This place has the bomber bagels! I go in all the time with my dog and best friend. We get a vegetarian everything bagel. Literally it is mouthwatering! The ingredients they pack in is also very generous– plenty of avocado and cream cheese! The ladies are very nice who work there and the atmosphere is friendly with local neighborhood people gathering for a chat and coffee. I’m happy it’s close by to my house.

When its cold and foggy and sprinkling in San Diego, it’s the perfect time to grab a nice, warm bagel with cream cheese! Well, at least for me it is. After doing my recycling next to Vons, I had just enough money to nab a nice breakfast bagel for myself. After perusing the menu at this neat and friendly neighborhood bagel joint, I decided to settle on the Vegetarian Bagel: stuffed with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, avocado, and sweet pickles. I didn’t even know there was such a thing as sweet pickles, but it was there– and it tasted PERFECT. From the name, it doesn’t sound very substantial right? No way vegetables can fill me up. WRONG! When I got this bad boy in my paper to-go bag, I was astonished by the beast inside. The whole container had two wooden stakes sticking through it to hold the lid down to this beautifully large bagel treat. It was great. The smell of green onion tempted me the whole time while I was driving, tantalizing me to try to sneak a bite in the car. Finally, I got to try my veggie treasure. In my perfectly warm sesame bagel was a generous amount of vegetable cream cheese shmear(which had a great sour cream and onion taste), and a good amount of the promised veggies. Everything tasted wonderful together and wow– THOSESWEETPICKLES! I will be thinking about those for a while. Overall, this cute little bagel café is worth a revisit. After trying out a savory bagel, it makes me curious as to what sweet bagels this place has to offer.

Lovely meals like the way you get water with your meal. Breakfasts were nice too. Only downside no children’s portions or half portions Breakfast was top quality, bottomless coffee and in a traditional diner environment.

My favorite bagel shops are Jewish or Jewish-style delis.(My bias.) This shop has no obvious association with jewish food and is essentially an assimilated bagel store, just as America has assimilated so many ethnic cuisines that are generally less authentic than the real thing. I had an open face bagel plate with lox(okay) on a poppyseed bagel(also just okay) with tomato slices and capers. When ya gotta have bagels and lox, this place will do. If I lived in the area, I would surely have a favorite bagel shop and this would not be it. On the other hand, the counter person was efficient and friendly. Prices are appropriately low. Interesting clientele having a bagel brunch after church.

I woke up on a Sunday morning craving a bagel with cream cheese, and smoked salmon. After a quick Unilocal check and short drive to the Vons shopping center, lo and behold, I found the Daily Bagel! The Asian lady was very nice and patient as I tried to decide what to get. I finally decided on the Traditional sandwich(cream cheese, onions, tomatoes, capers and, what I was really craving, salmon!) on an everything bagel. It was so delicious. The toppings were generous, and the bagel itself was thick and bready. The service was friendly and efficient and I’ll come back to try the rest of the menu!

I’ve been in SD for 3.5 years. I’ve literally lived down the street for 2.5. How have I never tried this place?! It’s a very cute hole in the wall place. I got the Lox on an everything bagel. It was so good! I’m glad I finally tried it. I’d much rather go here than Einsteins. Einsteins might be good for just bagels and spread, but if you want a filled bagel, I’d definitely come here instead. The prices are good for what you get too!

This is a very cute, family-run bagel shop. My friend, Deborah, had their acai bowl and I got a regular onion cheddar bagel with cream cheese. The acai bowl was not overly sweet and had a good ratio of fruit to granola to acai. The bagel was perfectly toasted and well seasoned. This is definitely now my to-go bagel place.

I come here every Saturday after I go surfing for their traditional bagel on the works! It had an everything bagel with a layer of cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, onion, and capers. It seriously hits the spot every time! Love this place! It’s never a let down :)

I miss living near this place. Service is always delightful. I used to get the bagel special thing with your choice of bagel, egg, and meat? Vanilla chai tea latte also pairs well. BUT one day I discovered the acai bowl and I’ve been getting it ever since. So good, especially in the summer! Tried to make my own but it just isn’t the same.

