The biscuits here are really good but I can’t understand why I constantly wait in a drive thru line that is so slow. Wish they could find a way to speed it up.

Popeyes is my guilty pleasure. No wait. I’m not even guilty about it.
This location particularly is favorable because of how clean it is and how great the service is.
Turnaround is fast and sometimes the workers put extra pieces of chicken if you go before closing.
Come here for Tuesdays for their famous thigh + leg deal!

This is the best Popeyes in town. I have been to this location numerous times and they never fail to impress. The service is top-​notch. The food is always hot and fresh and comes out fast. I’ve been to the other locations in San Diego and none can top the Mira Mesa location

Twice now I have gone through the drive thru and have been shorted some part of my meal. Of course I take some responsibility for not checking my order but when there is a long line in the drive thru, I feel that it’s rude to hold up the line. I came back to this location a week later and showed the receipt and the Manager on duty Michael refused to replace the order that they failed to give us. Seriously? It’s a 5.99 meal and you can’t take our word for it? We even had the receipt. Michael– as the Manager, you should have said, «I am so sorry to have inconvinced you. Let me make it up by replacing that meal for you. I am sorry that happened». Either this Manager doesn’t have any business acumen or upper management has done a poor job in teaching their staff about good customer service.

This food is always bang mode. For those that aren’t savvy enough for my jive, its tasty as hell. Its like fast food chicken heaven when you walk in and its like greasy, ethereal bliss when you start eating. Don’t expect to walk in and its like a 5 star Steakhouse. Its Popeye’s. They make good chicken. Don’t be a hater. Sometimes the breading is a bit hard so 4 stars. And they don’t deliver. Won’t stop me from eating it again though. Church.

We got 2 meals and and extra Large side of fries, and we were only allowed one sauce for the whole order. 20c for each of the other 4 we wanted. Not bad just annoying and stingy. But of course they gave us 10 honey packets for our 2 biscuits?
Anyway, the fish and shrimp combo was disgusting. The fish tasted nasty, for real, and was paper thin. and the shrimp: you couldn’t even tell there was shrimp under all that breading. it was like eating breading balls, that’s it. And of course, they only gave me one tartar sauce, which was also nasty.
On the other hand, the mild chicken thighs and the Cajun fries were quite delicious and I’d get those again. Chicken tenders were ok. also overbreaded (and I tend to like breading).

Been here many times over the years and have forgotten about their Tuesday Special!
Apparently nobody else has forgotten… It gets extremely busy and its of orders get missed or mistaken… Not too many happy customers but my friend and I were very lucky to get our orders done correctly.
My only gripe was my sweet tea wasn’t sweet!
The tables in the dining area were not clean and the floors were wet or sticky.
The service was good and the workers were friendly. I think they’re understaffed.
There were paper towels on the floor and the place was a mess.
I’ll visit again when it isn’t a Tuesday, just to give them another chance.
Hopefully the place will be in tip top shape.
Gotta love their food though.

I love me some fried chicken! Best time is to come on Tuesdays for their special!!! I’ve been here many times and the last time I came, it was pretty packed. My cousin and I had to get dropped off and ordered inside. The line was ridiculously long but we’ll worth it. Once we walked in we smelt the chicken and didn’t wanna leave. Line went by quick. Our orders were squared away and we ate at home. I got their 2 piece special and a biscuit. I love popeyes!

If I could, I’d eat the 5 piece spicy with a side of mashed potatoes for the rest of time. Seriously great chicken and this location is really fast; great place to hit on your lunch break.

This place is Great! Not only is food delicious, but the Customer service is always top notch! I tend to go here on my lunch and always get greeted by a friendly employee, which is rare these days. The Louisiana hot sauce is a MUST!
Pro tip: If you get ranch dipping sauce, put some hot sauce on it and dip away!

Best time to come is on a Tuesday for their 2 piece dark meat for $ 1.99. Fast service and consistent food. Love the mashed potatoes and their sweet tea from Cranes, which they offer in a gallon to take home bottled fresh to order. And their biscuits! Best IMO!

Just keepin’ it real-​The reason why I go to Popeye’s is because of those biscuits! They are sooo GOOD! They’re chicken is good too but it’s kinda hard to mess that up but I definitely would pick them over KFC any day.
This is probably the only fast food place (next to Chic-​fil-​a) that I like going to. Prices are great. All of there sides are great (i tend to get the mash potatoes). The last time I came in the sweet tea tasted funky, not sure why but when I went there in the past, it was good.
To be honest, reading other reviews, I had no idea they had a special on Tuesday lol i’m kinda mad. Anywaaaays! I still do recommend this location. They have great and friendly workers!

Fast Food is a bitch. I love KFC, JITB (jack in the box), Carl’s, and the KING EMPEROR #1, IN N’ OUT. They are not really ‘healthy’ for you. Trans-​fat, artificial or corn syrup sweetner’s. Mystery meat mixes. GMO tortillas, baked products and produce.
GO TO POPEYES for chicken anyway. I really do not know if Popeyes menu is healthy or not.
GO TO POPEYES anyway, plus they are nice folks and when they screw your order up they may give you a free BISCUIT or 4.
Goooooooooooood tasting, and I can vouch that they use REAL CHICKEN in their chicken.

The Tuesday deal is fantastic! The deal includes 2 pieces of chicken, a leg & a breast, for $ 1.79. Because of this deal, the wait is crazy both inside & drive thru. Nonetheless, it is worth it because the chicken is delicious & breaded perfectly. Also, when you come in, make sure to order their Sweet Tea!

One more week till payday. *sigh My quest for the best fried chicken in town goes on a short hiatus. I visit Popeye’s on Tuesday for the 2 pieces for $ 1.79 dark meat special.
There is a small amount of crunch to the batter. The tender chicken drips juices and oil. The flavor of the mild is mostly of chicken with light seasoned batter. It’s better than supermarket fried chicken or KFC. The apple pie is good too. Closest thing to the long lost Jack In The Box apple turnovers from my youth. You can find better fried chicken but this is the place to go at the end of the month when the bank account is almost empty…

My favorite fast food eatery, Popeyes is so damn good! I love the biscuits, I love the fries, I love the spicy fried chicken. Put it all together and it is a magically delicious meal. The ghost wings are not all that filling, I personally prefer the fried chicken.
Popeye’s in Mira Mesa has more space, seating and restrooms than the Popeye’s I typically visit in Vista which is a plus. The restaurant can get busy and the parking lot is a bit cramped with the amount of traffic if you are going during lunch time, especially Tuesday’s, so keep that in mind. The good thing is you don’t get chicken that sits forever like KFC.
Definitely a place to bring any fried chicken lovers. My wife, friends and coworkers all enjoy it.

Normally I don’t review these types of fast food restaurants, but I have to say that this Popeye’s consistently stands out because of their service.
The people here are always really nice and accommodating. One time they didn’t have a certain piece of chicken available, so they upgraded me to the more expensive breast piece at no extra cost. :)
On my most recent visit, I noticed they updated their POS system. Now you get to swipe your own card on these really nice big screens.
