…Tango closed. I’m sad. I loved this place so much. I hope Cindy and Siri open something new soon!!!

Stopped by here one night when we saw they were having a «blind tasting» from Spain. 3 ½ glasses for $ 10. If you guess them correctly, you get a free glass of your choice of them. Not a bad deal. We stepped on in. The sommelier/attendant that evening did his thing, gave us the low down and presented our first glasses. Which were SKIMPY! They were not the half glasses to be expected. We looked at each other kind of puzzled but began our tasting. He was trying to use up what was left of the bottles without having to open new ones. Kinda not cool. Another couple came in after us and so M was then forced to open new bottles to accommodate and the glass levels went up from there. Better, but we still felt a little slighted for the short pour of the first glass. M did redeem himself in the end, by rewarding me with a ½ glass, when I guessed 2 out of 3 correctly and suggested a bottle that he had opened earlier. A Malbec, that turned out to be fantastic. *I just read that they are closing at the end of the month, so get there while you can.

The staff at Tango is very friendly and knowledgeable and they have a great selection of very nice wines. They also have some great events that I’d love to check out in the future, in particular PMS Wednesday where you can get 2 glasses of wine, pizza and snacks for $ 10!

Fun, relaxing, and extremely enjoyable. This place has it all! A few friends and I got together there and it was the best reunion we have had in a while. Great wine selection, and even though it has minimal food selection it was awesome that we were allowed to order food from one of our favorite Little Italy restaurants. I would recommend this place to anyone! The staff is great and unlike Wine Steals(which I like as well), this place isn’t insanely crowded and is extremely easy to talk to people. TANGOWINE you are AWESOME!

Great place for a tasting of some fabulous wines. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They steered me in several directions and each was on the money. Close to several of the Little Italy galleries.

This place ROCKS! Lisa is awesome — makes sure that you are happy and full of wine at all times, and offers some great deals. No corkage and a free movie??? Yes, please! Husband and I shared a bottle of a Syrah rose and watched Sherlock Holmes for a fun Monday evening, all for $ 11. AND, she poured 2 glasses to start us off because the wine we chose from the retail section was not chilled yet, and she couldn’t possibly have her guests without a glass in hand :-) I believe they are also showing a movie next Monday: come early to get your wine on, movie begins at 7pm. There are $ 5 very full glasses of wine for movie nights(this one was a Malbec). Ample parking within 10 feet; a lovely occurrence in San Diego. If you’re hungry, they have a cheese plate from Vennisimo($ 12) and chocolate from Eclipse($ 6-ish). Very casual, easy atmosphere, comfy seats, and reasonable prices — a perfect combo. See y’all on Monday!

This wine shop is strongly weighted towards wine tasting and socializing versus their retail wine sales. They have plenty of chairs and a sofa seating area. The smallish bottle selection is stocked with a lot of easy drinking wine that you can enjoy in-shop. Alot of the bottles are under forty dollars and not meant for aging. Though the retail floor space is sort of categorized by wine region, there’s not much depth to choose from. Super nice staff.

If you LOVEWINE then tango is the place for you! I have been here several times for wine tasting events & always remember leaving happy & tipsy. ;-) Good times! This is why I recommend this place… *Good variety of wines — red, whites, bubbly, from Cali to Spain to South America *Reasonable prices — where else can you get wine for $ 3 a glass? *No corkage fees on bottles of wine purchased here *Knowledgeable staff — I was here for a wine tasting event once & the sommelier was drawing on a white board where exactly in Spain the wine we were going to taste was from! *Great owners — female, very friendy & ready to answer any of your questions *Great events — PMS Wednesday(1st Weds of month): $ 10 for wine tasting, chocolate & cheese… haven’t been, but how can I resist three of my favorite things! Just signed up for their e-mail list so I could know about future events!

Rainy day and I found my way to this hidden jewel in little Italy… tango wine co. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very informed and helpful staff. Markus rocks! He recommended a fabulous wine and shared as much as needed and made me feel as if I was having a glass in his home. As a person that loves wine I find it difficult to always find friends available when I just want to go tasting. This is highly recommended for anyone but if you are flying solo go to tango on Saturdays and sip and chat with Markus. A great investment!

My sister and I accidentally stumbled into this place one night in Little Italy and I am so happy we did. We managed to get in on a wine tasting and even after they were closed, we didn’t get the boot because we were still drinking and socializing. The wine selection is good, the only downside is the seating. It didn’t feel very comfy… I was unsure where I should stand or hover.

A good selection and very reasonable. No cork fee and you can bring in food while you enjoy your glass of wine. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. A great place to write a blog post while enjoying a glass of wine. On a Friday night this is the place to be if you are looking for a quiet place to actually have a conversation! The staff is friendly, attentive, and engaging.

The staff really struggled to answer my questions and to explain the selection using«wine language». I asked for a Chardonnay that was not oaky and from a stainless container. They looked at me, pulled out bottles from the fridge, and started to read the labels. Wow, thanks I could have done that. The only reason I’m giving them 2 stars is because my friend had a bday party here and we were able to bring in food.

