I literally love his place. The food is amazing and durning happy hour(4 – 8) I believe, the have $ 3.75 draft Stella’s. I had the pleasure to enjoy their mini duck tacos, the are small but pack a punch of great flavor. Topped with feta cheese and a house sauce these bad boys are worth every penny. I also love the goat cheese pizza, it has a really good taste and they aren’t chincy with the cheese. Last but not least, the lobster bisque. Amazing flavor, creamy and thick and just perfect for sipping your pizza into

Pepperoni and Kobe beef pizza. Yummy and cooked perfectly. Zach(the bartender) is friendly, super awesome and he knows his drinks. He’s a team player which seems to help this place run smoothly. Thanks Sammys

I have a love/hate relationship with this particular Sammy’s however today was a love day. They have updated their menu with several new items of which I was happy to try. I had the Thai Shrimp Curry and Rice Noodles which had bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, napa cabbage and cilantro. This dish was delicious with bold, balanced flavors. The noodles were perfectly cooked as well as the shrimps. There was a lot of yummy soupy broth which I appreciated having… it complemented the noodles perfectly. I could not get enough of this dish, I ate the entire meal in one sitting. My husband had the Peruvian Beef Lomo Saltado which had tender sliced steak, tomatoes, onions, fingerling potatoes in a soy-ginger sauce. I’m not familiar with Peruvian food however this dish was amazing. It was savory with rich bold soy ginger flavors. I’m not sure of the spices however it was perfect. I’m looking forward to trying the new items on the menu.

Great pizza, very tasty personal size pizzas. Plenty of beers to choose from. Great location, in the heart of mission valley by a trolly stop.

Great pizza and great salads! Really good service will be back! I got a Greek salad and it will freshly tossed in a vinaigrette. The pizza was fresh and came out hot. The desserts were really good. It is also a convenient location next to the trolley tacks. Thanks again for a great lunch to our server Yerim!

There back to what made them a good place to stop and get a nice bite to eat. They were getting small on their portions and prices went up. Hadn’t been here in awhile. Stopped by last week and the service is great the food has improved and the large salads are back. They had taken it off the menu and had one smaller size for more money. Love the large size salads. Back to the way Sammys was back when they first opened.

A nice… average place to grab a bite! Came here for dinner on a Friday night and had an ok time. Located in Mission Valley, this restaurant is in the same league as TGIF and Applebee’s, but with more of a focus on pizza. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. The service was fine, the food was ok(nothing mind blowing), and the ambiance was family friendly. Overall, it was a standard dining experience. It was good, but didn’t leave me craving more and wanting to rush back! I’ll prob stop by some time though.

I have come to this Sammy’s(and others) many times. The food is always pretty good. I have special dietary issues and I like that I can order off of the tapas menu and keep things simple in terms of ingredients. Today I went with a party of 6. I am writing a review because the service we got was so good. Marcus was our server and he rocked. When I spoke to the manager, I was told that Marcus is a trainer for other servers. I can see why. I can’t pinpoint why Marcus was so good, but he made the experience extra special. Because of my special diet, I find it difficult to eat out. The Sammy’s menu was a bit challenging for me, but at least I could order something, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was outstanding. I would go back next time I am in the valley.

Customer service was great. Food quality was eh. I ordered the new York style pizza It was made really sloppy. The ingredients were not spread evenly so that sucks. The taste was ok. Really oily. I also ordered the Mini duck tacos When they say mini. It’s really mini. Bite size sneakers is what I could compare it to. Taste great but the portion was REALLYSMALL. I would only come back if the food was free. Our waitress was great by the way. Didn’t catch her name tho.

Why do I have to ask of you are my server? Why do I have to ask your name?(Yerim) Other than that the service is alright. The food is okay. Very average as far as flavors and taste. This is a regular 3 star chain spot in a convenient location.

Love this place! Went here with the wife last night, and it was a hit for both of us! We love the truffle fries topped with romano cheese. It’s just excellent. We also ordered this thai pizza, it looked weird just because it’s a Thai dish on a pizza crust, but it was really good! I love that it wasn’t baked pizza, the texture definitely made a big difference. Oh, and price? This is cheap! We ended up just spending about $ 20, so of course we gave our waitress a good tip. She was also friendly and helpful to us as well even though there’s a lot of people on the restaurant.

Got a lunch pizza and a lunch salad. Both were very good. Went to lunch with a coworker here and use my passport discount dining card saved some money. Without that I probably would not go

Have always loved Sammy’s — the food is consistently good and the décor, lovely. The service can be a bit slow at time(not tonight) and it is a bit spendy. The tomato angel hair is layered with garlic, olive oil, and herbs and is absolutely perfect. The balsamic grilled chicken salad is my favorite on the menu and the planked salmon is always perfectly cooked. Their pizzas and appetizers are delicious as well. So, if you don’t mind paying a bit more and enjoy good food, this is a great place.

Bland food and bad service for the price. Ordered the chopped chicken salad and it was just ice berg lettuce and tomatoes with pre cooked chicken breast. boring! Also ordered the Thai chicken pizza. it was ok nothing special. I left wondering why I even came there. I remember this place used to be good.

A++++ all around! We need more stars! Best pizza place place in California that I’ve tasted. The crust was nice & crunchy. It was not greasy — just tasty. We also had lobster bisque. Delish & creamy. The homemade Italian bread was warm & fresh. I ignored my manners & dipped the bread into this amazing soup. Now onto the dessert! THIS is the way a sundae should be made. Lots of creamy vanilla ice cream, fudge dripping down the sides & onto the foot of the glass, whip cream like high & a cherry on top. We asked for«light» whipped cream, because we saw it was normally piled high & dropped off the lip of the glass — by at least an inch. Apparently, the fudge holds the glass to the plate. SERVICE was Superb! Ask for Melissa! She will take excellent care of you. She is also A++ and made the night mucho enjoyable.

I’d go again if I wasn’t paying. We came in on a Thursday afternoon I think it was, it was empty, they may have just opened. We chose a table and got our menus immediately. My brother and I both got this tea, I think it was passion fruit or flower or something like that. It was the best tea I have ever had in my life! It was astonishingly fresh. We ordered the fries, I think it was the truffle fries, for an appetizer, oh good god they were amazing. We also ordered two pizzas, one just pepperoni and one of the five cheese. The cheese pizza was so damn good. I wanted the entire thing just to myself. My only deduction here is that it was just too expensive. The portions weren’t exceptionally big, the pizza was eight slices. I’d go again but only if I’m not paying

Just okay for me. Stopped in early one Friday evening a couple weeks ago. Our server was nice(though he spoke so low and fast I had to ask my husband repeat what he said like one of those really elderly people, come on, my hearing’s not that poor yet!). Got the shrimp and grits. Husband got flank steak with veggies. Both were really super oily. Whenever you took a scoop of grits it left behind an oil pool. Grits were very cheesy and heavy(because oil!) — good enough, but I actually asked my husband to switch meals with me because it was going to be a super heavy meal. Steak was marinated in oil/chimichurri and also sat in oil. I’m not against olive oil, but I’m against *just* oil– wasn’t balanced. Add some acid, some lemon, something, anything. Olive oil is not the panacea for making dishes taste better!
