I am very picky about my hair and was looking for an expert in hair color. I called several places including the Honeycomb about what I wanted done. I spoke to Kendra and after looking at photos of her work, I decided to use her for my highlights. They turned out much better than expected and she was so patient with me! I must have asked her about a dozen times what she was doing, and she would stop and explain, reassuring me, and putting me at ease. My highlights turned out amazing and I can’t say enough good things about her. I highly recommend her for expert professional color!

Got a great haircut from Nicole the other week. It was a great experience from the moment I walked in. Warm and friendly greetings, calm and comfortable atmosphere. Nicole listened to what I wanted and put forth her professional opinion. Left looking great and feeling confident! Style has been easy to maintain and a fun change of look overall. Count me as a new regular!

Have never been to this salon, however I thought about buying a Groupon to see «Hector» at this salon, and when I called him to schedule an appointment, his first question was «do you have a groupon?» I replied «Yes, I do», and suddenly he was booked for over 2 weeks and the only availability he had was on certain days for me. SO NO THANKS HECTOR! I won’t be letting you touch my hair or get my money, its obvious where your priorities lie.

Nicole is AMAZING. She did a serious transformation on my hair, from long and brown to short and blonde, and I love it — it looks unbelievably natural! We talked ahead of time about the inspiration photo and she really listened to what I wanted and was honest about what she thought would work. She was also so accommodating in scheduling the appointment and did her best to find a time where I would be able to go in after work, which meant a late night in the salon and I appreciated it so much. She spent so much time on my hair making it look perfect. Plus, she is really easy to talk with — very funny! I trust her completely with my hair. I’m sad that I’m about to move, but will have to plan to make hair appointments when I’m back in town! I The salon itself is cute and in a great area. Highly recommended!

So Nicole has rocked my world of hair multiple times. She actually spoiled me… so I can’t go to any other hairdressers without leaving disappointed. She listens and is gentle with your hair (I have a sensitive scalp). She is incredibly talented. I went to her with a botch color job and she explicitly explained why my hair took the weird colors it did and completely fixed it! I’m hooked! She did an amazing ombré that left my hair strong and healthy to the ends. My hair ends up in better shape then when I first arrived even though I went several shades lighter.
She’s a hidden gem.

Found this salon on Unilocal and was able to book for the following week with Sue.
I needed my blonde touched up at the roots and I needed to be in and out quickly because I was studying for the Bar Exam at the time. She got me in early in the day and did a fantastic job (I usually drive the two hours up to LA to see my stylist).
I would definitely recommend her for all the blondies out there looking for a new stylist.

It had been years sense I had my hair done, I found The Honeycomb here on Unilocal, and read the reviews. I was thinking «make an appointment, and wait for a week or two to get in» I was very excited when Asked if I could make it in that same evening. The moment I walked in? I knew I was going to be happy with the results. Don’t know how she did it, but Sue, my Stylist knew exactly what I wanted, when I really didn’t know. lol What an amazing experience. I’m not much of a girlie girl, so this was a big deal for me. Thank you Sue for making it happen. I will be back.

Yea! Sue is awesome! I consider myself extremely lucky to have stumbled upon such a wonderful salon & a superb hairstylist within walking distance of my home! The salon is beautiful, bright & happy, with Hershey’s Kisses — attention to the little details are not missed and much appreciated! There was no vibe of pretension like you get from other salons — I felt quite relaxed & at home right away! Sue listened to what I wanted & delivered — plus more! She gave me an in-​between coloring option to limit the damage to my hair that I’d previously not been aware of! Mackie — you have a great salon with wonderful stylists! University Heights is fortunate to have you here. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ll be getting my hair done on a much more frequent basis from now on!

Beautiful salon with the best in hairstylists. I have been seeing Mackie forever and can’t imagine my life without him. Him and his co-​owner, Merna have created a wonderful experience from interior design to hiring only the best little bees. If you cannot get an appointment with Mackie, don’t hesitate to call Merna, Nicole or Colleen. They all work miracles. and just the experience of hanging out in the honeycomb will make you feel better.

Very fun salon with a relaxed, non pretentious vibe. Nicole is my stylist an has been for about 10 years now. She always does an excellent job, listens well but also puts her own creative input in with fantastic results. The other stylists are also super friendly and funny and you always feel very comfortable and a part of the «crew» while you’re there. Great neighborhood and walking distance to some great restaurants and bars if you want a drink or a bite to eat after your appointment. Kudos honeycomb!

Brand new salon with our old favorite buzz… The Hive Master, Mackie, will treat you right & make over that old nappy, wasp infested do… soon, you’ll be sweeter than Xylitol blackstrap molasses…
Interior design is well-​coiffed, with custom tile, funky honeycomb painted flooring in warm hues… parking, too, is a breeze with no limits & very few meters in the surrounding residential neighborhood.
The Honeycomb is Queen of the San Diego salons!
