Their mac n’ cheese is like no other! Plus, they partner with Rip Current and share the same dining area. Nothing beats beer plus mac! Period. I recommend the Ecstasy — you can’t say no to applewood bacon! It also might be greasier for some and may give you a stomach ache later with all that cheesiness combined, but the side effects are well worth it. This place is great for watching the game! There’s plenty of seating in the form of benches on the Sublime side and tables over at the bar/tasting room area. They play the popular games in full sound and sometimes raffle off prizes throughout the game. Mac, beer, and football. Even better! It looks like they also have some interesting ‘munchies’. Am certainly curious about their ‘Sizzling Sisig’ and Lumpia. I suspect that a Filipino must be experimenting in the kitchen… I look forward to trying these sometime!

The food is delicious but it’s a tad pricey. I’ve tried a good number of their Mac n cheese and they’re really rich and flavorful. Serendipity and ecstasy are my favorites. They also have trivia nights which is pretty cool too :)

Pretty disappointed in the Mac and Cheese. It was poorly executed, and didn’t have enough cheese at all. It tasted like Mac and béchamel sauce.

Wow! Never would have thought to have had such good food hidden in the back of a brewery! I love the team duo they have with rip current. Enjoy really good beer with excellent food. We tried the fig pizza because it sounded unique and really surprised us with how good it was! Also tried the short rib fries, the gravy was to die for!

We ordered food from Sublime from the Belching Beaver Brewery. They were very friendly and prompt and delivered the food right to us. The food however, was less than stellar. The burger was very over cooked(ok flavor) and the fries were under salted. The wings were so bland. They had no sauce on them and came with no sauce on the side. Since there are no condiments at the brewery(that we saw) it would have been nice to have ketchup, mustard, buffalo sauce, ranch… anything to add to the meals.

If you like beer and/or mac and cheese — then this is the place to go! James is an amazing chef! Once you try something off the menu you’ll be hooked! I recommend: 1. Truffle Fries 2. Serendipity Mac and Cheese –Rosemary rotisserie chicken, roasted garlic 3. Felicidad Mac and Cheese — Chorizo, red pepper, green pepper, red onion The partnership with rip current brewing is pretty cool, I like that there are guest taps as well.

Dang man I really wanted to like this place :-\ the server was very friendly. Tip don’t get the burgers the meat was unseasoned and bland, I asked for some pink in hopes that it wouldn’t be burned like some other people’s reviews. The burger was mostly dry and over cooked except one side of the burger was almost rare. Maybe the grill top is heating uneven? I wouldn’t be so disappointed if the burger wasn’t $ 14… I don’t mind paying more for good food but unfortunately this was not on par today. The jalapeño poppers were okay they got soggy(I got them to go) perhaps they could ventilate their boxes that might help, they were really greasy so it might have been that too. The fries were ok just really plain. I was curious about the short rib meat and they offered me a little sample that was actually tasty, nice and juicy too. If I try this place again I would try the short ribs fries or maybe a sando. It’s too bad they did away with the small plates menu that was still online that looked amazing.

I was surprised how good the food was. I shared a salad(it was too big for just me to eat) and the truffle fries were also delicious. I sat with a group of 6 – 8 people and we all fit comfortable at a long table.

This place was a bit pricey for a hole in a wall place to eat! Our food was over cook for example our burger was over cook and the pizza was small for it’s price! I could have a bigger one from anywhere else! I give them props for a delicious Mac n Cheese!!!:-) That is! Make sure if they offer you a discount they keep there word! Cuz we had some suggestions on our meal! The service person who attended to us said she was going us a complementary discount on our next meal but it never HAPPENED!

Last weekend when I was in San Diego, I stopped by north park and checked this place out. I like how the street front side is where the brewery guest mostly hangs out, drinking facing the street or watching the game. It’s clean inside, and in the back is where the restaurant part is. I heard the cheese dishes are very good here. I ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño Mac and cheese, with the beer cheese fries. My friend ordered the kale salad and some duck drumettes. The mac and cheese to me was bland, like a pasta dish at a buffet. Not the type of Mac and cheese I love. Beer cheese fries had a lot of fries, filling, it was good. Duck drumettes, I’m good on them. So the whole experience there was meh, it’s basically what I would expect at a brewery. I just wanted to check out their Mac and cheese.

I Stopped in Sublime during five dollar burger week and tried their Chile Relleno Burger and added house fries for a couple of extra dollars. The chile relleno came stuffed with chorizo and cotija cheese and battered in eggs whites and fried. I asked the burger’s meat to prepared at a medium rare temp, but it arrived more like medium. However, the meat still was very juicy and tasted quite good. The meat was aggressively seasoned, which I liked, and they built up a nice crispy char on the outside, which contributed to the meat’s juiciness and nice texture. The chile relleno was a nice added bonus. It came modestly filled with cheese and chorizo, but they still provided great flavors: the cotija with its saltiness and strong essence, and the chorizo with it savory and red pepper flavors. The Chile relleno was well prepared. The batter was fried perfectly and the pepper tender and not mention provided some heat, in addition to its great flavor. The french fries were quite good. The were very meaty and tender with a crispy exterior, but what really impressed me was the great seasoning with coarse salt, fresh crushed black pepper, and the side of pesto aioloi which was quite irresistible. After the first taste, it was difficult not to eat another fry without it. Given they share a space with Ripe Tipe Brewery, you order at a window, and sit yourself either at the communal table or bar with your number and wait for you food to be delivered. They girl at the ordering counter was very nice and helpful I may add. I have to admit, I am a fan of this burger.

