Came for ice cream. Good price, nice outdoor seating. The ice cream itself wasn’t anything remarkable, good but not the best I’ve ever had. Service was quick & polite but not especially friendly.

Horrible service. The woman behind counter is grumpy and rude. She should be tossed in the bay.

$ 2 ice cream cones. That is all. The guy scooping it knew what we needed, Sprinkles and lots of it :)

I am updating my review from April. Some of the old crew are back and once again this small place is great. With the exception of the large blond lady the staff is friendly and the food is great. Great breakfast sandwiches and tasty panini. If the large blond lady is there go to Mitches next door.

I have been coming here since 2009. It is just steps from Point Loma Seafood. My mom loves the fish sandwiches. I don’t like seafood. I was excited to see there was an alternative. I love deli sandwiches. The Galley is small, but I was pleasantly surprised at the great selection. The food is always fresh and served with a smile. everyone I have met there is very friendly. Great food, service and a beautiful location. What more could you ask for? Anytime I am in Point Loma, this is on my list of preferred eating places. Thanks Pat

I have always had a good experience with this place. It’s near where we live so we will walk here for a scoop of ice cream on warm days. The service has always been awesome, and it’s fun to sit out at the tables look at the boats.

A little Gem for a quick and reasonable priced breakfast. We went here and had the breakfast burrito which was really good. We are from Long Island and love our breakfast sandwiches and this was just as good if not better.

The VERYBEST Clam Chowder I’ve ever had. When I used to go deep sea fishing, I would always stop in and order clam chowder. It’s right next to H & M Landing. What a pleasant surprise to find this hidden jewel. The chowder here surpasses any other I’ve had by a long shot, this includes the East Coast or any other Coast. The Galley is located in the back of H&M Landing so you wouldn’t expect a hole in the wall joint like this place serving up great food. I mean, for heaven sakes the store is next to stinky bait shops and is decorated with plastic furniture like McDonalds or Jack in the Box. Truly, the adult version of a Happy Meal in a Bread Bowl filled with the best tasting chowder you’ll ever have. It ‘s thick, creamy and buttery. It has just the right amount of chopped potatoes, It’s perfect! Boston has nothing over this place. Parking can be a real pain because the lot is mainly for the Charter Fishing outfits and once a spot is taken, it can be taken for days.

Good place to pick up some ice cream after point Loma seafood. Got 2 scoops and it fed my twins and a little for me and my wife.

I’ve been coming here since 2002 because I work next door(Although not often anymore). They’ve recently renovated the whole building and instead of being a snack bar style, they have doors now. This place is more than just ice cream. They also serve sandwiches, pizza, beer, soda, muffins, rice crispy treats, coffee, chips, candy, soup, chili, and toiletries(Lots of fishermen go on long-range fishing trips next door). The ice cream is really good, although I don’t get it often(I believe it’s Dryers). They have about a dozen or so flavors. The sandwiches are definitely my favorite though. They slice their own meat and cheese, so it’s deli style. The veggies are always fresh and crisp. It takes me back to my childhood, when my dad use to make great homestyle sandwiches. Service is great too. They have tables outside to sit on(nothing indoor) Point Loma Seafoods is right next door, so parking can get tight. Definitely check this place out if you want ice cream, as there’s not any other place in the area that I know of, plus it’s good. Or if you want a sandwich and don’t want crappy subway down the street.
