This is seriously my favorite sushi spot! Love their AYCE nigiri. The albacore melts in your mouth. Crispy hand rolls and great sushi rolls. I don’t eat out often but when I do 90% of the time I go here.

The food was okay, I had the shrimp appetizer which was on the salty side, I also had the scallops, they were okay, just not overly flavorful. The restaurant has great views being right there on Harbor Island. The cheesecake was fantastic though with the berries and caramel.

The dining experience here was TRULY5 star. We shared the mixed green salad and the Rib eye steak. I’m gluten free which is always a challenge but Brian and the chef made the perfect adjustments(I dont need no demi glacé) to create a very enjoyable meal. I prefer my steaks medium well(aw leave me alone) and the chef managed to pull it off perfectly! Crispy edges, tender, NO blood dripping into my mashed potatoes! FTW! We are at Tom Hamms Lighthouse last night because we thought it would be better than hotel food… we were SO wrong. Half the price and excellent food and service.

So, I am staying at the Hilton for one night on business. I decided to come into the bar and have dinner and a glass of wine. Jill was my waitress, she was super friendly and attentive. I had the steak and Parmesan fries! I never order steaks at a restaurant because they are never good! Let me tell you this was perfect. Cooked just right and the most wonderful flavor. Don’t even get me started on the fries, LOl. The bartender Jeremy checked on me as well, and even though I didn’t have room, he recommended the lava cake. It was also tasty. Customer service and the food is top notch here! You will leave with a full belly, and a feeling of warmth from the employees.

Very good hotel restaurant. Service is exceptional. Fresh berries and fruit for breakfast, real scrambled eggs, oatmeal, great potatoes, and many more to choose from. Salads and appetizers are good too for lunch or dinner. If you are pressed for time and need something convenient. This is a great choice.

Located inside the Shelter Island Hilton this eatery has the feel of a private Marina Yacht Club! They serve one of the best Mai Tai’s on the Southern Cal Coast! Buffet type breakfast offered as well as lunch and dinner menu. Intimate dining room or cozy bar and patio seating. Service is not rushed and completely attentive.

Stopped by the Sierra Pacific Restaurant for dinner after I checked into my hotel room. The view of the harbor was nice on a slightly overcast day. However, the highlight of the experience was the Wild Caught Sea Scallops. My server Anthony was great! I was torn between the Ribeye($ 34) and the Scallops($ 26). Anthony recommended the scallops, which I always like when a server doesn’t automatically recommend the most expensive item on the menu! His recommendation was spot on, the scallops were cooked perfectly. The dish was accompanied by peas, cubed green apples, micro greens, tai chili peppers, and a spicy tai oil sauce. The texture of the apples and peas worked well with each other. The only thing I did not care for was the ratio of peas to apples, by the end of the meal there were a ton of peas left! All in all it was a great experience!

Friends and I enjoyed an exquisite dinner with a beautiful view at Sierra Pacific Restaurant. For appetizer I had Crab cakes. Perfect portion size served with Sriracha lime aioli and grilled lemon. The main course was a thick-cut pork loin chop. One of the best pork courses I have had. Served with fingerling potatoes, mustard greens and an amazing pancetta caramel reduction. The service was very good. Waiter was professional, efficient and friendly. Explained all choices and answered questions properly.

The Chef presented us with amazing appetizers, entrees and desserts. My husband said his entrée: Pacific Halibut was delicious. I enjoyed a tasteful Seared Rockfish and creamy Corn Risotto! The Blue Cheese Apple Salad was to die for! The fresh bake bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was a carb delight. And for dessert: Warm Melted Chocolate Cake… yeah it was that good!

Bottom Line: Better food and service than your typical hotel restaurant and a great view of the Bay. My goal for Friday night was to get checked into the Hilton before the restaurant closed so I could get a much needed late night dinner. My expectations were low but I was pleasantly surprised by Sierra Pacific. The atmosphere is casual and coastal. Service was awesome and the food was tasty. I had calamari to start and then the mushroom cavatappi. The calamari was lightly fried to perfection. The mushroom cavatappi also had great flavor — both that night and the next day as leftovers. My Friday night dinner was so tasty that I am sad I missed our on Saturday Breakfast. I don’t know that I would make Sierra Pacific Restaurant & Bar a destination but I would definitely dine there again if staying on Harbor Island.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I went down from my room for breakfast. The staff was great and the food was very flavorful and well presented which is difficult to do in a hotel breakfast. If you are staying on property, go downstairs, enjoy the harbor view and start the day with breakfast.

Great service and managent. Our server Anthony was very good!!. Prices were very reasonable, not sure why they are listed as a $$$$ restaurant. More like $$ or $$$ with excellent views of the water.

I have to write a review for the Hilton on Harbor Island Drive in San Diego. My wife and I came to San Diego last month to stay the weekend to get away from our routine and relax. Gabriel the manager checked us in and treated us like gold. The suite we got was overlooking the city and Coronado bridge. Once we got situated in our room we decided to go downstairs and eat in the hotel’s restaurant. My wife was not to keen on the idea because as a rule most hotel food is blah. The hotel’s restaurant is called Sierra Pacific. I ordered a tenderloin steak and my wife ordered a ribeye. The food was fantastic!!! We went back for breakfast buffet too. We had a terrific relaxed time at the Hilton. When we got home we started to plan another getaway and was going to San Francisco. However, after we discussed the plans, we decided to come back to the San Diego Hilton. I telephoned Gabriel and made reservations which went without a hitch. We went back to eat at the restaurant and Chef Solomon made tenderloin steaks for both of us. My wife couldn’t say enough good things about the food. I had the Chef come out as I just had to meet this fantastic chef. We decided this is our getaway hotel from now on. The manager Gabriel, Chef Solomon, and all staff are so great. I highly recommend this place