I ordered the short rib grilled cheese and fell in love! The meat was flavorful and the sandwich wasn’t greasy at all. I liked that they grilled a little bit of cheese on the outside of the sandwich too. The sandwich had a good crunch and that the bread was able to hold up to all the ingredients. I requested a side of Srircha aioli with my fries(they offer several different dipping sauces) and love the thickness of the fries. Between me and my guy, our plates were left without a crumb. I like the casual setup as it spills into the brewery. Next time I’ll be trying their mac and cheese, but honestly I liked the sound of every option on their menu.

This place has dubbed itself Sublime — but I’d like to offer up a few more adjectives: delicious, gluttonous, decadent, gut-busting. Don’t take that the wrong way, though. I actually like Sublime a lot. I just like Sublime much more when I’ve starved myself for a few days first and plan on starving myself for a few days after. For those of you not in the know, Sublime is a new little gastro-spot operating out of Rip Current Brewing in North Park. Enter Rip Current, walk through the bar, and find a few picnic tables and a counter near the back. Order at the counter, take a number, and grab a seat anywhere you like. Your food will be out shortly. I was with a group, so we ordered several items to taste and share: ** Spinach sweet potato salad. We thought a salad would be a light starter to our meal, but this salad was anything but light. In addition to the spinach and sweet potato, this salad was overflowing with spiced pecans, sage, chevre, and dried cherries. It was hearty, but the flavors were outstanding. ** Duck drummettes. If you’re like me and are sick and tired of the scrawny, gristly, and unsatisfying chicken wings that are typically served up as bar grub, give these drummettes a try. They’re meaty, juicy, and have a nice tangy flavor thanks to the blood orange glaze and spicy beer mustard. ** Alfredo chicken mac and cheese. The first of two diet disasters. Overflowing with pasta, roasted chicken, mushrooms, red onion, garlic, parmesan, and parsley, this is one dish that will clog your arteries and have you loving every damn second of it. ** Buffalo chicken sandwich. The second of two diet disasters. The richness of the deep-fried chicken breast and buffalo sauce is amazing enough, but this thing is also stuffed to the hilt with applewood smoked bacon, gorgonzola, and buratta, all on buttery grilled focaccia. And with fries on the side because carbs are even delicious when served with more carbs. Of course, no meal at Sublime is complete without beer from Rip Current Brewing. My beer of choice was a Marine Layer«San Diego-style» hefeweizen, which was light and refreshing enough to cut through all the calorie-bombs. Service is mostly nonexistent, although people will occasionally float by to take away dirty plates. Also, prices are high(expect to drop in the mid-teens for a sandwich), but seem justified given the freshness and quality of ingredients. Next time I’m craving a little bit of atherosclerosis, Sublime is where I’m headed.

Sublime is decidedly less awesome than its name implies. I was happy to see that the tasting room joined forces with someone to provide bar food in this new spot. Unfortunately there seems to be a conspiracy because everything we ordered was covered in salt. Sure it made me want to drink more beer but had no interest finishing the food. On the random bites that weren’t a salt explosion, raw garlic took over. Oh and the small salt and salt and salt and raw garlic pizza checked in just under $ 20(6 slices)

Ordered the Kennebec fries with beer cheese, bacon, sour cream. Fries were super thick so some of the fries were undercooked. Cheese wasn’t melted all the way. Probably won’t get it again. Friend ordered the Mac and cheese and it came out way later(about 50 min later) because they forgot the order. Still think that they may need to fix the kinks on service and food.

Great place located inside of Rip Current tasting room. They have a great selection of appetizers different pizzas, Mac N Cheese and Sandwiches. The only down thing to this great place is that if u can’t order anything on the bar, you have to go to the back and order food from the kitchen. They also have a huge selection of non-alcoholic drinks like sodas, lemonade, teas. I tasted the Chicharron and it was freaking fantastic, it had a nice crunch and well seasoned. Also another winner is the Focaccia sticks, it comes with a tomato dipping sauce and the bread is great. Service is fast and efficient and you can just relax in your sit and wait for the guys at Sublime to bring you your food.

A conveniently located kitchen inside the Rip Current tasting room. Small plates and munchies? Yes, please! There’s menus by the register where you pay for the beers, but you have to order your food separately at the kitchen. A mild inconvenience, but not a big deal. The cheerful gal at the Sublime register greets me and helps me decide an aioli dipping sauce to go with my order of Fresh Cut Kennebec Fries. Out of the seven varieties, her pick is pesto and mentions the fan favorite is Sriracha. Some rooster sauce sounds like the right heat to warm up a chilly evening after the rain. Fries are brought over piping hot in a paper cone and seasoned throughout. Nice thick cut, crisped up nicely and fluffy inside. The aioli dipping sauce has a good consistency, not too thick like mayo and the Sriracha kicks in on the back end. The menu features an interesting variety of snacks other than fries and wings. There’s a bit of everything, from soups, sandwiches, salads, to grits, risotto, pork shank, and fancy kicked up mac & cheese dishes with bechamel and premium toppings. Comfort food and bar snacks, elevated, but not pretentious, and served in Rip Current’s laid back craft beer tasting room. No food truck visits needed or any reason to leave and come back with a bag of take-out. * 2÷4÷15 edit * Returned with the fam to check out more basics. Service is still excellent, but encountered some minor issues with the food not worth soapboxing about imo. They can’t be all home runs every time, so I’ll try other menu items and hope for a better result.
