Just in for a quick in-and-out to snag some ube sponge cake from this Filipino bakery. I found it curious that the bakery sold all their products in their own sealed packaging. Though its nice to have a professional sort of look to pastries, it made me question whether or not the pastries were actually made on location. Despite this, I decided to take some chances and try their Ube(AKA Purple Yam) Sponge Cake. When I got home, I dug in and was SO pleased. The pastry was soft and moist, and though the color was a vibrant barney purple, the flavor inside was subtle and delicate: absolutely perfect for a sponge cake. I would definitely come back sometime if I ever have the urge to stuff my mouth with some delicious purple cakey goodness!

Butter mamon! Yum. I used to have this packed as a snack or with my lunch when I was younger. You can buy a dozen and they put it in a box for you. I think you even get one extra for free. I’m a fan of their mango supreme cake. So delectable. I just wish it had more of that mango syrup and mango pieces on top. The ube overload cake was ok but not as good as it used to be. When I tried it it was very powdery and didn’t even have a cake like texture. Definitely ordering another mango supreme cake for any occasion.

Maybe you should change your hours online to 8 so people don’t walk in at 730(like I did) since« Unilocal» states you open at 7 a.m. I’d love to give 1 star, but I’d leave it at 2 since I will be back one day for some of their pastries.

I go here for beef empanadas! So good and always warm. Their spongecakes are pretty good(the are in comparison to the Goldilocks brand but I honestly prefer Goldilocks spongecakes over these). My family and colleagues have at least once purchased their mango cake, and coffee cake. Very inexpensive cakes and it’s always moist and fresh. I’ve never tried Halo Halo before, I might have to try that soon since I always see them offering it at this location everytime I’m here.

Very clean location. The staff is friendly. The cakes are the main reason I come here.

I love the mamon. They have ube, butter, cheese flavors. Recommend they sell a variety 8 pack with 4 butter, 2 cheese and 2 ube. They are all the same prices for 8, so why not offer a variety. I would buy more 8 packs if they did. Their Pancit Palabok is the best in the area.

The beef empanada was the best food-gasm. I was actually shocked at how good it was. Flaky pastry crust perfectly browned with delicately seasoned ground beef and little berry things. Oh berry things, I don’t even know what you were but I sure just ate the hell out of you. I was tempted to buy a slice of the mango cake because all you Unilocalers out there are tripping about it, but that cake is huge and it’s not my birthday today so… I bought a banana bread loaf for a little over three dollars and then I also got a small round Ube bread. I must say that I am a huge fan of taro so I was pretty excited about what it was going to taste like, feel like in my mouth, and feel like going into my belly. I was sure that I would be satisfied in multiple ways. I unwrapped that Ube bread and took a bite and then I stopped in my tracks. To me, –a Mexican-American– this bread tastes like butter poundcake, old chocolate and dirty socks had a baby. I wanted to like it so bad that I went for two more bites. just not for me! The banana bread looked squishy and fresh so I bought it for about $ 3.50. Of course I had to try it before I went to sleep so I unfilled the plastic packaging and tore off a piece. Very disappointing. The banana bread was moist on the outside but somehow dry on the inside. I don’t even know how you accomplish this! The good thing about the banana bread fail is that when my boyfriend gets home from work tonight there’ll still be some left. Ha ha. I will still come back for empanadas and to buy that damn mango cake but in the meantime I give it three stars, solely based on my experience today.

This place is known for their yummy Filipino cakes. Ube aka Taro and Mango cakes. But I also like going here for the empanadas. They have beef or chicken. Get the beef it has more flavor. And I love arroz Caldo. The prices are reasonable. But definitely get a combo. You get more of your money’s worth. Oh and the halo halo is good too. It has more ingredients than chow king.

Red Ribbon is the perfect spot to grab Filipino bread/dessert~ This is located in Mira Mesa right next to Seafood City Supermarket. If you ever need some ENSAYMADA. is my personal fave! You can grab this and get it in a big pack, each one is individually wrapped. Ensaymada dessert bread is topped with butter, cheese, and sugar sprinkled on top. totally perfect as dessert, or breakfast to go with coffee or tea. It’s super soft and the cheese is the perfect topping so tasty! Also great selection of cakes. I also recommend the MANGOCAKE. I don’t really eat cakes, but this is irresistible! It is filled with mango in the middle, and has a soft, moist fluff. and not too sweet made just right. :)

Great spot to pick up a some Filipino ready cakes! Love the Choco Mocha Crunch Cake… most expensive since it’s prob the most popular! Wish they had the cakes in different sizes though. Mocha Roll cake isn’t too shabby too. Love the Taisan cakes too. Aside from coming here to pick up cakes, not really my go to for anything else. They do have polabok and empanadas, but don’t frequent this place for much more than the cakes. Nice staff… always friendly! Conveniently located near Seafood City… so a little one stop strip mall for some Filipino goodness.