This restaurant at the impressive Hilton Harbor Island was anything but impressive. I was completely taken aback that at 1:15PM there was only ONE person being served. Yes, this was the day after Thanksgiving but, seriously? It took about 10 minutes before waitstaff emerged from the kitchen to help us. However, once they knew we were there we were taken care of promptly and efficiently. No complaint there. I was honestly shocked at the prices. No kidding, room service was more economical and a better deal. A chopped salad and a turkey burger with a small cup of fruit(no drinks) was $ 33. The chopped salad was ok but a bit overdressed. Poor BF had to keep putting ketchup on each bite of his turkey burger because it was so bland. He had to go through two bottles of ketchup, BTW. The first was almost empty and our waitress brought another. The second was almost empty as well… sigh. He just took bigger bites. We sat by the window as the view of the harbor was pretty on such a sunny day. I do have to say that the choice of non-stop BAD Christmas music should seriously be reconsidered. I know we all groan at Christmas music less than 24 hours after Thanksgiving but this was horrible. No Bing/Bowie, «Little Drummer Boy». No Burl Ives, «Have a Holly Jolly Christmas». Just one random Musak/Jodaci/Boys to Men/Beyonce/50 Cent type dance/elevator mixes that had BF and I manically switching from peals of laughter to wanting to bang our heads on the glass windows and beg to be released from this musical hell… Overall, 2 stars for the food, 1 star for the prices, 3 stars for the staff and well, we won’t comment further on the audible ambiance. They did have a very nice lounge area in front of the restaurant but we were afraid to come back and run the risk of being serenaded by Ozzy’s rendition of The Messiah.

I was suspicious from the beginning: their ad has«Famous Flavors» in big bold text. What the heck does that mean? Given few local options we dined at Hilton’s in-house restaurant — once too often for my taste. Summary: pricey, mediocre service, and inconsistent food… with a strong suspicion of fish fakery. Service — no matter when we went there the greeting was slow, distant(someone eventually would shout from afar that they’d be there soon), but friendly enough. Wait staff during dinner service was error-prone, forgetfull, and mostly non-existent unless summoned. Their menu is nice. Great breadth and, yes, some«famous flavors» expressed by the sauces. Unfortunately the execution wasn’t quite so good. The iced tea was instant. Why… is it that difficult to brew iced tea? Steak appeared to be properly prepared. The fries, while having ‘famous flavor” on them, were undercooked. Seafood was overcooked on one plate and the«local halibut» wasn’t halibut. Instead, the«halibut» was a mushy imposter. The waitress promptly took it back and the manager apologized… but for me the evening was ruined and my confidence destroyed. Room service was a 50% success. Failed to deliver once and was decent on the next attempt — but again, our confidence in them was lacking and a reminder call was placed. That should not be necessary. Breakfast was typical breakfast buffet. Good range of choices. A bit bland and unseasoned… but quite edible in all cases. Loud… but only because one of hte waiters seems to use breakfast as his forum for spreading good will and cheer. «Big boy»(you know who I’m talking about)… tone it down my friend… and please don’t refer to patrons using language like«the old lady at table number 3» because people can easily overhear your«private conversation» with the chef. Hungry for a pool-side snack, we ordered sandwiches. The club sandwich was very good… and the fries were well prepared too. I really wish I had ordered that for dinner instead of the«non-halibut».

After we crossed the border, the bus dropped us off at our hotel. We changed out of the business suits and rallied in the restaurant. I mean we ate well after the border crossing! I had the seafood mixed grill and a glass of wine(on my own dime). This is a solid restaurant in a hilton hotel. I’d return. August 10, 2012 original visit

I stayed at the hotel where this restaurant is located for Comic-Con recently, so this place is really the only choice when you’re too tired(or lazy) to go out to eat. First off, as far as the room service goes, everything was fine for the most part. The meatloaf was flavorful, but I do like a lot of BBQ sauce on my meatloaf, and this had plenty. I also liked the onion strings on top. The mashed potatoes were also pretty good. I would avoid the soup, though. I had the broccoli cheese soup, and it was completely void of flavor. The Club Sandwich was pretty darn good. It’s massive. The turkey used is a processed /pressed kind of meat, but that’s okay. I asked for a side of thousand island to flavor-up the sammich, but that’s me. The fries were also nice and crisp and salted. Just the way I like. I made the huge mistake of not taking advantage of the breakfast the first couple of days I was at the hotel. My stay included free continental buffet and with a small up-charge(around $ 6.00) you can get the full hot buffet. The french toast was great, the bacon was juuuuust right. Two different kinds of scrambled eggs(plain and with veggies), biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, sausage patties, and I can’t even remember what else. They will also prepare eggs to order if you ask. The standard continental section has all the usual bread items(pastries, bagels, etc.) as well as cold cereal, fruit salad, whole fruit, juices, yogurt, etc. Not bad. It’s really nice to sit and look out the windows at the marina and watch people paddle boarding by. some with their dogs on their paddle boards which is hilarious.

FAIL… Since we were staying at The Hilton on Harbor Island, we decided to try Sierra Pacific Restaurant on 1÷01÷2011. We were seated and our water glasses were filled by the busboy… and then NOTHING else happened. After enjoying the waterfront marina views for what seemed to be an eternity, our boredom peaked and patience waned. When the waiter finally stopped by our table to let us know he would be with us shortly… he was not friendly, not apologetic… not the right employee for a place with $ 35 steaks — EXITSTAGELEFT! Even with the 20% off coupon provided by the hotel at check-in, we dined outside of The Hilton for the remainder of our visit in San Diego. Rating: ELSUCKAMUNDO!!!
