I’m from Tucson where sadly we do not have Coffee Bean so anytime I find one I’m in heaven. The coffee is always amazing and service is awesome!

This coffee bean is located in the quieter part of point Loma on Voltaire and Catalina. There are plenty of cute shops around this location and the neighborhood is quite quaint . This place is much cheaper than Starbucks, and is a good change from the dark and dismal set up. It’s very bright with large windows and a view of the street. There is free wifi here(high speed) . Service is amazing. They greet you as you walk in and bid you a farewell as you leave. They walk around offering samples. I tasted the cot chocolate and caramel cake, which were both delicious . The staff is very knowledgable and can walk you through the coffee and tea menu without a problem. This place serves food as well(sandwiches, fruit, desserts) Mid day this place is pretty noisy, but still not too crowded . The bathrooms are very clean. And there is a patio as well ! The only downfall is that they are only open until 8 pm . I give this place 5 stars for location and 5 stars for service.

I stopped in to the Coffee Bean on my way to work to change things up a bit. I usually go to starbucks :/Let me tell you that I am now a Coffee Bean Loyalist. As I entered the shop I was greeted with a friendly smile/hello and felt comfortable right away. Barista Kristen made the best Chai Tea Latte. Big thumbs up!!!

Decent place, come in quite often since I’m such a coffee addict I’ve come in and most of the times its great! There has been two times that I’ve been charged for a drink I normally pay 5.29 for and they charged 7.25. Not the greatest customer service on that end… Wouldnt you care if you paid 2 dollars extra… Twice? That’s almost the price of a coffee.

I like this location because it’s really clean, spacious and the workers are nice. I also just love the ice at the Coffee Bean in general. The only thing that sucks is that you have to drive around in order to get it if you come from a certain direction but it’s not Coffee Bean’s fault so it’s fine.

I mean the coffee’s good. Some of the seasonal drinks aren’t really up to par but I just avoid getting those now. The main thing is just the uncomfortable feeling I get when I walk in. I usually take a minute to decide what I’m in the mood for but even when no one else is in the store I feel like I’m being pressured into ordering as fast as possible. The baristas are just like staring into my soul with so much anticipation for what im about to order. Also I just don’t like how the try to push all their baked goods and stuff when I just want a cup of coffee. Its like «is that going to be all for you today» «Yepp thats it» «Youre sure you don’t want a muffin or something?» «Nope im good thanks» «Well how about a banana?» Im good thank you I would tell you if I wanted something else.

Love the space, it has quite a bit of seating areas. BUT be advised, if you come here in the afternoon, there will be a swarm of kids coming through when they get out of school. So if you are ok with teen chit chatter, this is not too bad. For me, headphones help. Ps, don’t try the new Thai tea. I’m a huge Thai tea fan, this one is not pretty…

I started going here after I moved to Pt. Loma and I am very happy to be a regular customer. After only a few visits, the staff knew my name and order(large black coffee with a bit of almond milk). I am usually there around 6:30AM and the place is relatively empty and quiet. The staff ensures that the start of the day is pleasant! Thank you!

This is a great little shop with a ton of outlets for computers which makes it ideal for studying or doing homework. It has a wide variety of seating from the bar and oversized chairs to outside comfy patio furniture. The parking sucks and the street is busy but thats not really their fault. I love this chain so in glad there was one put up in PL/OB! Get the Black Forest blended, it’s amazing. Staff has been nothing but professional and always delivered my drink to my table when I was on the computer which is really cool.

I live probably 50 yards away so the convenience is second to none. This was the first Coffee Bean I’ve ever had, I’m usually a Starbucks or hole in the wall person, but The Coffee Bean has better soy chai latte’s than Starbucks in my opinion. I’ve also gotten the blood orange tea was also fantastic. The patio is awesome for relaxing with pups and everyone working there has always had a smile on their face and have been really nice.

Nice to have a Coffee Bean in the area. The day it opened it instantly became the best coffee in the Pt Loma/OB area(not a major achievement). No parking to speak of. I guess they don’t need it. The OB slacksters just skate in and the Pt Loma trophy wives are happy to park at the 7 – 11 across the street.

While the décor of this coffee bean is excellent, I do not feel comfortable that the staff decide if they trust you to give you a glass rather than a plastic cup. I had told them I am drinking it here but they are giving me a plastic cup anyway, while I see that for some patrons they are given the glasses. I would rather they give out plastic cups to all patrons instead. Feeling uncomfortable being treated differently.

This place is within walking distance of my house so I can’t say much about the availability and ease of parking, but I do know there is street parking next to the shop. The staff is, for the most part, very good despite this being a brand new location. I’ve been to the location about 4 times, and each time has been a positive experience. If you want a bite to eat, all their bagels are pretty great and their whipped cream cheese is my favorite. There is a lot of space to study, many outlets, and it’s never too crowded. Great study location.

