Emalyn is incredible! I was so happy with my results after I had a much needed cut and color! She listened to what I wanted, and was fun to get to know. The salon is very cute, open and comfortable. I would recommend Say Lula to all my friends and will defiantly be going back to see Emalyn:))

New to SD, looking for a stylist, used a groupon for my first time at Say Lula. Lisa did a great job giving me what I described. She was very pleasant, and my cut and highlights look great!

Leo Tang is the best stylist! I followed Leo from his last Salon. Both my teenage sons, and myself have been getting haircuts from Leo for the past few years. Leo has an intuitiveness about styling hair. It is not uncommon for me to come in and tell him I’m ready to change things up, and he knows what to do. I have slightly wavy medium length hair. Yesterday, Leo cut 6″ off, and we changed it up again. My hair looks thick, full and it’s a fun bouncy hairstyle that is easy to maintain. I have had the best haircuts from him; he does a superb job! He can be slightly conservative, which can be good if you are impulsive and regret decisions. I will say, however, that if you know what you want, he will provide the cut requested. I would definitely recommend Leo as a stylist!

I purchased a Groupon for a cut and partial highlight at Say Lula. The booking process was easy, and the stylist Leo was very friendly and did not rush even though I was his last client, which I did appreciate. When I left the salon that night under the dim lighting I was happy with the results… However the next day the color didn’t look so good. When I washed my hair a few days later I could see just how bad the highlight job had turned out. It’s very splotchy, one side of my head is much lighter than the other side(probably because he took a while to apply the highlights and it sat for much longer on the first side), and when I pull my hair back into a pony tail the highlights are extremely uneven and brassy. Overall I am very disappointed… I am going to have to figure out how to color correct this mess.

Lisa and her assistant are both great! I’m so picky with my hair but her haircut and highlights came out perfect! Her regular haircut costs $ 85 and $ 100 for partial highlights. Pricey, but if you can afford it, its worth it. Definitely recommend making an appt with her.

I have been to this salon three times. The first time was a Groupon. The other two times they gave me coupons for cut and color for $ 75. Aimee cut my hair the last two times. The first time she didn’t do much and the color didn’t stick, but I liked the cut fine. The second time I told her I wanted to keep the length, but to take as much as she needed to get rid of the dead ends. She told me that I should never tell a hair dresser that especially if I am planning on moving(which I had just mentioned). I told her not to take off more than 2 inches. In all, she cut about 4 or 5 inches off. It looks cute, but it wasn’t the cut I wanted. Also, the color looks great and was perfect the second time, but she charged me when she was ringing me up for putting in extra color and was like is that ok? Like no, but what are you supposed to say? I think the salon is cute, and they serve wine and give you a head massage. It’s a nice place, but their attitude was unprofessional.

My go-to hair stylist wasn’t in town and I was in dire need of a trim and found a Groupon at Say Lula for a cut, conditioning, and style. I called to make an appointment that same day and stated I had a Groupon; the receptionist asked if I already purchased it, I said no, she said it wasn’t necessary to buy and that they would honor the price. I got a text that confirmed my appointment and made the hour trek through traffic. Once I got there, I was intrigued by the sassy décor and welcomed(via eye contact) by a nice lady(maybe the owner?) at the front desk who was on the phone handling business; she later asked if I wanted a beverage and I accepted. The receptionist I spoke with earlier came up to me a few minutes after and asked who I was there to see and I said Andee. She had a puzzled look on her face so I reminded her that I was the one she talked to about honoring the Groupon price. She said I called back and cancelled(?); I said she was mistaken, that I received 2 confirmation texts and drove an hour to get there. She clearly mixed me up with some other girl… Miffed, I still stayed. Fast forward — Andee was very pleasant during our appointment this past Friday so I was(and still am) surprised that I GOTNORESPONSE when I informed her the following day that the Groupon deal was actually $ 32 not $ 42, and my CC was charged $ 45. I emailed Saturday thinking this wouldn’t be a problem — no response; I phoned the salon a few hours later that same day and left a message with the receptionist because Andee was with a client — no return call; second email 24 hours later — no response! Wow, so disappointing and unprofessional. The second/last email I wrote noted I would contest the excess charge, but you know what? WHATEVER. MY, $ 23(including tip), MISTAKE.

Say Lula is a very nice and trendy salon, I found it when I was researching GK treatment for my Afro ;) I found Kath through my extensive research and I have to say she is amazing ! My hair feels and looks incredible, she was straight forward and told me what I should and shouldn’t do to my hair so I don’t damage it anymore. I couldn’t be any happier with my experience, I already booked my second appointment ! –michelle

I found Say Lula through a friend who gets haircuts by Lisa and I was amazed at how even and complimentary his cut was so I decided to work with her too! I have short curly hair and am somewhere on the andro/fem spectrum so I longed for creative help. Lisa’s artistic sense kicked-in and I really needed that. Lisa is one of the few stylists that I’ve met with supreme vision and skill. She has an eye for what type of hair style/cut will compliment your head shape and features. I definitely recommend her to others especially if you’re tired of the average hum drum snip.

I look forward to coming here, everyday! I have always wanted to be surrounded by a loving and talented group such as this one! Just when I thought that didn’t exist in this industry, fate brought me here! I want to thank the say lula team and thank you Lisa! Overwhelm with righteous emotions that can’t describe what having a team who believes in you can do! I believe in all of you!

I’ve been going to Say Lula the past 8 or so months and have mixed feelings. The salon is cute and easy to find. Kathleen Doyle is my hair stylist and I’m afraid to say I won’t be coming back anymore. She colors and cuts hair just fine, but it’s her unprofessionalism that turned me away. My last appointment she accidentally scheduled me on her day off, so she contacted me to reschedule for later that week. I told her I needed to leave the salon by 5pm to get to class on time(which didn’t happen). Well I show up for my appointment, and she wasn’t even there! She was out picking up her son, which I know family is important, but so is being on time for your clients. She ended up being 20 minutes late and when she arrived, I still had to wait because she had to set her son up in back with his homework. While my hair was processing her cousins came in the salon to say hi, and after washing my hair, she sent me back to the chair where I waited 5 minutes so she could go in the back to go get something for said cousins. In which she stood and talked to them the remaining of time doing my hair about some music festival they were all going to that weekend. No it’s okay, just ignore your client. But that’s not the end of it, I’ve been thinking of redoing my ombré, but the past two times Kathleen has done my hair, she complained about how she wishes ombré’s would go out of style because she doesn’t like doing them(well it’s a good thing I didn’t ask her to redo mine!). Oh also, she never uses any product in my hair for styling! :( It’s unfortunate but she needs to be more professional with clients, because she lost me as one.
