The Bird Rock Massage Studio

I was referred by a friend, they bought me a gift certificate. After my first massage I was hooked. I signed up that day for the monthly membership. I’ve seen a few of the massage therapists and all have been great.

Absolutely amazing! I love the fact that this place is small and cozy, it really gives you a nice feel — you can tell they put a lot of effort into the place.
My boyfriend lives in the area and I found BR massage here on Unilocal and decided to surprise him with a couples massage for us. I wish I could remember the names of our massage therapists because they were both so wonderful. My boyfriend and I both drifted off into our own worlds for the next 60 minutes, it was pure heaven. It was such a treat for us and we look forward to coming back soon! Thank you for the lovely experience.

I recently received a gift certificate for a massage here, so I finally got to try this place out, and I’m glad I did! Heather did my massage, and she was so amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever had body work done from someone as knowledgable as she is before. The bed was warm, the room was spotless, and she even used hot towels to help loosen my tight muscles up. I am still feeling the relief from my 75 minute massage the next day, which usually never happens! The studio was super clean and peaceful. I am extremely sensitive to energy, and I can tell you for certain there are only good vibes in this place! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, which just helps the whole experience be even better. I strongly recommend this place over any other massage studio in the La Jolla or PB area, and I will definitely be back!

When I was living in PB, I visited this massage studio as often as possible.
Each masseuse on staff is phenomenal. The space is absolutely stunning (albeit small). The rooms are dimly lit, clean, and intimate. You may fall asleep you are in such bliss!

I did a couples massage with my boyfriend. We had Lori (my therapist) and Heather (boyfriend’s therapist). Lori was quick to getting me set up with my appointment when something was wrong with the system. You have to find street parking. The studio only has a few rooms. When we entered the studio, we were greeted by Lori. She offered us water while we filled out a page of paper work. Once we completed the paper work, we were walked to the massage room. We talked to each of our therapists and they left us so that we could get on our massage tables. While getting massaged, I could not feel the presence of Heather even though she was in the same room (the massage tables were close)! The pressure for each of us was good. Lori had maintain a firm pressure for me. Both Lori and Heather synced well together because my boyfriend and I turned over at the same time plus both ladies completed our massage at the same time. We also got hot towels during and after the massage which helped a lot ! Lori apologized for the noise when the garbage men came by.

Just finished my 90 minute massage with Shana. It was wonderful. I found this spot while visiting/​vacationing in Bird Rock. I love that they have a little sign outside the studio that tells you what openings they have for the current day and next day.
Shana was very thorough, checked in on pressure and listened when I asked for deeper work in specific areas. I would highly recommend a 90 minute, particularly when you receive $ 10 off as a new client.

Had the most fantastic massage from Lori! She is knowledgeable, personable and the experience was over way too soon! I’ve had lots of massages and she was awesome! I’ll be back!

Got package deal. But scared to go back told the women I do heavy lifting with my job and I don’t think she took it into consideration. The massage was so hard that it left me in pain for over a week in a half. Now I have coupons and don’t know if I’ll be back. To scared.

I had the best message ever!!! The staff was friendly and kind. They really want you to enjoy your time at there spa. In a cute area of la Jolla which is of course beautiful. I would recommend this place for sure!!!

Had some soreness/​stiffness in my back and shoulders and was in need of a massage.
Luckily I scheduled my appointment on a Monday as their prices reflect the member pricing that day. I went with a 90 min massage and requested someone that can give a firm or deep massage. I have quite a bit of knots and they definitely needed to be loosened.
First of, the studio is a bit small– but they maximize what they have. All the ladies that worked there seemed pretty nice and helpful.
I was scheduled with Miranda for my massage. She definitely delivered on the firmness. There were a few areas that felt a bit tender, but she kept going to work it out– in a good way. She focused on all the areas of concerns and added some areas that are related or can affect my shoulders (as that was my main concern). Miranda also gave me feedback on how my body was, and it was good to hear that it wasn’t as bad as I thought.
The price was a little more than I was originally intending on spending, but after the massage– it was worth it.

