had dinner here with my girlfriend and it was awesome. Our favorite rolls were the sin city roll and the dynamite roll. The edamame was tasty and the beer options were good for a sushi bar. This is an awesome restaurant in the East Village.

Excellent service, yummy happy hour and dog friendly on the patio area. I left Quartyard with my pooch and deciding to try this place for HH. Love that it goes to 8pm! No other restaurant has a good happy hour that goes so late. Glad I did! The server greeted me right away, brought some water out for both my pup and I and was very attentive throughout my meal. And he remembered my dogs name when I was leaving. Extra brownie points :)

This place gets the 5 star bump for the service. We came in on Cinco-de-Mayo looking for something other than Mexican food and boy howdy did we find it! Aleck was our server and is the quintessential left coast chill waiter. He was working the bar and the couple tables that were there for sushi. He made some great recommendations for beers, saki and rolls. He even came over with an additional type of saki and shared a bottle with our group. The place has a pretty small footprint and is divided into a bar, which you walk into, and a sushi restaurant to the left. They focus on local beers and had a half dozen or so on tap. Aleck told us about all of them and had good insight based on our preferences. The saki was excellent and while limited in number(I think there were 3 or 4), they’re popular ones in Japan and included hot, cold, filtered and unfiltered options. For dinner, the Miso soup was excellent. Light and with good palate cleansing flavor! Fish-wise we had a Nigiri combo — Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail — that was delightful and three rolls between the three of us. The protein roll was solid — nice flavors and with a cucumber wrap — it made chopsticks tougher to use, but kept things really fresh tasting. The sin-city roll was also very nice, with just a little kick and some excellent ponzu sauce. The caterpillar roll was our favorite, with eel, avocado and some roasted scallions. It was solid, without being too filling. Note: HAPPYHOURISFROM4 – 8PM — They had buy two get one free rolls, a few $ off hand rolls and about a dozen other specials. It really encouraged us to try plenty of stuff. The sushi here was excellent, the drinks great and everything really brought together with the service. The place is a solid 4 on it’s own and as long as they keep the vibe going like it is currently, they’ll continue to do well. Worth exploring and coming back to again!

I was highly disappointed with this place. I rarely leave Unilocal comments and never negative ones but I had no choice. I live right above this place, and wanted to like it so badly but it was just not good. I ordered teriyaki chicken and nigiri. Instead of nigiri i was given sashimi, a $ 16 mistake and the rice for the teriyaki was crunchy and hard. I was very excited to have a cool sushi place downstairs but there is no chance I ever go back.

Came here on St Patrick’s Day and had a fantastic time. We had Eddie help us out and he was able to show us the best deals and make sure that we ordered the right things. The sushi was great, drinks were cheap, and atmosphere rocked. Big fan of The Parlour.

This place has been a few different things over the years. I’ve always like them but I think this one is here to stay. Friday nights they have a DJ so it’s a little more lively than most sushi places. Everyone that works there likes to have fun to say the least. But let’s talk about what really matters… the food. A few things they have that most sushi spots don’t. Poke bowls and sushi burritos. Both really good. Everything I’ve had there so far is clean, and by clean I mean it’s not soaking in spicy mayo and tempura flakes. Happy hour has some really good deals too.

Pretty good sushi here, and it appears this place is being revamped. It is now open for lunch! There was a bit of a mix up with my order but the food was really good. I recommend the T.J. roll and crab salad, my favorite’s. They are very willing to work with you and allow all kinds of customization or alterations to their recipes. It’s a nice place with two rooms of indoor seating, and darkly lit. Located in East Village Downtown it has easier accessibility from freeways. You are far less likely to get tortured with traffic and you should be able to park and walk around a little bit without it being a hassle. Servers were attentive, I think I could definitely try this place again due to the convenience of it’s location and their willingness to customize orders. Happy eating!

My mouth waters when I think about the sushi burrito they have here! YUM! My favorite! My husbands fave is the sin city roll. I’ve been here numerous times since they first opened. Love the location, vibe, service and food of course! Definitely try the edamame and go for the happy hour! Start here for dinner and sake then walk around downtown for a nice evening out. Highly recommend this place! :)

Hmmmm… Philly roll or Philadelphia roll? They are both on the menu and slightly different. Chances are that if you dine here and order one of these they will give you the wrong one, and then you’ll end up with a free roll as they prepare the one that they should have given you in the first place. When this situation happened to my friend and me on a recent visit, our waiter sighed deeply when we brought up the issue — you know this probably happens all the time: «Um, what roll is this?»(us) «(siiigh) it’s a Philly — no, it’s a Philadelphia roll»(waiter) How confusing for the kitchen and the servers! They really should rename the rolls! It was great that we got the mistake roll for free, as well as free garlic edamame — just check in on your Unilocal phone app, or ask for it if you’re gonna spend at least $ 20. We ordered three rolls(plus the fourth free one) and they were small and just okay to me, with not too much flavor except the Sin City roll which had yellow tail, krab, salmon, spicy tuna, ponzu and tempura. The tako(Octopus-topped roll) was pretty bland. Most of their rolls have raw red pepper which I found to be a little odd. The restaurant was pretty empty(we walked right in) just after 7pm on a Saturday. We just missed happy hour(5−7pm) which would have been buy-2-get-1 free rolls. Bummer. I’m kinda annoyed that I noticed the«specials» board in the middle of my meal which said you could get a dinner special for $ 15.95 that included soup or salad and a dessert along with your specialty roll. Would have been nice if our waiter told us about it!

I don’t get it. It is like The Twilight Zone. This space is haunted by a sushi hating entity that wants your money but cares nothing for your tummy’s happiness. Infuzion was here first and probably served about the worst sushi ever(talking about dry processed pram on the outside of a roll). Now this place is here and still a major disappointment. Upon entering the place had a weird smell. I noticed this and so everything after is pretty much my fault because I ignored my instinct to leave. It was just that I wanted to try the food and there was no one else there which makes it harder to sack up and leave. Anyway. Sitting down we put in our order. The owner noticed we needed plates and napkins. Then he started texting and forgot about us until we got annoyed and asked again. We. Were. The. Only. People. There. Edamame: free with Unilocal check in. Not like the other garlic edamame served at most places but in a good way. Fresh garlic and sesame seeds. My issue is they were undercooked and tough to wrench out of the shell. Spicy tuna roll: super average $ 5 Seaweed salad: $ 5 way overdressed and not fresh. Lame that they don’t go with pickled carrots. Waste of money. Dynamite roll: $ 9 reallllllllllllly small and not a specialty roll. It came with a huge amount of roe which I guess it cool but really it was not a great roll. Small, scant on flavor and fish, and lacking identity. Also, others have mentioned there is not a booze license. Their website makes no mention of this and when you enter you see many bottles of this or that. They are not for you! Give this place a pass and go somewhere you don’t have to hold your nose to eat, a place I hope that will serve you proper rolls and has good service.