New spot a few blocks walk from my place in OB with lots of space for studying and super friendly staff. I’ve basically taken up a second residence here now thanks to nursing school and not only do I love blended coffee drinks more than any other coffee shop hint hint sbux but the staff even replaced my drink I spilled everywhere without me even asking for a replacement. I was moving from inside to the outdoor area and dropped an iced coffee and they brought me a brand new one just the way I like:)(iced, splash of coconut almond milk, hazelnut)

It’s great to have a little coffee shop w/shaded pleasant, dog-friendly patio in this part of Pt. Loma. Wish it wasn’t a chain, and the prices seem a bit high — but I suppose they’re in line w/most coffee shop prices these days. Best to walk or bike here if you can; good luck finding a parking place! There’s a couple 15-minute spaces in front; that’s it. Opted for the simple iced coffee — just 5 calories, and $ 2.49. Dash of cinnamon. Really good flavor. They could use a water dish on the patio for the pups. Will be back, but next time will be by bike!

It’s okay. The drinks never taste the same(meaning, different baristas make the same drink differently) sometimes too strong, too sugary, too little syrup, etc. They have a great outdoor sitting area that’s shaded and pet friendly; all they need is a few dog dishes for water. The store is always clean(inside and outside). They no longer do their happy hour from 3 — 5(as of Aug 15, 2015) which was a reason I liked coming here so much. They do have a military discount which is why they will continue to have my daily business

I have to admit, I am a fan of the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf chain, and after my visit at this location, I certainly reinforced that notion. I ordered an item I have never tried, the Quinoa Zucchini Breakfast Bite and their Medium and Smooth Drip Brew. The Quinoa Zucchini bite was much moister than I thought it was going to be and to top it off, it tasted quite good too. It was not large, not was it petite like those mini scones you find at other places. Honestly, it was just the right size for a healthy snack. The Coffee was no doubt a medium roast with good smoothness. It was rich with a mildly robust flavor. It was an easy coffee to drink straight black. The employees were quite friendly and full of positive energy. The came around was tasters of their new latte, the Cherry Blossom Vanilla Latte, which was very good, which I put on my to try list. I used their free Wi-Fi for a while via my laptop and it was good. It had a few hangs, but other than I was able to get some work done.

Want to give this a place a better review since it is down the street from me. The service is so slow. I had one person in front of me and it took me 15 min to get my drink. I can go to Starbucks and there can be a line of 5+ people and it would go faster. I suggest the management get their staff trained faster and maybe staff more…

I live less than a quarter mile away from this new coffee bean location so I was super excited to start getting my coffee so conveniently every day. My first impression of the new location was positive upon first walking in. It looks amazing and totally polished. Almost like an art gallery or something. As I walked up to the register to order, I was«greeted» by a not so happy barista named Paris. Customer service is everything… So when I asked her what she thought about mixing a couple of different latte flavors, she replied shortly and rudely as if I were wasting her time. I even reworded my question thinking she may have not understood me and she replied with the same exact answer as before. No one was in line behind me, and she couldn’t give me any information on the new flavors that came out recently either. I know this girl is probably new based on the fact this is a new location, but there is no excuse for having such terrible customer service. A smile might be nice here and there.

Anticipation is building for the expected July 13th grand opening of the latest java joint to grace the Point Loma peninsula. While there are several Starbucks – including three drive-thru’s and a popular Peet’s Coffee next to Fresh & Easy up near the wooded area, this will be the first Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. While I am no fan of the over-sized and built right up to the edge of the property line Famosa Townhomes that recently were stuffed into the lot, I am a fan of Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. And this Point Loma Heights neighborhood will surely welcome another caffeine purveyor into their unique corner of the world. Kids from nearby Correia Middle School will drop in for something to drink, My main concern here? TRAFFIC! And PARKING! Congestion builds every rush hour at this intersection of Voltaire & Catalina Blvd., as civilian and military workers rush to their jobs or rush home from their jobs at the Navy Lab at the end of the Point. Cars back up for several blocks as agitated motorists jockey to gain position to get on that Nimitz ramp to hit the freeway. Watching this(or sitting in it) is not conducive to a leisurely coffee or tea-sipping experience nearby. Why I am deducting 1 UnilocalSTAR for this new place? PARKING! Where on God’s green earth are these new patrons expected to park their cars to run in for their jolt of java? Voltaire Street is already maxed out and I do not think the 7⁄11 across the street cares to share their parking lot? Domino’s and the Café next door will probably not be eager to provide any access either. It will be quite the quandary to see how this all plays out in July when the newest Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf throws open their doors to the world.
