If you’re having a craving for jjajangmyun, this is the best place for it in SD. It’s not up to LA standards but it’s pretty dang good! Skip that Hong Kong whatever place in Zion and come here! They also serve all kinds of Chinese food as well. I mean jjajangmyun is actually a Chinese food that we koreanized lol

The quality of jjampong has gone down considerably over the years. The amount of noodles and seafood has decreased, and during my last few visits, the dish did not have that burnt chili flavor — lack of 鑊氣, if you will. The taste of the seafood was barely passable, and the little mussels were downright awful — very fishy and mushy. Sigh, at least the serving ladies were very nice and friendly.

I had a great experience here for my first time trying black bean noodles. Noodles and sauce were great. I could have used a larger proportion of seafood but the flavors were all there. The sweet and sour pork were fried a bit extra for that extra crisp, and I’m perfectly okay with that. Ladies there gave great service. Would come again

This is my favorite Chinese-Korean Restaurant in San Diego(after Happy Family at the old Zion disappeared :(). I get the typical Chinese-Korean dishes: jjajjangmyun, jjampong, mongolian beef, kung pao shrimp, and tangsooyook. I think they do a very good job, although the prices are a little higher than what I’m used to seeing in the LA/OC area. Overall though, I think it’s great for me to get my fix. I’m not sure what the regular Chinese food is like. I do know that the menu is different for Koreans, and non-Koreans.

Average jajang mien. I’m on the hunt for a great jajang noodle restaurant in San Diego but I’m not sure that exists. I’m Chinese from Korea so I know what good jajang mien tastes like. I came here for lunch yesterday around 12:30pm(Thursday). The parking lot in the strip mall was horrible. I had to circle around and wait for someone to leave in order to find a parking space. My suggestion is to come before or after lunch hour rush. Okay, let’s break it down: Pros: +Lunch combos. I got the option of fried strip and ja jang combo. Love the variety! +Good side dishes: kimchi, oshinko(tak guang), raw onion + black bean sauce Cons: –Sauce in jajang too watery. Runny is different from watery. The sauce could definitely use some corn starch to thicken it up. –Jajang sauce lack full flavor. No richness, very one note in flavor, with that one note being the black bean sauce. The bill came out to be $ 17.51(tax included) for a bowl of jajang and the fried shrimp and jajang lunch combo. A great jajang mien sauce would have the flavors of the veggies(onions, zucchinis) and meat(diced pork) incorporated. I didn’t taste that here. I didn’t get to try the tang soo yook, but given the scarce choices of jajang mien places in SD, I’ll likely be back if the craving hits again.

Came in around 8:30 pm on a wednesday because my gf was craving jja jang myun. Restaurant is located in a shopping center that has a decent amount of parking, but i do remember that it can get very packed in the center during the weekends or during meal times so you might have to park on the street which is also horrendous because convoy is a nightmare for parking I wasnt too hungry so we didnt order very much food. We walked in and there were only 2 other parties. One full of 10 – 12 korean men that just got off work and another that was just 2 korean students. Their menu has portions in korean and other portions in chinese and english but this is definitely a korean restaurant that serves korean and chinese food. There is a bar in the back stocked with a bunch of chinese alcohol and whiskey. We got the jjajangmyun and jjamppong combo, which was great because you get to experience two of my favorite foods in one dish. The jjajangmyun was a little bland for my taste but still pretty good. The jjamppong wasnt as spicy as i typically expect from jjamppong but they do give you a fair amount of seafood so thats a plus. We also got the tangsooyook which was delicious here, i usually like to get the sauce on the side and dip my pork but i forgot to ask them to do that. overall not bad, id come back again
