Cute clever idea, great place to bring your dog and relax and have a drink meeting new people

What a cool idea! The people at quartyard think outside the box, and cook/deliver drinks from inside the box(shipping containers)!! We went to Quartyard with some good friends and found a music venue, bar taps, great food, food trucks, and a dog park I was left wondering WHATMORECOULDANYONEWANT!!! We had a great time, had some yummy tacos from the food truck, my buddy had a really good looking sandwich and his girlfriend had a salad she said was great. I tried hard root beer for the first time and was blown away, and everyone else found great beers on the many taps. Very cool venue in a location where I am hoping it will help improve the area! Looking forward to many more nights here!

First off, such a large and open spot to hang out at in downtown San Diego. The large concert venue leaves room to hear local bands as well as some larger name artists. There’s a large bar(made out of shipping containers of course) that I have never had a problem getting service at, even when it’s packed. Thursday nights they always do a local market which is really cool. They also always have food trucks! Super awesome. Last but not least, the dog area. By far my favorite reason to come here. There’s a large gated area you can go and let the dogs roam off leash, not to mention the whole place is dog friendly! The tap list at the bar is short and sweet but has a very good selection. Parking is a bit of a pain but totally worth it. Put it on your list!

Love this place! It a great open space outdoors right in the mix of the downtown madness but it’s a much more chill place to hang out at! Best thing is that it’s dog friendly! They have a gated park for them to play and of course you can bring your dog along the open hangout area as you get a bite and grab a drink! Their bar always has rotating beers on tap so it’s great to have options and try new things all the time. Also, besides their Sausage & Meat joint, they always have food trucks lined up for alternative choices! They also always have fun events throughout the month! Whether it’s a local band or DJ, there will always be some chill music playing in the background as you have a great time! Be ready for a great, fun atmosphere in this great friendly community playground!

Quartyard is awesome. I only found out about this place from a coworker’s birthday. The open atmosphere with the food truck /shipping container setup; it reminds me of Austin, Texas. I love it. Wide variety of beers on tap with a Sausage & Meat food truck(limited menu). Games available(i.e. human size Jenga). What more could a girl as for? Beer, food, atmosphere, awesome. ENJOY! Also — dog friendly!

This place is similar to Container Park in Las Vegas, just on a smaller scale. We have popped in here with friends from time to time for drinks and food. They have their own food but also have a slew of local food trucks coming by. There is a massive stage where they put on concerts but I have not made it to one yet. Lately, my Wife and I have been coming here to take advantage of their dog park. Our two punks have a blast at the inclosed dog park. The park isn’t too big but big enough for the dogs to get a few runs in. They use astro turf and is kept pretty clean. We also love to take advantage of being able to purchase beers and hang out with our pups. They have a good selection of local beers to pick from. If you live near the downtown area this is a great place to take your dogs out on a date while having some food and drinks.

My boyfriend told me about some beer garden that’s completely designed using old shipping containers. You know, the ones you see when you go down to the ports. The ones that are loaded on the ships. Or, if you watched The Wire, the ones where the Russian mobsters stuffed the mail order hookers. This place is the embodiment of summer. Benches force communal sitting so you have to talk to people(imagine making conversation… gasp). In case you didn’t figure it out, Quartyard is all outdoors. Which leads me to wonder what happens when it rains or when it drops below 60. Cuz anything below 60 in SoCal is like The Arctic. You can bring your dogs and your kids and your friends and drink good beer and have a good time. There were some food trucks and some food options so you can grab a bite if you’re gonna stay awhile. They also have cocktails and wine if beer isn’t your thing. The wine list is not extensive so be ready to settle in to whatever is offered. We also ordered a Mule and I didn’t care for it too much. Anyway, service was good and vibe was chill.

My first time hanging out at this place was for a car to go event. The courtyard is all outdoors but feels like you’re inside a bit. There were a couple of food trucks serving food as well as sausage and meat open for service. The bar was also flowing and had plenty of bartenders and pretty much anything you want to drink from craft beers to liquors to special cocktail drinks. No wait was too long and it was a pretty fun atmosphere. There was a stage set up with superb sound. There was a live band playing the first set and a DJ following up the second set. Great party atmosphere and the overall great place to hang have a drink, bite to eat, player game or listen to music.

This is a really cool spot. Probably more cool if you have a dog because there’s a dog park next to the bar and dogs everywhere. It’s a neat area with food trucks, a sausage kitchen in the same lot and a cool little bar surrounding the picnic tables and bag toss. I hear they also have bands certain nights and weekends. We’ve walked over quite a few times and it’s always been a fun time. People are laid back and chill, lots of socializing going on as you sit at big picnic tables, and good tunes playing out as well. Definitely a different concept than what I’m used to but it works great.

