Best damn sushi I’ve had. Great vegetarian options that are full of interesting and delicious flavors, and seafood options were really good too.

Terrible experience, and so far zero customer service! If I could give them 0 stars, I would! I purchased a Living Social voucher for Sushi Lounge on Market’s delivery option. My husband and I were really excited their food for a celebration yesterday evening. I had been looking forward to their sushi for a couple of days. I placed the order online yesterday around 11 am, and ordered a 5 pm delivery time. We ordered six items, and I specified NO spice/not spicy on all of them. First problem: they delivered the order to my husband’s work at about noon; we had ordered it for 5 pm(and I have this in the e-mail confirmation from them) so that we could have it fresh at dinner time! Big problem. Second problem: When my husband got home, we opened it up. There were 3 items total, NONE of which were from our order. So not only did they deliver it at completely the wrong time(5 hours early); it was completely the wrong order! Since I had placed the order and we’d had it delivered to my husband at work, we did not know until he got home around 6:30 pm that it was completely the wrong order. Third problem: As soon as they delivered at the wrong time, I tried contacting them via their online system/e-mail. No response. As soon as we realized that evening it wasn’t even our order, I tried calling 4 – 5 times, and tried different extensions(manager, orders, etc.). For every extension I tried, it rang multiple times, appeared to go to voicemail but then it always said the«voicemail box was full,» so I couldn’t get through AND couldn’t even leave a voicemail. Tried e-mailing again; still no response. Tried calling after they apparently opened today; still no answer, but at least I was finally able to leave a voicemail. It’s been a few hours; still ZERORESPONSE by phone OR e-mail. Fourth problem: Since we couldn’t get a hold of them in any way and that had been our plan for dinner, we tried the sushi they had brought in the wrong order. We couldn’t even enjoy the wrong order sushi, because it was all spicy and we don’t like spicy. ZEROSTARS. DON’T GOHERE. I will update this if I ever hear back from them. I also plan to contact Living Social to complain and demand a refund(as well as dispute the additional charge on my credit card) if I don’t receive a satisfactory response very soon. Unacceptable.

I enjoyed this place, but it was really expensive. I was in town for a conference and i had dinner here on my second night in town. Beautiful décor, and it was very busy, but none of the chefs were even close to Japanese. In fact, none were even Asian. And I really love knowing that my sushi/sashimi delicacies are prepared by a properly trained Japanese sushi chef. However, the fish was beautifully presented and it was delicious. The pieces of fish were smaller and less thick than what they serve in proper Japanese restaurants with Japanese chefs, but the quality was very fresh and it was delicious. Their house sake was only $ 1 with a Unilocal coupon and they honored it immediately, which was pleasant!

Everything is on point at this place! Awesome happy hour and drinks. The bar tenders are masters of their craft. The management is very friendly and accommodating and seems to be very involved in everything going on. The kitchen puts out a great fresh product while managing to keep prices reasonable enough to let you keep coming back whenever you like. Loving the ingenuity they are using in their rolls while still pumping out the classics. We come to this place all the time and each time have received some of the most courteous professional but very fun service I’ve ever had in my life. There is something off with the really cool picture of the samurai, see if you can spot it haha. Seriously if you don’t try this place you’re missing out and I’ll be happy because that’s more room for me at the bar.

Not sure how this place is averaging four stars. My SO was hungry for sushi last night and submitted a delivery order from this place without realizing we’d tried it before already. I can now safely say that the sub-par food and service that we experienced last time wasn’t due to the inability to cope with the Comic Con rush. They’re just normally that bad. $ 9 for a «large» miso soup with scallops, it was tiny, briny and missing the $ 3 add-on scallops. It was like choking down on sea water. He got the chirashi bowl for $ 17 which, I don’t know if you can tell from the pictures, isn’t really a chirashi bowl. The bowl is so shallow it’s more like a plate and they butchered the sashimi into chunks instead of nice normal slices and then spread it out to make it cover more of the plate and have it look more filled. I’m used to chirashi bowls coming with at least half a dozen variety of fish… This had tuna, salmon, and two types of fish eggs. Not even really going to pretend the effort there? With the nigiri, we were expecting the standard two pieces per order based on both the price and because, again, that’s just the common practice. We based our ordering off of that. Imagine our disappointment and surprise when only half of what we expected showed up. And it didn’t even look fresh or properly cut. The salmon and the albacore looked shredded like they’d been cut with a dull knife. The octopus was dry and chewy. The whole thing from looks to taste was just overall sad. Not worth another shot. Ever.

