One of my favorite cafes ever! Family run with super friendly service. Yummy home cooked food. Great variety of drinks. Veggie friendly. And the outdoor space is amazing and cozy.

Amazing Acai Bowl, amazing coffee, amazing atmosphere, and amazing service. This is my new favorite place! Instantly the wonderful people who worked there made me feel like I was home. Very polite, kind, caring and accommodating. The acai was the best I’ve ever had. It’s hard for me not to come here everyday!!!

I’ve been going here for a while now. I love the place and the friendly vibe. The problem I have is with the uneven pricing. I always bought the same drink and was charged $ 4. That’s a fair price and I was glad to pay it and support a local OB business. Occasionally I was only charged $ 2.75 or $ 3.50 for my drink. Whenever this happened I tossed the extra money into the tip cup. Well, the last time I went in they tried to charge me $ 4.80 which I can’t afford so I had to leave. I tried reaching out to them but they have no online presence so I’ve unfortunately stopped patronizing them.

I had the most wonderful experience at Te Mana Café. I visited here to try their coffee(of course) and also to photograph photos for a personal project of mine. The honey vanilla latte was delicious and the service I received was off the charts! Everyone was friendly and welcoming and made me feel like I was right at home. Te Mana does not disappoint. One of the best in the San Diego area.

I’m always on the look out for a fun, relaxing place to enjoy a coffee and bagel after running my puppy at Dog Beach in the morning! Te Mana is a cute old house transformed into a coffee shop, tons of character and Hawaiian décor, and being dog friendly adds to the charm! I had a huge mug of hot tea with fresh lemon slices and honey and ordered the Dread Lox bagel, absolutely delicious! The staff was extremely sweet, had no problem letting me bring my puppy inside to order my food, I sat out front on their patio, plenty of tables, some in the sun but also a ton a shaded areas! I will definitely become a regular in the mornings from this point on!

Love love love! Beautiful patio, delightful staff and KAVA! I swear I was just asking a friend the other day where I could find kava in OB. I feel like hookah lounges are easier to find than kava places and certainly less stinky. In addition to a multitude of traditional coffee options I was stoked and pleasantly surprised to find that Te Mana also offers kava(with coconut water or sparkling water). I’m not kava connoisseur but– I appreciate it’s relaxing without intoxicating properties as well as the fact it doesn’t contain caffeine. Kava is made from a root and can be made into drinks or teas. It’s known to ease your mind — anxiety, stress etc — while still maintaining clarity. Unlike booze or cannabis, you can still maintain clarity. You may find it also helps you to fall asleep at night, only without a hangover! The patio is delightful and filled with tropical plants and the café just got a sweet keg tap! I think I know where I’ll be spending my productive afternoons.

Came here today for the first time… and stayed all day! Met the coolest people, staff was so friendly and charismatic, food & drink delicious and nutritious, lovely patio area and comfortable inside, solid wifi for a full day of work, and my pup was very welcomed. Oh, and the music… the perfect playlists, blues, rock, and some jazzy new artists. Love this place, will definitely be back. All you want in a café, and more!

This place has such a nice calm vibe when you walk in. They have a cute patio with lots of shade so it gets a bit cool and drafty. They have a lot of neat plants and birds that hang out in said plants. The menu looks great nice selection(grossly over priced) but hey whatever give them a chance, right?! Wrong. Okay so I walk up to the counter to order and I swear I know I am in OB but the dude was on something because I couldn’t even get him to answer simple questions about the menu he had to evoke help form the barista who quickly left the place as if she was off I guess. Anyway he had no idea what was in a steam bun that sit on the counter and isn’t found on the menu. Whatever get past that; I ordered a bagel for my mother, a Hawaiian plate for my daughter and a smoothie for myself. Knowing that we all will end up sharing anyway. These items ring up to over $ 30. Fine whatever my older sister recommends the place so I stay optimistic. 15ish min later the food comes, sans smoothie. We begin eating and the same guy who had trouble taking my order has clearly forgotten the smoothie so my sister goes in and asks & he apologies and says it will be right out. 10 mins later we are getting ready to leave everyone is done so we clear our own plates and my mother goes to ask about said smoothie. He tells her that the smoothie is in the line of drinks to be made and he would bring it out when it is done. He says there’s lots of drinks to be made and ends up ticking off my mother(thanks sir)! So long story short about 5 to 10 mins later the smoothie comes out in a togo cup thank goodness & I no longer want a smoothie I give it to my daughter and sister and we head out. At least they are smart and have you tip when you pay in the beginning. But I doubt I will be back on my own accord ever. Food was decent, but service killed it.

This seriously has to be my favorite café of all time. Darling and personalized Hawaiian vibe, coffee, food, booze, family owned and operated and dog-friendly! I’m a writer, so you know I hit a lot of these type places. It’s rare I’m this wowed!

