My FAVORITE eyelash person works at this location. GLAM BY MEL is the way to go whether you want natural looking lashes or a glamorous look for a night out on the town (or 10!). The price is amazing. I called other locations that started at over 200 bucks!!! Mel only charges 125 for the initial set and fills are only 45 bucks after!!! You really cant beat the price ESPECIALLY for the quality that you get. The fills normally only take about an hour or a little over so you aren’t interrupting your whole day to look awesome. I LOVE that she makes my lashes look perfect every time. YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS GIRL ASAP!!! You will be happy you did!!!

I used to go to Rudi at Hairline when Rudi was in Glasgow. He is one of THE BEST hairstylist I have ever been too. You are lucky to have him in San Diego, wish he was still in the UK.

I have been coming to this salon for the last year and absolutely love it. I saw my neighbors hairs and begged her to tell me where she got it done and to my delight it was only two blocks from my apartment. I recently moved out of Pb and keep coming back so Claire can work her magic on my hair. She always does what I ask, makes my hair look just like the picture (which you should always bring to any hair stylist since descriptive words can mean different things to different people for ex one persons vision of a «caramel» blonde may be completely different than someone else’s) and her prices are very reasonable and haven’t changed the entire time I’ve been coming to the salon. The entire staff is so nice and welcoming and I always have a smile on my face when I know I’m getting my hair done. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great cut and/​or color :)

Not sure why my reviews keep getting filtered:-(I believe when someone provides a great service or experience they should be rewarded by praise. I really thought that this is what Unilocal is all about. When we take the time to write about our experiences we should be able to see them. I don’t always write positive reviews and conversely if it is negative it should be out there to help other people.
So, to go back to my experience at Rudi Carroll Hair Design… I always come out of the salon looking and feeling great. I have been getting my hair colored there now for over a year and it’s so natural looking. The condition is fabulous and I get a ton of compliments on it.
When it comes to my hair, I’ picky and just having that feeling of confidence each time I go there is fab.
It’s well worth the money!

I love having my hair styled by Claire at this salon. My cut and color are really great, even, long lasting and flattering. Claire helps me to change it up so that I don’t get stuck in a time warp. The salon has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and is immaculate. The prices are so reasonable that I go more often than I would otherwise. Highly recommend!

Don’t be fooled by what our friends Melinda J. and Jo P. have to say. I find it interesting that all of the positive reviews, which are far more recent, are filtered and the only 2 that are not are these 2 negative ones. I have been going to Claire for 15 years and have referred tons of people to her who have also been very happy and referred their friends. And I constantly get compliments on my hair and get asked who does my hair. So sounds like Melinda and Jo had a bad day or are having a bad life. Rudi Carroll will not disappoint you. Let’s see how quickly this gets filtered!

Rudi Carroll has been a fixture in Pacific Beach for decades! I know people who drive all the way from Oceanside for a cut and color.
This is the very picture of a family, mom and pop business (personal, friendly, comfortable), but with all the modern accoutrements of a totally fabulous salon.
I don’t know what happened with the previous reviewer, maybe Rudi and Pat were out of town at the time, but we’ve gone there for years and been very pleased.

One of San Diego’s BEST hair salons. I’ve been going here for about 8 years, and always know I’ll come out with a great cut and color! Rudi’s training in the UK far exceeds any US stylist. He is extremely knowledgable, and is way ahead of the pack with his up to date styling! Even my teenage daughter goes to Rudi, after some disastrous haircuts elsewhere, she knows that Rudi will give her the style she is looking for. Thanks Rudi for great service and value for money! Remember you get what you pay for, so don’t take any shortcuts with those chain salons! Come to Rudi Carrol Hair Design!

I got a brazillian blow-​out done by Rudi and he RUINED my hair. My hair was straight, but it was completely fried and the product turned my hair YELLOW. Not blond, yellow. I went back a few days later for Rudi to try to fix it. 3 more hours in the chair and my hair was still yellow and completely damaged. I would not recommend this hair studio to my worst enemy. That bad.
