Fantastic place right outside of Petco Park. Was with a larger party and the servers(Angel & Jolene) rocked at keeping our drinks coming and food prompt. Would definitely return!

Another place that lost my business. Had plans all day to come at 930pm for the end of their Sunday happy hour. I drove all the way down from La Jolla. Parked to find their front doors locked. Finally got an employee to come over and tell me their kitchen closes at 9pm, even though the menu out front advertises a Sunday happy hour until 10pm. Now I have to go slum it for dinner. Thanks a lot Social Tap. Won’t be back.

Came here recently with my girlfriend and it was amazing food. Tiffany was also a very kind and attentive waitress. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Logan and Heather are the best bartenders in this place! This bar rocks the house with great music! Stopped in on a whim while we were bar crawling through the glass lamp district and ended up staying for hours. It’s been a long time since I have heard such great music with a great vibe. These guys rock the house if you are looking for a great time do not pass up the opportunity to check out Social Tap located next to Petco Park.

They are awesome!!! Logan is a great bartender. They have great beers on tap. I had a burger that was delicious! With over 35 taps on board, if you can’t find a beer you like then you aren’t looking hard enough. Seriously a great chill bar in the heart of the Gas Lamp district. The music videos are crazy good… early 90s music for the most part. You want screens? Forget about it! Done and Done. Everything you would want to watch and then some.

Awesome location, great beer, animal(bunnies too!) friendly, witty staff, and taquitos are sublime. Place is super busy before ballgame but clears out well. Should be busier but glad it ain’t.

Definitely will be back! Ordered the beef and manchego melt which was incredibly rich and flavorful and had huge portions! The food took a while to come out, but the service was fantastic which made it feel faster.

My husband and I were sad when Southpaw closed in this location, but we decided to check out the replacement last weekend. It was a day with a Padres game so it was crowded but the hostess said she could seat us at a patio table. It was in blazing sun though, and there were several empty tables in the shade, so our server moved us right away. Very cool of him — thankfully we were still in his section so we were able to tip him well. We had the classic and pomegranate margaritas and both were really good. They didn’t taste like they were made with too much sweet and sour mix, like many places do. We decided to start with the nachos with shredded beef. We were expecting standard pub fare nachos but these were WAY better than that! The beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, the poblano cheese sauce was great, and most importantly, they did a good job of ensuring that all of the toppings were well distributed across all of the chips! Nothing is worse than nachos where most of the plate is filled with dry chips. The taquitos were just average but we still left very satisfied. We’ll definitely be back.

I think I’ve liked just about every iteration of this location — I mean, it’s hard to beat the location, really, and we’ve stopped in on more than one occasion. This particular version is definitely crowded during pre-game! We were seated at a large community table which was fine due to the crowd, but I think the poor server couldn’t really figure out where the new people were so it took a little bit to get our order placed. The chicken fingers were supposed to come with slaw, but came with fries instead. No huge deal, really, but I was a little disappointed as I ordered them specifically for the slaw. Anyway, the tacos were really the star of the show, definitely try them out if you stop in here for some grub! Overall, a pretty decent place to go before a ball game, and probably an even better place to go off season.

The view here is great. Overlooks Petco park and outside lounge is good for people watching on j st. The drinks are good, could be stronger, but the second round got better(vodka. Not beer). Food is good. Tacos are the Bizz-kneez! The staff is very attentive and accommodating, especially when u got your fur child with you. Manager came out to check on us a couple times, whitch is nice. Defiantly coming back.

Came here during a padre game and loved the patio table we got. There was a great selection of beers on tap and thats about all I can say seeing as I didn’t try any of the food. Good service and friendly staff.

Went for happy hour Monday around 5pm. Ended up ordering food from regular menu. Got house IPA beer(quite good) for only 3.50. Nice atmosphere and service. Not crowded at 5pm on Monday but decent crowd. Bowl of Chili $ 6 on regular menu. Well made. Lots of meat. Very satisfying Classic Cobb, Small $ 6.00.(large would be $ 9). Well made salad. Lots of interesting ingredients. Blue Cheese dressing a little bland. Not enough blue cheese. Nice place with good food at reasonable prices.

Went here on a Wednesday morning looking for brunch. Easy to find, in a very nice spot right next to Petco park! We got there at 11(which it says it opens) but the manager there said they only start serving food at 1130 but let us in anyway so thank you to him! I initially wanted to order those delicious chicken and waffles I saw on reviews but they only offer that on the weekends boooo :( However! I did order the nachos which also seemed to be a big hit, and boy do they live to their expectations. Very very good for the price and portions. I ate the clam chowder as well which was kind of ehhhhh, I was expecting a new england clam chowder kind of taste but it tasted more like a clammy ocean taste. Not a fan.