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! Perfect local area, perfect chill spot, all ages friendly! It’s the perfect spot to just hangout and chill! Once you walk in they have a cute coffee shop to the left, and let me tell you… The coffee and drinks are bomb! I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but if I gotta compare, I’d say it was even better than Better Buzz coffee. They also have food trucks and food stand behind the stage where you can order food which is very convenient. The stage is set on the left hand side where some nights they’ll have live performances as well as well known DJ’s perform. They have plenty of tables and benches around, and bar in the back which tends to get a little crowded, but is perfect for the setting. They also have a few fun games around the area such as the huge blocks for jenga and corn hole. Very family friendly because the kids are also able to play. I had my Dog’s 5th birthday party here because loves this place! The dog park in the back is where the party’s at! For the most part, all the dogs get along. There’s no separation for big dogs or small dogs, so it can get a little crazy in there. But… the cool thing is, you can bring your drinks, beer, food in there as well while you watch your dog. You meet plenty of Dog lovers, and it’s just a great way to socialize with everyone else. Did I mention how much I love this place!!! Parking is blah, which is the only thing that sucks. They have a parking lot next door, but that always seems to get full especially when there’s a Padre game going on. Street parking is mainly available around the area which is also sparse during nightlife activities or especially during the weekend. But FYI street parking is also free on Sunday’s! I will always make it a goal to take my dog here at least once a week. This is the only dog park where I can feel completely relaxed and have fun at. This is the place to be!!! If you haven’t been, you definitely need to check this place out!

SD has been in need of a place like this! If you’re familiar with the StEat Food Park in SoMa up in SF, Quartyard has a similar feel to it, though it doesn’t have anywhere near the same amount of food trucks! The entire place is made out of shipping containers, with a ton of benches all around. You’ve got S&M, Meshuggah and the main bar, along with a couple food trucks(which they rotate) to choose from. The bar does have a pretty good HH special on all their foods(50% off) and drinks. Just come before 6pm and you’ll be a-okay! They make some decent paninis and the salads aren’t too shabby either. There is a dog park here as well so bring your doggie along so they can socialize with other dogs while you sip away on your drink and get your grub on!

Such a cool idea! Great execution in terms of number of tables, games, and size of the dog park, especially for being in the middle of the city. However, we were admittedly underwhelmed. Maybe we just had incredibly high expectations, but we were expecting many different choices for beers, 4 or 5 food trucks, and live music. They didn’t have many beers(only one stout, sad face), two food trucks, and a seriously empty stage(on a Saturday!). BUT we will definitely try this place again. We’re thinking maybe it’s just still in its growth stage, and they’ll expand/get more beer/food/book more music, even if it’s just the little local bands. Cool place to check out.

Great place for a good espresso and a great beer! In downtown San Diego and very uniquely designed, it was constructed with shipping containers and has a great open place with a stage! The girls that work at the coffee place wich is outside the beer garden are friendly and know how to prepare a good espresso. The only thing I can say negative about it, is the price of the coffee and the only reason I did not gave it five stars. A very short single espresso shot(which single in reality does not exist) is 2,50 $ and the double(a double should be a shot of espresso, there is no such thing as asingle) is 3,00 $ which honestly makes no sense. But other than that is good and a very cool place. I don’t think I will go again to have my espresso and offer fix there, but definitely I will go for the beer.

Went here yesterday evening for the grand opening of Day MVS fngrs crssd music event and I loved it ! For those of you who don’t know what Day MVS Fngrs Crssd is… they are an upcoming company that brings all the great house music artists to San Diego and hosts awesome events at Bang Bang(club in downtown) and other venues. Tickets for the event starts at $ 10 plus service fees online, and gradually raises to about $ 25 plus service fees over time. Which I personally, think is a great price!!! The venue itself looks pretty small at first, but it sure can hold a lot of people! There is also a parking lot right next door that costs only $ 10. But the parking pay machine is retarded. It ate my $ 5 and would freeze every time I tried to use a credit card, we tried three different cards and had no luck. While some others were able to process through it. Upon walking in, there is a tiny dirt area, but after that it’s all cement. The security here is quite lenient and was a very easy process getting in. There are a few table benches here and there but too many. There are a few food vendors such as S&M Sausage Meat Company, a taco stand, a pizza stand, and beer. But it might change depending on what day and what event. They have a small dog area which is cool but unfortunately it is fake grass. But yes, dogs are welcome to music events as well! I think it’s really awesome that they built this section out of metal storage containers and even put a stage in the middle. The stage is pretty big and has some nice lighting. Overall, the crowds are good looking young people and tons of great vibes all around! We had lots of fun here. Great music and lots of dancing! P. S. They have a small selection of beers and cocktails but they’re semi-pricey. Expect about $ 8-$ 10 per drink.