This place is a hidden gem. I’ve been in a handful of times now and have had a phenomenal experience each time. All of the ladies here are so gifted. The pricing is also surprising reasonable, and I’m so glad I invested in a membership. PS– Wendy is a miracle worker!

Excellent customer service. My husband and I had a couples massage, which was reasonably priced and then further price reduced with a first time discount. Even though we arrived late, they managed to accommodate us for the full hour scheduled. Both therapists were friendly and knowledgeable. The space was clean and comfortable. We found free street parking without issue.

I absolutely love this place! I have been a regular client for a couple of years. It has been the best investment in my health & well-​being. These lovely ladies are so well educated in massage and healing. I love the clean, relaxing atmosphere and nice decorating. The pricing is comparitively reasonable but the value is priceless! You will feel like a new person !

This is such a lovely, accommodating massage studio! All the ladies are very pleasant to speak with, and they are so attentive to each client’s needs. They are very flexible with their scheduling and will work with you to find a time that fits — even if it is super last minute! (They have a great online scheduling tool as well if you are checking your schedule on the go.) The ladies all have their strengths and specialties, but I don’t know if you could go wrong with anyone. Lori was EXCELLENT during my last visit, and she was so connected and in tune to what was best for my body while also being incredibly pleasant to talk to.
I would highly recommend paying them a visit in this great location in Bird Rock — and there is plenty of shopping, eateries, and ocean views not far away when you’re in the area. Thanks for making me feel so great, Lori and co. I look forward to my next appointment!

I hurt my back pretty bad yesterday and was in dire need of a massage. I had an appointment with Shayna first thing this morning and it was amazing. It’s always so nice to go to a place where you feel comfortable and relaxed. I never regret going and always wish I could go more. Not to mention there’s a killer coffee shop across the street that has some amazing tea.

I love this place! I’ve had sessions with Olivia & Shana and they are completely amazing! Every time my body/​muscles are sore & in pieces from the hardcore workouts throughout the week, I find some time to go there and when I leave the session Im a new person thanks to their magic, lol.
Can’t go wrong with this place! Must try!

My boyfriend and I went in to celebrate our anniversary, I was so excited, my boyfriend however was skeptical.
It started with of course us running about 10 minutes late we got there on time however parking is horrible there. We parked about two blocks away in a residential neighborhood. I called and left a message, and when we got there they still accommodated us.
Now to the fun part! We undressed to our level of comfort and were in a beautiful relaxing couples massage room with music softly playing and dim lights. The massage was AMAZING, with lotion, warm towels, it was all we wanted and more. My boyfriend was so pleased with the massage he almost fell asleep. We will be back very soon to the Bird Rock Studio.

My husband and I scheduled a couple massage here for our anniversary. Because the drive down to La Jolla took way longer than expected, I had to call and let them know we were not going to make our 1:00 appointment. When I spoke with Shana, she was very helpful and rearranged some appointments to give us another 45 minutes to get there. That was hifive #1. Once we were there, we were greeted warmly by Olivia and Claudia. The massage was more than amazing. My husband feel asleep face down and I feel asleep face up lol. It was great and really relaxing.
Plus, for it being our very first time there, they gave $ 10 off per person. I have never heard of such a thing at a message studio, but this is definately another hifive! All in all, we loved it and it was a great beginning to our anniversary weekend. Beware, parking is a bit of hassle because it’s only street parking and it’s in a busy area, so please arrive early.

Lori is one of the best massage therapist I have ever gone to. I work out a lot and I am literally the most knotted up persons I’ve ever heard of. She gets me all loose, relaxed and feeling great every time I have seen her in the last year. She knows the body really well and is very knowledgeable of what needs work. I always get 90 minutes and I am never disappointed. Also, she is the opposite of a wimpy inexperienced therapist. She is funny and has a great uplifting spirit. I highly recommend Lori!
My only real complaint about the Bird Rock Massage Studio is the bathrooms are outside and inconvenient and the outside noise can get loud while in the massage depending on which room you are in.
