I’m thus far reserving judgement, but I purchased a Groupon for two Brazilian waxes for $ 40(regularly $ 35 for one) and didn’t have the best experience. Despite the hours being listed from 8 – 5 on the website, after a call to the salon to try and change my appointment to 8am due to a last minute meeting, I was told by Catherine that even through those are the hours she is open, she didn’t do appointments before 9. Ok, odd, but no problem. I moved around my schedule. When I arrived Catherine was pleasant. However, though the Groupon said there was a numbing treatment included(this was a driving point for me as I am sensitive), I was surprised when she immediately started applying the wax. The entire process was quite painful. I understand that it’s not going to be pleasant but I was really looking forward to that numbing treatment.. During the waxing she told me I would have to go home and take a warm shower and pluck out the excess hairs, which shocked me. Upon further inspection after I left, there are whole strips of hair left, way too much to pluck. I will likely have to shave later tonight. At one point during the waxing I asked how long she had been waxing, just to be conversational, and she immediately got defensive. At the end, I tipped her $ 5, which is 15% of the regular price of the wax(completely fair considering I will have to finish up myself!) and she said«Ooh, so generous»… And it was kind of sarcastic sounding, which I didn’t understand. She also wouldn’t schedule my second wax, stating that she didn’t schedule more than two weeks out, which is pretty inconvenient as my schedule is usually super packed. I’m hoping my second wax will be better(and I will provide an update afterwards) but if I had only purchased one, I would likely not come back. I’m hoping she was having an off day…

I had an interesting experience. I first made my appointment for the wrong day(which was my fault). She said that I should reschedule the appointment online and she would try to work with me. Well I had to keep the new appointment time. When I did go the first time, the guy at the door made me feel as if I wasnt suppose to be there. However, the second time he was much more pleasant. The room was clean and really pretty. She was totally cool(even though I was 10min late). She was very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable. Even though she had quick hands, there were a few patches of hair left. But overall the waxing was pretty good. I will try her again but not sure if I will become a loyal customer yet.

Recently purchased a Groupon deal for a brazilian wax through Spa Beauty San Diego. After purchasing the Groupon, I tried several times to contact the company via phone to schedule an appointment but was never able to get through. The voicemail stated to text or leave a message, I texted twice and also received no response. I then noticed a link on my Groupon to schedule an appointment online, finally, I had an appointment only to be called 2 hours before my scheduled appointment to have it rescheduled, luckily she was able to work us in later that day. Arrived for appointment and was greeted by a very unfriendly gentleman at the front the salon(Jean Claude). Showed us to the stairs to go up and wait in a little entry way with only one table and one chair with multiple business cards for various esthetician’s. There are no signs anywhere and was told that people were complaining that clients were just walking into random rooms. I can see how this happens once you’re there, you have no idea where to go. Once you find out who you are there to see and you’re taken back into the room, you’re given a box that all clients use to put your clothing in. A little unsanitary if you ask me so I put my clothing inside of my purse and put my purse in the box. Everywhere else I have had a brazilian, it has taken no more than 30 min from check in to walking to my car. My friend and I were in here for 2 hours. The brazilian itself took at least 45 min per person. The wax was too warm, she seemed extremely slow and caused more pain and discomfort than normal by going over the same area’s multiple times and pulling the strips off slowly. She also worked on both sides at the same time which I think also caused more discomfort. My Irritation lasted longer than normal as well and I was sent home with globs of wax left all over. She seemed friendly and her space was clean but overall the experience was less than satisfying. I purchased a two wax deal and unfortunately, will not be returning for the second wax.

I will NEVER go back here. I went here, and i left very unhappy. I left with patches of hair, and was told that i would have to go back home and tweeze them myself, and that she didnt like to tweeze alot. Not to mention she was very slow pulling off the wax and it was EXTREMELY painful. She made a few snide comments about my anatomy as well. I got home and had so much wax on me that my underwear were stuck to me and i had to pull them off. I tried to tweeze the remaining hair and was there for almost an hour and finally had enough and just shaved it. please dont try and get a deal by coming here with your groupon like i did. it was the biggest let down ever. I will be paying full price from now on to go to a person that knows what they are doing. I had Catherine by the way.

Seriously!?! This place rocks. Used a groupon deal that gets you a brazilian wax for only $ 22! I admit, I was apprehensive considering there weren’t any reviews anywhere. But I took a chance, and am glad I did. The treatment room was absolutely immaculate. Catherine was super super friendly and gentle. She used a combination of hot and cold wax on the appropriate areas which resulted in absolute minimal discomfort. She did a great job. Best part is, she told me that I was locked into the promo price of $ 25FOREVER! WOO-HOO Can’t rave enough about this sweet spot. =)