With an average temperature of 71 degrees year round, San Diego is all about being outdoors. Quartyard, an outside bar and entertainment venue spanning a block of Market St, fits this city perfectly. Surrounded by shipping containers fabricated into various businesses, the center of Quartyard is entirely open with tables, chairs and games. The bar sits in the very back and has tons of choices. With a draft list of 20 craft beers(many rare and not the generic ones you see everywhere) and specialty cocktails, there is something for everyone. Playing corn hole or life size jenga while drinking them makes the experience that much better! While I didn’t try it, they also offer food from an outpost of S&M Sausage and Meat(many of their sausages are from wild game) and food trucks. The really cool thing about this being a venue as opposed to a restaurant is you can also bring your own food in. It was my friend’s birthday and we brought an entire cake, no questions asked. In addition, Quartyard contains a dog park and the entire venue is dog friendly. There was an adorable golden retriever puppy running around last time I was there that I contemplated stealing, but I figured it wouldn’t be appropriate. Quartyard also says they plan on hosting many local events and concerts in the future. I look forward to seeing how this place evolves! The only downside at the moment is they close at 10pm, so make sure you arrive early if you plan on staying awhile.

I went here for their Thursday Night Market & had an awesome time! This is a great place for you to mingle with other dog owners & for your dog to play with new friends. Even if you do not have a dog, like me, it is a great place to catch up with friends over food & beer. During the Market, they had several artists perform, a couple of food trucks, numerous local vendors that sold arts & crafts, beauty supplies, & clothing, a permanent bar, & their permanent S&M: Sausage & Meat station. Quartyard hours: Su-Th 7a-10p F-Sa 7a-12a Check their website for upcoming events & hours! They do not have their own parking but there is metered parking & paid parking lots nearby. In addition, they have regular bathrooms(not porter potties) on site!

FANTASTICCONCEPT! Enclosed dog park, food trucks and booze! No brainer! We brought the pups here last night so that they could have a play date with other fur-children. The dog park area is well enclosed and covered with astro turf. It’s a decent size but would be even better if they could expand it out a bit more to give the pups a little more space to run around. However, all the dog owners last night were super chill and kept a good eye out on their pups. We did end up grabbing a few beers to sip on(the pups can’t have all the fun!) and ended up paying $ 13 for two beers. Not cheap but totally convenient. All in all, we’ll definitely be taking advantage of this spot when the weather gets warm again – especially for the food trucks!

It’s a puppy park! And a beer garden! With food trucks! And a stage! Tables! Games! $ 5 for a beer. In a cup or can. When we were there, a bike event just ended so there were a few vendors still around giving away some free goodies. I used the mug to get a beer. No discount on saving a plastic cup tho. Shame. It’s not like Starbucks. But beers are better than coffee though. Especially San Diego beers! Good deal. Great selection. Several food trucks. There were maybe 3 or 4 when we were there. Not sure if that’s about average on the weekend. I’m sure there are more when events are held. If not, the Azteca Taco Shop is across the streeet ;) And walking distance to Stella Public House and Halcyon.(Ch-Ch-Check them out them you can!) Open space. Great for a sunny day to just hang with friends. ANDPUPPIES! There’s a dog park right there for your furry loved ones to come and mingle just like you! It was such a good time with my fellow Unilocalers and friends. Plenty of tables for people to sit if they’d like or stand if they’re in the mood.

The Quartyard is looking good so far. I totally dig the concept of converting an old parking to a place for people to hang out, grab some libations and eats, and if the stage is hosting a band, listen to some music and get your groove on. The yard offer food trucks on a daily basis, and S&M, Oh Hail to quality meats, has a container serving up some great sandwiches, salads, and beer and wine. The yard also has their own beer garden with plenty of tables around to relax. There is a also a small dog park adjacent to the yard and clean and maintained restrooms, in addition to portables. I also, saw a Quartyard ATM, but did not check how much they charge. While you are here and perhaps had a little to much to drink, you can step on over a get some espresso at the Meshuggah Shack or container in this case and get a pick me up! I’ve been there several times already. Summer nights are going to be a blast at this place…

Grand Opening on March 7th, 2015 — — Tickets have sold out Is a 25,000 square ft lot is now an outdoor space, offering coffee, food, dog park, beer garden, music venue and a rotating assortment of food trucks. Open 7 days a week Quartyard will host a number of events from farmers markets to festivals and outdoor concerts. I had been to another area in San Diego for Unilocal Events that has a similar concept. And had a great time in the outdoor area. Quartyard is located at: EASTVILLAGE 1102 Market Street San Diego, CA92101 Our hours: Sunday — Thursday: 6:30am — 10pm Friday — Saturday: 6:30am –12am The doggie park area is neat on a sunny afternoon. And to be able to grab a beer while your in the beer garden after you let the pets out to play. It is a great way to relax! The music stage is neat and the sound isn’t bad. They also have large screens to be able to see what is on stage.
