Walked in today looking for herbal remedy for the cold Mr Kim put 3 fingers on my pulse area and told me right away about 2 other issues i was having. We spoke a while and although his English in broken I could understand him perfectly. Great place to get your herbs!

I’ve been goin here since I was a kid(1989 the old location was a few blocks down), and my family and friends love it here as well. There’s nothing like herbal tea straight from the natural source(dried plants) instead of herbal pills that have been packaged and processed. If you are familiar with herbal shops in China or other areas in Asia or have been to one this place definitely takes you home. Mr. Tsang is from Shan Tong China and carries his cantonese really well. Mandarin is killer(as in GREAT). But other than that I’ve seen him help out customers of other languages as well. If you’re looking for alternative medicine, welcome. If you’re looking for prescriptions and stuff stick to pharmiceutical businesses e.g. Sav-ons or Rite Aid, or Walgreens.

pros… seems to be purely a raw herbal pharmacy, no patent herbs here. english isn’t even a third language here, didn’t get much help from the actual guy working behind the counter, but more from the customer. cons… service and friendliness is not the reason you go here. you come here to get an herbal formula to be made, smiles or not, most likely not. well at least with me. i think i would rather spend my money and get my herbal prescription filled at another herbs store, perhaps the one down the street, tan nguyen tong, or my favorite vinh hoa in clairemont mesa instead. save yourself the trouble.
