Honestly, working with this law firm has been a wonderful experience even though the entire family had to go through a difficult tie. We worked closely with them for months and never have I felt like we were just another client.
It was always easy to get hold of someone, whenever we need answers to our questions, legal advice or guidance through a difficult situation. They were always there for us, even during the slow times — when we had to wait on the continuances or when nothing was actually happening.

I am appreciative at how helpful Shana was. From the beginning Shana was professional and compassionate regarding my child custody and support case. I went to see Shana because the previous lawyer who I met just wanted to charge me a hefty amount. That’s just so crazy. I just needed a representative for my personal injury claim not someone who would milk me dry.
Shana was very welcoming indeed. Aside from here better rates she had this wonderful aura full of positivity. Shana is very knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions. It really made me feel like she really wanted to help me. Very different from the previous guy who didn’t take me seriously just because it was an easy case. I am so glad that I met Shana as she has helped me and brought me favorable results.

Shana is very kind and understanding, very realistic and doesn’t just tell u what u want to hear. She tells you what your chances are. In my case; I am trying to move away to a new state with my 3 ½ year old and fiancé who received a federal job offer. My x had my daughter about 10−15% of a month, generally every other weekend, sometimes even one weekend a month. My fiancé told him we will zero out the child support and fully support my daughter, just have my x give us written consent to move. My x said yes, then I evaluated the day care cost and rent and ext. and thought «my x is still her dad. She will still be coming to our home town on vacations and is going to see her and the cost of travel is not cheap. I don’t think I should zero out the support.» I gave my x a written offer letter, still lowering the support, he ended up flipping out when I handed it to him saying «I thought you said you can support her on your own, this is f*cked up!»
I told him to calm down and take time to think about the offers and he is still her dad regardless what state she is in and he will still see her often. He ended up getting a lawyer and serving me for full custody. Him and his girl friend are suddenly trying to see my daughter 50% and calling her every night to say goodnight, this never happened in the 3 ½ years of her life. I cleared a lot of debt and have a bit of extra money and put her in a good daycare with structure, she is learning a lot. I don’t want to throw her off and interrupt her day care schedule just because he wants to look good in court. My daughter is already very confused and tells me the whole drive to her dads that she doesn’t want to go. My x said he begged his manager to be off weekends, now he wants my baby half the week plus weekends. There are being spiteful towards me and messing up my daughters head which is very hurtful, he was so quick to sign her off when I said ill zero out the support.
Shana advised me not to give him all the days he wants and don’t be afraid to be bold just because we have a case. the time should remain the same. And the day care schedule shouldn’t be interrupted because his sudden eager to want her more so it can look good on his case. I am sure he didn’t tell his lawyer he was abusive to me and complains his child support is really high which is $ 350 a month. I am sure he failed to tell her he isnt even home with her on his days and leaves her with his girlfriends mom and girl friend and they already have a 2 year old together that that his in law watches.
Shana made me feel relieved and heard me out and guided me the right path.

Shana Black is a liar and a thief. She made me sign orders without explaining any of the ramifications. She still owes me $ 5000. She does not return phone calls, does not give any chance for you to meet her once she has taken your money. Its been 4.5 years, she is still evading me anytime I try to get my money back. She calls herself a christian but she is a liar and a thief.

Still a zero. So apparently my divorce is finalized (after continual badgering) as of May 21^st… I’m STILL waiting for the papers to come in the mail. Shoot, I even offered to pick them up from somewhere. Find someone else.

I just completed some work with this attorney and found her to be very on time and kept me in the loop continually.
My then ex was living in San Diego and it was nice to not have to fly there even once to take care of anything.
Shana managed to get her to sign some paperwork so we avoided all of the hassle of going through a long drawn out divorce.
Amazing attorney, and if you are a GUY I would hire her in a NY second!

Incompetent and unprofessional. Don’t waste your time or $. She’s nice when you first talk to her and then once she gets your $$$ you’ll spend all your time trying to track her down. She lied to me and to the court. She only did work when I threatened to take her to the Bar and even then she continued to lie to me. Don’t get fooled by her. Please take your legal problems to anyone else.

I suggest you pass this attorney up if you don’t want your case to be resolved in a timely manner. She will never return your calls and do bare minimum for your case to get by the courts.
