We went thru the Shark Encounter while at Sea World and while the animals were amazing everything was very dirty. I know thousands of people go thru daily but it was really bad. Hopefully it’s not always that way. I did like that they had the moving walkway to keep people moving.

We visit the Shark Encounter every time we come to Sea World. It’s one of the must-do activities. During the holiday season, they’ll decorate the exhibit with festive trees and ornaments, but don’t let the twinkling lights fool you. Those sharks are out for blood and they have some of the nastiest teeth I’ve ever seen on a fish. The moving platform/walkway within a large glass tube allows you to truly be «with» the sharks and they drive in the water around you. Speakers play a slow heart-beat rhythm which reminds me of a horror movie, but I guess it’s a lot better than the theme from Jaws ;)

The best place on the west coast to see sharks live and in person.

The Shark Encounter is a must do on my trips to Sea World. However, I wish there as more information about the sharks other than the one employee at the entrance. Also, I wish they had a seating area during the underwater portion of the exhibit. The moving platform moves to quickly so you find yourself at the other end in no time. Sure, there’s a side viewing portion at the exit, but I just wish you could enjoy the sharks swimming overhead for a longer period of time.

— Locale Destination — It’s in Sea World, San Diego. It’s located behind the seating of «Dolphin Stadium», next to «Turtle Reef», North East side of park. Many of their aquarium don’t put big and obvious signs — everything is kinda tucked away. Each aquarium is small yet good, so they should put a bigger sign so that people can go and find easier. I like their aquariums a lot — it’s a big part of «Sea World» for me. — Gluttony Expedition — You can see lots of big sharks right at the entrance in the very dark building. That really enhances the dark image of shark — scary, dangerous etc. It kinda looks scary but cool. Once you keep walking the big tank, you see another sharks included baby ones on the other side. I do enjoy the presentations. Then going through the tunnel, you’ll see a cool underwater viewing tunnel. You can see sharks and other fish from the below. It’s quite short(tunnel) but cool! — Conqueror’s Deduction — I think the movie«Jaws» gave many of us very negative and wrong impacts on the image of shark tremendously. Yeah, I know the shark in the movie was very unrealistic hand-made shark. We could laugh at it now, but I was a kid when I saw it first. It still fears me about the shark somehow… I’m not a fan of shark. However, the way they present sharks here are very cool. The reason why I couldn’t give an instant star was just because of Steven Spielberg. Damn you.