Love this place. Known for their baked Filipino breads and desserts, this place always reminds me of my parents. We usually get ensaimada and mamon(sponge cake) ordered in boxes. My all time favorite is the Halo Halo. The best treat for a hot summer day. Nothing like cool Halo Halo. If you have never tried one, you have to go here. Also try the pancit palabok. Put some lemon juice and mix this up, OH yea. The best. The party tray is only $ 20. I usually call this in and bring it to family parties. Overall one of the best places to try Filipino baked goods and Halo halo.

Just came from buying a mango cake for my husband’s birthday. It seems really obvious this was some sort of «rejected» or «neglected» cake. I told them to put«happy birthday, daddy» on it. I should have checked before we left. When I opened the cake when we got home, the writing gave everything away… There was a smear of blue frosting between«happy» and«birthday» where they removed, what I assume, was the age of the initial recipient. There is a huge smear underneath«daddy» where they probably removed the initial recipients name. I don’t want to pay full price for a cake that has blue smears all over it from where they changed the writing! I wanted my husband’s birthday cake to look nice, not like some second hand cake. Very disappointed! UPDATE: I was so irked by the whole situation that I ended up calling them. They told me to come in and get my cake replaced. Luckily I love close enough that it isn’t TOO much of a hassle to go back. I got the cake replaced with no questions from a much nicer and very apologetic person. It would have been much better to get a fresh cake from the beginning but I appreciate the customer service.

One of my local Filipino bakeries that my parents like to stop by every now and then. I think all of their pastries are pretty good. Whenever we go here we like to get their ube or mango cake, mamon, and ensaymada. Every time we get something new there’s never really been a problem. Also their halo halo and palabok is pretty bomb!

Delicious. I was introduced to this store fairly recently, and now I eat one of the cheesy ensaimada’s every morning for breakfast! The staff here is fantastic. All of the girls I have met are extremely sweet. They are all very friendly and they keep the place clean. I would definitely recommend this place to ANYONE.

Too many goodies in this store. Grace knows what she wants and she gets what she gets. Lol. Great bale goods and some savory items as well. Dessert before dinner. Lol.

Great place if you need to pick up a quick dessert for a family party! I usually just get a tray of ensaimada(not to be confused with empanada which is a savory pastry). You can also get smaller portions for yourself if you’d like. They also have great cakes and rolls on display which are ready to go quickly as well. They place is always clean and service is ok.

We often come here for the Halo Halo! So far it’s the best place to get them. Plus they also have other desserts to choose from. I gave them a 4 star because the Halo halo included ube, mango whipped cream and a Leche flan. I would’ve given them a 5 star if the Halo halo had the banana. We will definitely come back again

Sigh… if I didn’t like their food so much, I would not return. The people that work there seriously need to learn some customer service skills. I’m standing right in front of the cashier and she doesn’t even acknowledge me, not to mention, she looks like she doesn’t even enjoy her job. I get that it’s only a minimum wage job(believe me, I’ve been there before sister!), however you need to turn that frown upside down and smile a little biatch… I’m a VERY generous tipper to people who value my service. Oh yeah, and if you do get food to go, check your order before you leave because they always get your order wrong. SMH… I forgot to check mine and sure enough, she forgot to include my chicken empanada… ugh! Incompetent #?$%¿!!!

This was my go to place for dinuguan because of their refine quality taste with no hidden surprises and pure meat. Unfortunately they have recently fallen very short to try and increase their profitability by cheating their customers of what’s been replaced and hidden inside the food. Take in point that they have removed much of the actual pork meat and replaced it with majority fat! I’ve posted a picture to show how much fat goes in with their smallest serving It’s aggravating having to spend your time having to separate the fat rather than enjoying your meal. Now I have to find a new place to get my dinuguan fix.