I came here during happy hour and really, really liked it. The location is awesome — from the place, you can look in to Petco. I can only imagine how packed it is on a game day! It is bright, open, and clean. Lots of TVs. I sat at the bar, and my bartender was friendly, efficient, and all around awesome. I had a couple of beers which were fairly priced. I tried their own Social Tap IPA which was a pretty tasty drink at a good price. I hadn’t eaten all day, so I first got some buffalo wings which were really very good. I later got the $ 8 double burger with fries, and it was equally good. It was reminiscent of an In N Out Double Double, almost exactly. Good service, good food, good drinks. I would return in a heartbeat.

Social Tap is hands down one of my new favorite local spots in San Diego! I honestly can’t count on one hand how many times my fiancé and I have popped in for a drink, appetizer or meal! Being downtown residents, we’ve also gotten take out numerous times. The atmosphere is great, tons of TVs, which makes it perfect for football Sunday, and GREATFOOD&DRINKS! I have tried multiple items on the menu: chicken nachos, beef tip nachos, teriyaki chicken bowl, chicken tacos, chimichirri chicken, and my fiancé loves the breakfast burrito. He even mentioned that it is the best burrito he has had since we moved here a year ago. My personal favorites have been the chicken nachos and chimichirri chicken. The staff is very friendly and always gives great tips on food choices !! The only reason I am giving it 4 out of 5 stars is because of the nachos. The first 2 we ordered on football Sunday were SUPERB! Honestly, best nachos we’ve ever had, and we bragged about it to other downtown patrons who seemed to agree completely. Recently, we’ve gotten them and the quality has gone down. Not sure if it is different cooks on duty, but it seems like the first couple of football Sunday’s we ordered them, they were piled high, and layered amazingly! The last 2 times, they were typical nachos with toppings only on the top. They weren’t even warm, and some of the cheese wasn’t even fully melted. The great thing about these nachos are the cheese sauce and the regular melted cheese amongst other wonderful toppings. I hope their growing popularity doesn’t inhibit the quality of the nachos in the future! I’d love to see some consistency here.

I was very happy to learn this new place was opened for brunch on the weekends. It’s in the old South Paw Social Club location with some vast improvements to the décor and ambiance. I saddled up to the bar and chatted with the bar keep Anna, who was a wonderful young lady. There, I ordered the Chicken and Waffles for $ 10 and for $ 2 more, I added some scrambled eggs. I was impressed that they made the batter for their waffles and the breading for the boneless chicken thighs used in the meal. The breaded consisted of 805 blonde ale which provided some great flavor for the chicken. The chicken came out very tender with a crunchy exterior batter. It also had great seasoning with a heavy hand of black pepper which went very well with the beer batter. The waffles were good. They tasted very nice and had a semi sweet flavor, but they did not have the right texture they should of had. They were soft all the way through. If they can find a way for them to have a crispier exterior and that soft moist center, that would be just grand. The scrambled eggs were very well prepared. They were fluffy and soft and came with a light simple seasoning of salt. I usually eat my scrambled eggs with toast, but these were so good, I just ate them right off the fork. The meal came with garnish of thinly sliced strawberries which were not only nice to look at, but added a little acidity to the mix. Like I said earlier, service at the bar was super. I did not order any mix drinks nor beer, so I can’t comment on that; only that it was very friendly and quite personable. A tasty brunch indeed.

This may be my new favorite sports bar/restaurant in East Village. Social Tap is a mix of Barleymash and Bubs. The scene is a little more upscale than bubs but more casual than Barleymash. The food selection is great. They have burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, tacos(fish, chicken, beef, pork, ahi tuna, and fillet). The tacos are $ 3.50 for one, $ 6 for 3, and $ 17 for 6. The tuna tacos are two for $ 9. Burgers and sandwiches are $ 10-$ 14 and come with a side of fries. The beer selection here is s little slim but they have great specialty cocktails($ 10-$ 13). I really like their Maui Mule(regular mule with pineapple juice). If you are a mimosa person, they have flavored and regular mimosas. The strawberry mimosas are fantastic. Social tap has plenty of TVs at the bar, a whole back wall of TVs and even 2 TVs outside to watch sports. I have already been here twice and the service is AMAZING! I can’t wait to see how this place does.