If you love the café scene of Austin you’re gonna love this place. This place not only has the most awesome staff who remembers your name but also great coffee and the cutest porch area and front garden. It’s affordable and in a great location

I had the egg wrap with basil and avocado — egg browned and kind of hard. No salt! I had to open it up to salt it. The Mexican iced mocha was very tasty though! A little too pricey for the quality of food.

I’ve been to Te Mana Café several times now, and I have no complaints. The service is always very friendly and helpful, the owner is wonderful, and the food is very good. Of special note is the outdoor dining area that imparts a very serene vibe that’s perfect for OB. I really enjoy sipping coffee and eating under the trees. I also like the surf boards that are used for décor! I can’t remember everything I’ve had, but one item was the Morning Mana breakfast sandwich. It consists of eggs, havarti cheese, and basil on a croissant. Delicious! I’m sure I’ll be back to try other dishes because it’s within walking distance of my apartment. Every Tuesday there is an OB Networking Group meeting, and I think it’s very cool that the owner lets it happen and doesn’t charge anything. However, I think Te Mana would really benefit from an Online presence, but the owner doesn’t want anything to do with the Unilocal page or even creating a website. Strange.

I’m such a huge fan of this place I’m not even sure I want to write a review. I want to keep it all to myself in all it’s wonderful neighborhood gem glory. Next time I’m getting an acai bowl but this time I had a lox bagel and a cappuccino and was in heaven!!! So amazing. I love the atmosphere. Super surfer chill vibe and lots of enclosed seating area. Order at the register and they bring it to you. I’m in love

Love at first sight! Te Mana truly captures the spirit of OB and SoCal — just a cute, relaxed little coffee shop that could’ve been someone’s house at one point. It makes you feel like your friend is making you breakfast! What brought me here in the first place was that it’s very dog friendly, and my friend and I needed some breakfast before a beach adventure with our pups. The outside looks so tropical and ‘beachy’ with all the plants and trees and flowers. The patio is surprisingly spacious and clean and well kept, and the inside is cozy and quaint. Prompt friendly greetings from the barista who didn’t pressure us at all as we indecisively stood at the counter and perused the menu. When we finally made up our minds, a really friendly laid back gentleman took our orders(and said hi to our dogs!) and we got our coffees right away and then sat outside and they brought us our bagels. I got an everything bagel with fresh avocado(you can’t call yourself a San Diegan if you don’t love ripe avocado!) and my friend got a bagel with cream cheese — we keep it simple. My latte was perfect and my avocado bagel was exactly what I needed for breakfast today. Once again, I loved the tropical surfer socal vibe. I felt so relaxed and happy just being here drinking my coffee. The staff was so nice and laid back yet efficient. The patio and landscaping was great, I saw a cute little tomato plant! Anyway, today was my first of what I’m sure will be many many visits. Definitely my new favorite and you have to stop by if you’re in OB, which you should be, because it’s awesome :)

I’m always in search of a good acai bowl and this place definitely hits the spot. The acai is a slightly watery but barely noticeable. This place adds a drizzle of honey which makes it taste that much better. I also tried a turkey sandwich here which was just ok. They have several different delicious flavors of coffee including some Hawaiian themed. Ambiance is small, home-y and just a short walk from the beach!

Came in Monday morning, Memorial Day for a coffee and a quick eats before deciding what we were going to do for our holiday. It was later in the morning and this place was busy. There were mommy groups everywhere. It’s a cute place but… Meh. The cashier was kind of in her own world when we walked up to the register… Finally someone nudges her and says there’s a line and she comes over and asks our order. We tell her medium dirty chai, uhhhh, medium black coffee, and a Haole bagel. She’s typing SOMETHING in and says«wait, what? What’s your order?» Not sure if she was high but it took 3 tries. All to go please. Got it. We wait around for a bit which wasn’t a problem but the barista never called out the chai she placed it. So I’m not sure how long it was on the counter for until someone brought it over warm. And the bagel came out on a plate when we asked to go. The food itself was delicious. The Bagel was had a nice crunch to it and the combination of flavor was great but not overwhelming. The dirty chai was a little strong but woke me up. Wish it was hotter. The place is really laid back and cool but not for me. There was a mommy group with the baby just running around and they were playing drums and maracas to get the babies attention and there were dogs. It was too cold to sit outside too so there was just a lot going on for such an early morning. I don’t know if it’s always like that. I’ll go back when it’s less chaotic and try again.

Absolutely delicious acai bowl(get the Maui Acai Bowl). Perfect amount of toppings, especially the granola which usually gets way too overloaded. The price was a little bit more on the steep side at I think around $ 7 – 8 for a small, but the small is definitely a substantial size. My parents RAVE about their coffee, but I did not get a chance to try it. The outside patio is a cute area to hang out and enjoy a nice day out. The service was extremely slow. The employees were very nice, but it took probably around 20 minutes for them to bring out our two acai bowls. The acai bowl was so good that it made up for the slower service. I would definitely come back again but maybe not on a weekend!
