Thanks to Lori and Face Reality products and peels I’m enjoying clear skin for the first time in 25 years!!! I first started having issues with acne when puberty hit and I used numerous medications and antibiotics to clear my skin. None of these products were healthy to take long term, so when I stopped taking them my acne came back. During my teen years I comforted myself by thinking that I would outgrow my acne by the time I reached my twenties… unfortunately, my acne never went away and even in my thirties I was battling cystic acne breakouts every month. I tried so many products, chemical peels, and saw several dermatologists who wanted to put me on an antibiotic medication or birth control to treat my acne; but after having a bad experience with birth control in the past (depression) I was hesitant to mess with my hormones. At the age of 36 I was ready to give up and believed I was consigned to a fate of consistent breakouts and hyper pigmentation marks that I would have to spend over an hour hiding with makeup. I prayed, I cried, I was losing almost all hope! Lori at Simply Skin was recommended by a friend so I decided that getting monthly facials would at least help my acne situation. Lori suggested I try the Face Realty products and peels which had been very successful with some of her other clients. I told her I would think about it… and after a few days decided to give it a try. One of the best decisions I ever made!!! In complete honesty, my skin began clearing after 3 months and now (7 months later) it is completely clear! I can even leave the house without makeup and feel confident that my skin LOOKS GOOD! It is a miracle!!! I’m so grateful! I now have acne-​free skin, I don’t feel I need to plaster my face in foundation to have an even skin tone… I’m no longer hiding my face! Acne was something that made me feel very insecure and embarrassed. I recommend wholeheartedly Lori at Simply Skin and the Face Reality program. Lori is amazing! I have been seeing Lori for about two years. She is very knowledgable and knows her stuff!
I tends to have outburst of acne here and there. She is currently the only one in San Diego with the ultrasonic machine. Lori use the machine to exfloliate and stimulate my skin to help it rebuild. She calms my breakouts and control it. Wouldn’t know what to do without Lori.

She’s very experienced and is very good at what she does.

If you want to look your most attractive, you NEED Dermasound Ultrasonic Facials … and Lori is one of very few estheticians who has this incredible machine, which is LIGHT YEARS above other facials. This is documented state of the art skin care. It actually improves the circulation in your skin and the ability of nutrients to penetrate your cells and you will be amazed at how it hydrates and thus plumps up your skin. It is amazing to see the difference in how soft and supple and beautiful your skin will look with ultrasonic facial treatment, as opposed to ‘normal’ facials … there is NO comparison between the two. Have you ever gotten THE MACHINE!!! Probably not, if you haven’t been to Simply Skin in Little Italy. Owner, Lori Legaz, is the only esthetician in town with a Dermasound machine for ultrasonic facials.
What’s an ultrasonic facial? All I know is that I have to be grounded with a band around my wrist because of the electric current, but somehow by running this wand over my face and squirting water on me, she makes my wrinkles disappear.
Granted, I’m only 31, but it got rid of the crease between my eyebrows. Did you hear me?! GOT RID OF THE CREASE COMPLETELY! My hubby even gave a big «Wow!» when he saw me and then said he wanted to go too. My face was glowing for about 4 days. I was impressed.
But it wasn’t just the machine. It was Lori– her technique, her knowledge and her own skin. She is ageless! Her face is a billboard for the skill in which she practices. Plus, she gives a fantastic neck and shoulder rub with her facials and leaves me smelling like a real fancy pants.
The topper is her location. Her office sits on the second floor amongst multi-​colored shops on Fir St and has a view overlooking the harbor, transporting me to the Bay area with one glimpse. Serene, lavender walls and a sparkly chandelier offer elegance and relaxation upon entering, and upon leaving I am always left with the lasting impression that Simply Skin is simply the best.

I found Lori through Spa Week in 2008. Lucky me! I tried her signature Ultrasonic Facial. I don’t have acne, but I get lots of blackheads. This facial pretty much cleaned the heck out of my face, and left it so clean! It can be slightly uncomfortable, but Lori «makes nice» with a delicious massage. Her place is clean, and she is personable. I keep meaning to go back and haven’t, and my skin shows it.

I just saw Lori for a facial on Tuesday. To begin her studio is great, a really fantastic ambiance on one of my favorite streets in Little Italy. The facial was one of the best I’ve ever had! Instead of going through some methodical process, Lori really gets to know your skin and does what she knows will help it … I left feeling refreshed, soft and beautiful — thank you to Lori for her expertise, kindness and LOVELY facial.
