Some interesting items at this small store in the Headquarters complex. Some of the prices seemed high, but I was willing to pay a bit more for something that unique and/or local. I was happy to find a few stocking stuffers for the upcoming holidays.

Great place for gifts… for yourself and for others! They had a nice variety of items from hand made body butters, to unique clothing to cooking spices. The prices are not bad for unique items. I had a great time shopping at the North Park location

What a great shop. I liked all the products and the best thing of all is the sales person she was friendly and outgoing. The store is a combination of things: I saw Jellies/Jams, purses and bags, clothing items, art pieces, candles, jewelry and more. I could spend hours going from one area to the next. Although it has a variety of products they all seem to work together to create a very welcoming warm atmosphere. The shop was clean and well organized. The Elite Unilocal Event at «The Headquarters» has opened my eyes to many new shops that offer great products with terrific customer service and this is one of them.

LOVE this store — nothing but local artisan items! They had such a variety of unique items from lamps to sweets. I was truly blown away and the prices were very reasonable. My friend and I both bought some really unique items to take home from our visit to SD. Of course it is located in a highly touristy area but they do have parking there and I think this is a store even a local would enjoy browsing. :)

Excellent selection of local goods, including some Edison lights I had seen on Etsy. We bought a cute little plant and a record album notebook, and the gal who worked there was incredibly sweet and helpful. She even showed me how to mist my new plant. Highly recommend!

I consider Simply Local to be the gem of the Headquarters Building, and nowadays is typically the sole reason that I’ll make the trek out to the Seaport Village neighborhood. I can go to Simply Local whether it’s for a unique gift, cooking ingredients, or a beauty treat for myself. It’s an incredibly creative and aesthetically adorable way to support local vendors. It’s also hugely convenient for when I can’t make it to the farmer’s markets for days/locations when my favorite merchants are selling — Simply Local lets me support my favorite vendors on my own schedule! PS the owner, Brian Beevers, is just the nicest guy! The rest of the staff here is always super helpful and polite, too!

Love this place. Was looking for a few last minute christmas gifts and was able to find them all here! Local vendors with awesome wares. Sure, it’s a little more expensive that you’d find elsewhere but everything is handmade here in San Diego! Very well curated with a good mix of jewelry and home goods. Definitely a good place for that special something you can’t find anywhere else.

Such a cute shop with lots of local made jewelry. Its great to see the community working together to support small business owners(even though theres a cheesecake factory right next door) The only downfall to this store is it’s not laid out very well, you eyes tend to start glazing over all the hidden gems because theres just too much stuff. Minus a start because a friend of mine purchased a chocolate chip cookie from the store and it was so bad she had to throw it away.

I’m digging this shop big time! I love the idea of supporting businesses and artists who are local. I’ve found it very difficult to get anything«San Diego» that doesn’t actually say in in neon on the item. Now I finally have a place to go for unique items that are 100% local and also interesting! The shop has a lot of different items that are updated. Clothing, jewelry, food, books, and other items are all on display. They are group together by artist/local company. I picked up an amazing SK Steampunk ring for about $ 25 that I’m in love with. It was tough to pick just one! It really is going to add a fun and quirky edge to my outfits. Hey, I am the girl who goes everywhere with Camilla The Unilocaling Hen, I know a quirky conversation starting item when I see it! ;) I am going to check out this store often especially now that it’s getting close to the holidays. Very welcome addition to my area!

This place is so cute. A refreshing boutique amongst a touristy area. I bought a unique vodka bottle glass necklace which is a great gift to bing home. The artists/vendors are all different and place their goods in this store space. I would definitely recommend this place is you’re staying close by.

Cute little store for gifts. Everything sold here was locally made as far as I could tell. I got my husband a cute t-shirt that had all the craft beer breweries in San Diego listed on it. He said it was very up to date! It was kind of a hodge podge of stuff. They had baby clothes but nothing really for toddlers. I needed flip flops but they didn’t have any. Their limited inventory disappointed me a little.

Wonderful Shop! I always seem to miss our local Farmers Market, however I can pick up some of the local Jams, Jellies, and Avocado Oil here. They also have some clothing, accessories, and home goods all made by local vendors. I may be local, but this is my new favorite shop.

Best option for things to bring home from San Diego. All items are uniquely San Diego in one form or another, and the prices are on par with the kitsch junk you’d buy at any other place for rebranded stuff from China; except these are truely local.

What a great set up in the heart of San Diego. I love all the vendors here and make it a point to stop in whether I planned to be going here or to another venue in the Headquarters. Love that most things are hand made. Great clothes, jewelry(Steampunk too!) love the octopus hand towels, and the caramels are off the charts! Make a point to go to Puesto for dinner and then to Simply Local for some great shopping for yourself or for others. You won’t be sorry!

I love everything about this store! There is an amazing assortment of locally made desserts, clothing, jewelry, pottery, home and personal accessories, and all kinds of great gift ideas! The staff was friendly, attentive but not overbearing. I wanted to buy everything! This was my first time here but I get the feeling that their stock probably changes regularly, so this could easily become a biweekly stop to check out the latest goodies. Designed(I think) for tourists, it’s also a great stop for locals. I could spend hours here… and you will too! PS — Ask for a free hair tie at the register!

Simply Local is simply awesome! I need to go by myself to digest that many pretty things! Every time that I go there with someone they get bored of me taking tons of pics, always buying some new necklace or bracelet(to help local designers and crafters, I like to put it that way) and not wanting to get out of there anytime soon. It reminds me a bit of Make Good in South Park or similar stores that you can find in North and South Park(like Pigment). Similar concept, so that part is not new, but I love the location, very touristic yet too overcrowded and somewhat quiet on Friday nights! My favorite items to buy here is anything related to jewelry. The decoration with a rustic feel is really nice, the interior stylist has done a superb job in getting the attention of customers drawn to cuteness overload.

Love the concept of this place… loved the vibe… loved the service! One of my friends, a Unilocal Elite, suggested we check this place out. Lost of local San Diego artists have set-up shop at Simply Local. The owner has really put a lot of his personal flair to this place… with the rustic feel of the displays and the personalized spaces for each artist to uniquely display their pieces. As soon as you walk in you get the feel of your«one-stop-shop» for all good things made local… and what an incredible concept! I love supporting local artists and this place makes it easy to do in one location. Will definitely be doing some more Christmas shopping at this store to support local and small businesses!

Simply Local is a one-stop shop for finding a variety of goods hand-crafted by local San Diego artisans! There are over 50 merchants with their own areas that offer everything from artwork and repurposed items to clothing and accessories! A wide variety of styles will be on display, including shabby chic, casual and Steampunk. The rustic décor is an ideal backdrop for this unique business, and the area is conveniently laid out to make shopping convenient. This includes a low-profile for each display as well as a centralized check-out cashier. Simply Local is located in The Headquarters(formerly a San Diego Police Station) along with other businesses and restaurants and opens to the public on Sept 18, 2013.