Good acai bowl and my wife’s bagel was pretty tasty too. Iced coffee was decent too. The service was friendly and the there’s some nice outdoor seating where you can eat. Not an amazing place, but perfectly acceptable for a low key breakfast.

This place makes some simple food and drinks, but they make some good eats and beverages with friendly service, which these days, goes a long way. I stopped in on a early Saturday morning and order the Lox on an everything bagel with cup of English Tea. They put a good amount of good quality smoked salmon on the toasted bagel. The smoked salmon was quite nice and provided mild salty and smoky flavor, which obviously went very well with the creamy cream cheese, a it was meant to be. The tomatoes and onions were good and the capers had that traditional piquant flavor, which I liked. The everything bagel was toasted just right. The multitude of items on the bagel were not burnt, a common a occurrence when you toast everything bagels. All in all, a great lox to have for breakfast. The tea was pretty, even not being a loose leaf tea. The ladies who were working the morning I was there had great senses of humor. With god service and good food, I’m therefore a fan.

Really enjoyed this place. Went last week for breakfast with my boyfriend. I ordered the veggie bagel sandwhich on a jalapeño bagel it was awesome and super fresh! I also ordered a bakers dozen of bagels and cream cheese for my co workers and everyone loved them. Iced coffee was really good and no line on a Friday morning around 830 am. All and all I’m happy and I like supporting local business so I’ll be back.

This is by far my favorite bagel place in San Diego. I have been going here for years. I always order an egg a la bagel on a jalapeño cheese bagel with sausage. All that cheese and sausage is greasy, but delicious! The staff are also very nice too. Check it out.

Stopped by this little place with a friend and was really impressed with the service. Our bagels were served with smiles all around and it really made my morning. We both ordered the sausage, egg and cheese bagel sandwich. It was decently tasty, but to me the eggs and sausage needed some additional seasoning and/or salt. Grabbed a fresh juice and a tea and snagged some outdoor seating to soak up the sunshine. Overall I really did enjoy my breakfast, and would definitely come back because of the excellent customer service I received. Was having a pretty rough morning, so it was extra nice to see some smiling faces behind the counter.

Service was fast and friendly. Prices were average. My breakfast bagel sandwich was pretty lack luster, their lunch-type sandwiches sound better(more toppings). I’d go back though.

The Daily Bagel is just your typical mom and pop shop. local bagel spot! The nice thing about dropping by here is supporting your local eatery. There is a decent selection of bagels, not as large as Einsteins and Panera’s variety. They have good options for breakfast or lunch, as well as getting a cup of joe or tea. or even smoothies. My order today was bacon, egg, and cheese on Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel with iced chai latte. When I left I thought it was nice extra touch when the lady walked out from behind the counter to personally hand me my order with a smile :) sweet service! PROS: breakfast options, friendly local bagel shop, great iced chai latte! CONS: limited selection, $ 5 minimum when paying with card

I had the omelette which was okay. My husband had the tuna melt which I liked better. We also got a guava and a pineapple smoothie which I adore. Overall, not a bad spot for breakfast or brunch if you’re in the area but you’re not really missing out on anything if you don’t stop by.

I don’t eat bagels everyday nor do I get breakfast out everyday, but on occassion, I like a good bagel. I used to go to Einstein’s brothers and other chain fast food places for my bagel w/lox fix. The daily bagel is awesome. Nice, courteous staff who hurry to prepare your order to go and not nearly as expensive as the above mentioned restaurants. Highly recommended if you live in the area and would like a bagel or bagel sandwich. They also have egg sandwiches and other items on the menu I haven’t sampled yet, but I will return. 5⁄13 — had the egg bacon & cheese on a jalapeño bagel. It was delicious! The jalapeño bagel was not too spicy and added that perfect touch of heat and flavor.

Maybe it was because I came later in the day, but my bagel just wasn’t all that great. I came around noon and got a cheddar bagel with eggs, bacon, and cheese. The bagel was dry and was hard to chew, almost rubbery consistency. The eggs were okay, but the bacon wasn’t cooked well and there was only one small piece in my bagel. The bagel was much smaller than I would have liked. I did like that they had a lot of ways to have your bagel, but if you really want a good quality bagel I would go to Einstein’s instead.
