See’s Candies

ordered a box full of ALMOND TRUFFLES… my only fav at Sees, it gets me so nutty!

Cant believe I am just the second person to review good ol Mary SEEs candies. Love the FREE sample, if anyone reads my reviews; between this, cosctco, sephora and farmers markets = you will see i’m a sucker for samples and free stuff!
But seriously, i do like sees. Always clean and organized stores, friendly ladies (hardly any gentlemen) and not too expensive.
Good chocolate and wide selection.

I am going to give this little hole-​in-​the-​wall See’s shop five stars. They do not get to keep them, though. I want to see an improvement before they get that coveted fifth.
They earn one each for the following:
Value:
*Same low price as other See’s stores, but paying Fascist Valley rent
*Inexpensive and yet much better than Godiva down the way
*The quality and selection is superb and runs the gamut
Service:
*The old ladies that work there are nice, so another star.
*Fast on VERY busy days like Valentine’s, Mom’s and Christmas Eve.
I must deduct a star based on two gripes. Ahem:
The first is because I do not get my discount for being a school employee here. I have to go to Rosecrans (the outlet store). Lame.
I also cannot choose what to sample, which means I often end up with some weird lemon-​piss/​white chocolate/​ground-​melanoma-​mole mystery confection to reject wholly or spit into a napkin. Gah!
Four stars is fair, and if I am given a choice of samples here instead of a daily, set one or two, it will bump back to five in a jiffy.