Restaurant deserves ZERO stars! Worst management! In the middle of dinner my friend noticed a large cockroach. We notified management, no apology from him or acknowledgment of his unsanitary establishment! Eat elsewhere, completely disgusted with this place!

I came here on a Wednesday night. It wasn’t overly busy but it was steady. The service was ok it could have been better. The staff was friendly but they all liked to talk to eachother. The sushi took a long time even though we we’re sitting at the sushi bar. The guys behind the bar never said hi or anything. The prices I think were really high for what you get. I would not come back here again. The food and staff wasn’t bad, but they weren’t good enough to come back.

Drive past this plan and go to where the real sushi is. I was very excited about this place based on the reviews, but I was disappointing. Service was not very good, and the fish is mediocre. I ordered a Chirashi, and the portion size was not great considering the price you pay.

We will definatly come back :-)

Current favorite sushi restaurant. Quality at its finest. Only cons about this place is parking, especially during weekend nights. Aside from parking, everything about this restaurant exceeds my expectations for an overall excellent 5 stars sushi restaurant. Beautiful interior, wall art, and décor. Even the inside of the restroom is clean and beautifully decorated. Service during the times I’ve been here were excellent — friendly and on top of things. The quality of their food, miso soup, free-range chicken, alcoholic beverages, and sushi selections. Wow, really blew me away. The texture and flavor was top notch quality. The miso soup is a must. It beats all other sushi restaurants in my opinion, the miso soup was so flavorful and rich. This restaurant deserves 10+ stars in my opinion.

I went here a few weeks ago. I made a reservation for 3, and we were sat down immediately, but it took the server 30 minutes to even come by to give us some water. As soon as he did, we ordered drinks and appetizers. Nothing fancy, just vodka sodas and a glass of wine. It took another 30 minutes to get our drinks. As soon as the first round of drinks came, we decided to just go ahead and give our food orders. It was a spicy tuna roll, Philadelphia roll, and one specialty roll. It took FOREVER to get out food, granted it was a Friday night, but it really wasn’t that busy. I’ve been a server for 4 years before I moved out here, and I know what it’s like to be a server. The server was just hanging out at the bar, and I’m like, «hello, I need I refresh…» The sushi finally came out to us, and it was the worst I’ve ever had, and I’ve had gas station sushi better than this place. All and all, I’m never going back here. Ever.

This place makes a delicious margarita! Who knew? a sushi place serving up a great margarita. I was not pleased with the cocktail selection but loved their willingness to make me a different cocktail. The key here is FRESH lime juice i think or a good product that really takes their margarita to the next level. Anyway, the albacore sashimi tasted so fresh and you can order by the piece. Sea salt edamame is waaay too salty, i would ask them to go easy on the salt next time. The crunchy roll i had was great, service was great and i really enjoyed my visit. Would defiantly go again, i wasn’t loving their take on drinks and food because i don’t eat spicy but they seem so willing to go above and beyond. Good experience.

We literally stumbled upon this place when starving and trying to find a certain Thai place. We gave up and walked in here late on a Friday eve. Got a seat at the sushi bar in front of Sean right away. Had no idea what to expect or the quality of the fish but were more than happily surprised. We started with some Hamachi sushi which was exceptional. We moved on to this gigantic roll: Nunchuck $ 16 Tuna, yellowtail, salmon, tobiko, chives, seasoned with house made miso sauce and balanced with shiso leaf and kaiware. Than finished with Uni which was so fresh and melted in our mouths. If you get a chance to come here, you must!

High expectations and not too bad. Service a little slow but we were not in a hurry. Sushi was great and the wine was cold. Overall ok. More for lunch than romantic dinner.

