I guess I have been spoiled on the flavor and convenience of Chipotle because I had Rubio for the first time and was not impressed. Too much onion and not enough flavor in the chicken. The selection was minimal as well. I was looking for some good Mexican food and didn’t get it. I will definitely go to the corner restaurant down the street before coming here again.

! Why would you ever order fish tacos anywhere else when these blow any other fish taco out of the water for half the price?! Literally the original fish taco, but the especial is really damn good too! For less than 10 bucks, you get a great meal quick. Food is consistently good at all the locations, but this location is convenient since we know how long you can shop at the exchange here! And if not everyone wants rubios, there are plenty other options in the same building.

Never had Rubios, heard it was the
so I went to one.
Overall: Beyond amazing. I can’t believe I’ve never seen one outside of San Diego. Fresh, delicious coastal Mexican food, that’s fast and they serve beer and sangria.
How anyone in the Navy passes a PT test with this in their NEX I have no idea.

Rubio’s is awesome. I love this location in particular because they always get my order right (I’m an extremely picky eater). Other locations often get lazy and throw things in, thinking I won’t notice but this location gets it right, every time… even when they are busy. The cashiers are also extremely friendly.

Rubio’s is one of the few chain «mexican» restaurants that I frequently eat at. It’s convenience and location to the navy base/​exchange make it a win/​win for me.
This particular Rubio’s is always clean and you have the ability to watch them make your food while you wait. Expect a wait during lunch due to the high volume of customers and the fact that everything is made fresh.
I would have given 5 stars but the prices here are considerably higher than the same establishments outside the fence.

I cannot stay away from the fish taco especials! Very good food with quality flour tortillas and always tasty battered fish with a creamy sauce.
It is a bit pricey but the convenience of being in the NEX complex is worth the extra bit you pay.

Rubio’s never disappoints when it comes to food, but it is located in the food court of one of the busiest shopping exchanges for the military, so they can lag a bit.

I normally come here on a Tuesday for their $ 1.50 fish tacos. They’re good and lives up to the hype in my opinion.
The only other items I had here was the shrimp burrito which is pricey for its size but still delicious and the chicken quesadillas with the chips. The chips tastes great with their fresh salsa.
I like Rubio’s. It’s definitely one of the better chain restaurants around.

I love the whole Rubio’s menu, their food is always fresh and made when YOU order it, not before! Their staff is always curteous and make you feel welcome, I would recommend Rubios to anyone looking for a tasty fresh meal :)