«No corkage fee, No cry.» Pros: –Decent selection of wines, decent prices. –No corkage fee Cons: –The décor looks like a furniture store… no feng shui. sniff sniff

Good selection of wines. I attended a birthday party here and there was a great set up in the corner with a variety of wines selected by friends. Intimate venue and the two guys who were there were very nice. I loved how they introduced themselves and were extremely gracious hosts. Good place for group, but plan for transition when another group is scheduled to attend close to your event. They need to work on the merchandising. They miss all the fine details that goes into making a statement about making it shoppable. Some furniture pieces just seem out of place and make areas look cluttered. Less is sometimes more. Gotta work on the music, you’d be better off if you just used Pandora.

Friday night Latin wine tasting was a flop and horrible. It was so bad I will never go back. My biggest disappointment was that we had been there before and I brought a group of friends hoping to impress them. I kept on waiting for Ashton K to jump out with a camera crew from You Got Punked because I couldn’t belive how awful the service was. We were not greeted or informed about anything on how to begin the wine tasting. One person who we finally figured out was a server asked us to move the tables and chairs if our group wanted to sit together. Really? We have to pull you off your cell phone to seat ourselves but actually do the moving of tables and chairs? Ok, sure. We finally get waited on and our first tasting was the server bringing over two bottles of whites with little to no exlpanation on what the wines were, the region, flavors, etc. A quick splash and she disappears again to party with her friends. We then sat looking around for about 10 minutes watching the owners enjoy their private party and complete lack of interest with what their customers were having to go thru to get a second pour. I would have rather served myself and at least read the back of the bottle to try and figure out what was what. I commented to the server we were ready to go as the wait was ridiculous and the service insulting she surprising replied, «oh, ok — I will bring you your check». There was no apology or attempt to make better. Another 15 minutes goes by and still no check. We flag down another girl who brings us the bill and it was wrong. They tried to charge us for a sausage tray that we didn’t have. We did make the mistake of ordering the new cheese tray. This was laughable and I wonder what garbage dumpster they took it out of. It was about 5 quarter size pieces of cheddar cheese, 6 ritz crackers and a few dime size dried apricots on a plastic plate. Wow! Really? Seriously? $ 15? I noticed a previous review commented«not your typical wine bar» –nailed it. I hope someone invested in this place won the lottery or has a huge family trust fund to bank on because if they are relying on bringing in customers based on service — the doors will be closed soon. If you want to feel like you are unwanted, unwelcomed and crashing a private party — stop in for the next wine tasting. If not and you wish to enjoy a professional wine tasting with friendly, professional staff and good wines — keep driving.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for awhile because they always have great events posted on their website — specifically, I’ve been wanting to make it to PMS Wednesday. I went to their Argentinian wine tasting event because I love Malbecs and they even had a 2 for 1 deal so it was $ 10.00 for the two of us with 5 pours each! The 5 wines that were part of the tasting were all really good. I had to purchase one of the Malbecs and that too was only $ 10. I do have to say that I was a little unsure of this place when I first walked in because it looks like a small wine retail store but they have a small wall partition were there are tables, couches, etc for wine consumption. The place was small so I’m not sure how it works out if there are several people here at a time. We were pretty much alone since we came at 4:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. The staff was super nice and knowledgeable about the wines. I liked that the lady who served us took the time to describe the wines she was pouring — that was wonderful. I will definitely come back and check out some of the other events. Plus, they were out of one of the wines I wanted to purchase so I’ll have to stop back in for the Carmenere.

This is not your typical wine bar. You always feel at home here. Choose from the kitchen table, couch/lounge area or raised table/bar and relax with some great wine. Great clientele, always great conversation and debate, with great fun in a very warm and comfortable atmosphere. I’ve been visiting Tango since they opened over two years ago with their first Champagne tasting.

I really enjoy the feel of San Diego wine bars, and this is by far my favorite wine bar! I have been visiting Tango for about two years and always end up staying way longer than I expected. I easily give them 5 Stars because all aspects of Tango are top notch: –Excellent service and very fun and knowledgeable staff –The women owners are friendly, open, and always up for intellectual banter –The prices are very reasonable –Their PMS Wednesday the first Wednesday of the month is quite a deal for the drinks, snacks, and great conversation with the women and men who attend –Comfortable seats and sofas to lounge on –Perfect location to stop in alone for a drink while finishing up work on my laptop, to have in informal business meeting, or to meet up with a big group of friends I’m looking forward to them serving food soon too!

I dropped off the bag of toys at 6pm and got a glass of sparkling wine in return. It was not crowded, few people were there and enjoying their wine. After a glass of bubbly, I decided to go to Splash Wine Lounge to try their wine selections. I did not intend to stay longer at Tango, I had other plans for the evening. Staff are always very helpful and friendly.

Two-step to Tango India Street is slowly giving way to the cultures of the world. A few blocks north of the shiny arch, Tango Wines shoves a well-traveled toe into the bastion of the Italians. Specializing in boutique wines from around the globe, the decidedly snob-free environment will have you singing the praises of Argentinean, Australian, and of course Italian crus, before you can do a pas de deux. Celebrity hosted wine events and plenty of good times.
