Sailtime San Diego

i had a wonderful experience and gained a lot of knowledge taking sailing lessons from Sailtime San Diego, AND also got ASA 101 certified at the same time. My instructor, Kirk Gardner, is a very knowledgeable and experienced sailor (he said «I got into bigger boats more recently– about 20– or 30 years ago»). He was a great instructor– patient and able to get the point across clearly, with an obvious love for sailing and teaching. i had never sailed a larger sailboat but by the end of the first day i was confidently backing a 36 foot Hunter in and out of the slip and dock area. We sailed through the channel and into the open ocean, practicing sailing basics (tacks/​jibes/​and a lot more) along the way.
By the end of the second day, after more practice and learning more skills, i chose to take the ASA 101 Basic Sailing Exam, passed with flying colors (100%- thanks, Kirk,. helps to have a good instructor). Looking forward to following with ASA 103 and 104 certifications. Also, thanks to friendly owner, Ian, who handled the booking details, and helped inspire confidence from the beginning.
So, in conclusion: Great time/​Fun and educational/​Beautiful, well-​maintained boat/​Competent (and patient) instructor/​our classroom was on the water. Definitely recommend!