I am so disappointed this time. The garlic edamame remains my favorite, I had to re order my custom roll several times today which resulted in my almost being late to a meeting and not having lunch. We repeatedly asked for water, ginger and other things which we simply never got. And when I did finally get my roll it still wasn’t what I ordered. Very disappointed because this is a regular stop for me and now I will have to think twice. ### Back for more. The only thing I would change a out this place is the prices. It’s expensive, but standard for this more touristy area. The sushi is sincerely epic. I don’t know how they do it because they incorporate items I don’t even like and somehow make it astonishingly perfect. The patio is awesome and very chic but comfortable. So often sushi places are so sparse they feel cold– this one doesn’t. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

I really liked this place! The waitress and staff was very attentive. I took pictures of the 3 rolls I ordered, all so good I couldn’t really decide what I liked most. The ambiance is mellow and upscale, very enjoyable. I got the Edamame guacamole which was the only thing I wouldn’t order again, and it wasn’t bad. The Kumite, market Street, and samurai roll, along with the soft shell crab appetizer will 100% be bringing me back. I really liked those four items!!! I didn’t come during happy hour or anything and it did get a little pricey here but at a upscale sushi restaurant Downtown that is to be expected. If you’re looking to try a new sushi place and don’t mind shelling out a few $$ this could be a great spot. I will definitely be back soon! Happy eating!

August 21: As I first start writing this review I’m thinking this place may be just a 3 stars… The hostess is very nice and patient, exactly what this place needs. She explained how long it was going to be and asked if it was okay if we shared a long table. The long table only had one other couple at the other end. It was perfect for a quick seating. She sat us about 15 minutes later. We were seated and waited awhile until someone greeted us. We had to ask the hostess for our server. We finally got to order and waited for our food. Started with Edamame Guacamole Dip: Eeh, it was okay, it was bland and I was hoping for some guacamole taste. It came with taro chips. Interesting idea, but unfortunately not a great execution. Next we had the Market Street: Lobster with yellowtail. Sounds pretty amazing. The presentation was not bad at all. The food itself wasn’t bad as well. The yellowtail however was just okay. I tend to take the piece of fish out and take a bite to distinguish if the fish is fresh. It was a bit chewy but not fishy so a good sign at least. Next we had the Nunchuck: I believe this roll is priced very well at $ 10 for yellowtail, tuna, and salmon. This was good too. Our service was a bit spotty. She was here and then she was not. Saw her outside a couple of times walking back into the restaurant. On to the décor, I do like the designs in the restaurant and the interesting restroom. On the outside I couldn’t tell it was the restroom, thought it was a office or storage or something. Big can of Asahi. I like the idea. It was pretty dark inside, I’m not sure why restaurants do that, I wish they can give a bit more light. I remembered we had to use my flashlight from my phone and/or the candle they had to read the menu. That is always annoying. Other than that the place is not bad, I definitely think this place can satisfy your sushi craving. The food service took awhile and to get our waters refill as well. Until next time.

Ambience: Dimly lit trendy sushi place.(10pm Thursday night), 1⁄3rd of the place was full. Order: garlic edamame, 2 pieces of yellow tail sashimi, Kumite Speciality roll Review: Food: Really good. The edamame were a little too salty for my taste but they had slices of lemon in there and the citrus of the lemon with the spice from the garlic was quite good. I could only eat so many cause of the salt but it was good. Sashimi: thick slices of fish that didn’t taste like fish which is how it should be. Delicious fresh yellow tail. The roll was a little bland but had all the right flavors. Noteworthy: I had originally ordered the Nunchuck but they forgot to make it. So they brought me a replacement roll which I believe was the Kumite roll. Jim the bartender is hilarious and the sushi chef was very nice as well. Verdict: Definitely need to head back. The location and hours are great and the fish is fresh so I’d say give it a try. Cool points: REDCHOPSTICKS!!! So effing cooling.

This was great sushi. The atmosphere looks like a bar, so I wouldn’t have thought to go here for a major sushi celebration, but this was one of the best omakase sushi platters I’ve ever shared with 7 other people :) And the rolls… well, those flavors danced in my mouth. I usually dislike mixing sushi and truffle oil, but they pulled it off on one of the rolls… and another one had a heat that wasn’t hot… kind of like smoked but, just something I’ve never experienced before, but it was good. James, the sushi chef used to work at Sushi Ota and from what I understand, this is his place now. Anyhow, if you have a group that wants to celebrate with some great sushi, come here. They have some fun drinks options like the Asahi tower we all shared and the table atmosphere is great: Lazy susans and colorfully lit tables are a couple of the choices you have, along with bar seating as well. Enjoy! And remember, I told you so ;)

Last night was my first time at this sushi lounge and honestly this place rocks! Our order was taken promptly and the sushi was fresh and delicious! Our waitress and the whole staff were very friendly and polite. Oh, and the ambiance was great! I really liked how the place is decorated. I would really recommend this place to everyone who wants to enjoy some good Japanese food or just grab some drinks with friends. I am definitely coming back!
