I was craving a lychee boba drink after we went to Ralph’s. We walked in and I asked if they make boba drinks to go. The young guy said they make them. I ordered a lychee with boba. It costs $ 3.50 for a regular sized boba drink. As we waited, I looked around and the décor was nice. There were plenty of tables inside. I also noticed that it is family owned because I see young teenagers and kids helping out. I really can’t rate for the phở. I will have to come back to try the phở. It took a good 10 minutes for the guy to make my lychee boba drink. The lychee slush was good but the boba could have been better. It changed color as soon as the slush had touched the boba. Some of the boba was good while the others change color. I don’t think that normally happens so fast. As I got to the bottom of my drink, there were pieces of ice at the bottom. I did not like that. I will have to rate this place again once I try their phở. Descent boba drinks here though. Not the best boba drinks but it was just ok.

Mom & Pops are always better. Their«house“‘phở(#1) already has all the meat including meat balls and is a large size. Actually for many Vietnamese phở places, their«large» is this places’ «regular.» Really filling and is the only phở place in the area.

Service was fairly quick, despite the warning from the waiter that ordering appetizers doesn’t mean you’ll receive it first. I asked him to clarify and he said«the cook fixes the food in the order he wants, so you might get your appetizer before, during or after your meal». Now that we know the rules, I changed the game plan and only order an appetizer, talapia, as my main meal. The hubs got phở with brisket and rate steak. The rainbow tribe kids ordered pork, and beef noodle bowls, another eggrolls. The waiter said my fish is going to take a long time to cook. This guy is the king of sales I tell ya! But the food came nearly all together. Phở was just OK according to hubs, not great. Fish was overcooked, bland and had no seasoning. The meat in the bowls were marinated well, but the meat to noodle portion was very disproportionate. We tried to spice it up with the chili oil peppers on the table, but it was caked dry in the bottle.

They have excellent phở; Good portion. Everything else is mediocre. If you want fast service this place will make you wait. You have been warned! It’s a local boba stop. After that, the nearest one would be miles away from Alta view. Always ask for light ice if you’re getting ice coffee.

One of my favorite phở places! Very flavorful broth, good portion, nice and clean interior. My fave to get here is the chicken phở and I add vegetables. Soooo good!!!

Good place to eat good Thai food! I love the egg rolls for appetizer. Their dishes are good too, I’ve tried some of them. The food portions are big it would definitely quench your hunger or appetite(lol). Service is quick so that’s a plus too. I would definitely recommend this place!

Horrible customer service! Might be the language barrier. Or maybe it’s just poor service. Don’t pin point other workers for mistakes you’ve made!

This place was clean, had decent service and their food was really good. At least the dish I’ve ordered three times already was delicious, #11 on the menu Rare Stake Phở.

A great addition to the Paradise Hills area with a great menu selection and reasonably priced. My favorite is the combination plate and spring rolls. I highly recommend stopping in for a bite!

As I was leaving the Ralph shopping center I noticed the restaurant sign, so I decided to order a take-out. The server seemed annoyed as if he didn’t want to work or had something stuck up his butt! I ordered something quick and easy, Fresh Spring Rolls and Fried Egg Rolls. The fresh spring rolls was alright, just the shrimps tasted rubbery and over cooked. The wonton wrapper on the fried egg rolls weren’t fully cooked, but the meat tasted good. I would’ve given a 2 star if the server thanked me or smile.

This was my first time ever having Vietnamese food and it is amazingly delicious! The guy at the counter was very helpful and polite and patient with me. I got the steak and meatballs soup, the egg rolls and the combination fried rice! Every item is delicious! I will be going back and I will try other things!

I have high standards for my Phó. But Phó Viet Express happens to be one of my favorites! Quick and speedy service, employees are always welcoming and quite friendly. The broth is delicious!!! And egg rolls couldn’t get any better, they stick to the original Vietnamese style, by not altering the taste of their food, which i’ll tell ya, is rare around San Diego! I’ve been to a lot of Phó restaurants that are still fairly good, just way too Americanized.(Basically not getting the real thing! If that makes sense.) Only have I once had a problem at this location, I ordered a Taro slush with tapioca and id say ATLEAST three of the boba balls had hairs inside of them! /)_(\ Usually their restroom will be out of toilet paper/paper towels, but just let them know and the minor problem will be fixed immediately. Other than that, PVE is great!

I wish these guys were a little better since they are a neighborhood joint, but there are so many other phở places within close proximity that do phở so much better. Phở tasted soapy and bland for some odd reason, and egg rolls felt as if they flashed fried it really fast and didn’t cook the wrapping all the way through. I tried to gauge the size the phở bowls and didn’t really notice a huge different between their large and small. It felt like their large was still small so the price of phở didn’t feel right since I wasn’t really getting what I paid for. I wish this location all the best since it is a neighborhood joint, but I would only come back if I needed phở and couldn’t drive 5 — 10 minutes out to Phở Hiep and Grill on Telegraph or Ginger Phở in National City.

Always get the #18 veggie phở for pick up. They give you good portions of noodle, veggies and tofu and the broth is always steaming hot. I would have given 3 stars for the skimpy portions they give when u order extra broccoli and sometimes they rip you off on the lime and basil leaf bags when you order multiple soups. However, I’ve only experienced that once or twice and I guess it depends on whose working. Customer service also depends on whose working but overall it’s a good place for phở! And the Thai iced teas are not so bad either ;)

Stopping by for an early dinner after work and had a bowl of bun with BBQ chicken and a couple of egg rolls for $ 7.50 and just for kicks, I ordered the BBQ beef Bánh mì on a crusty French roll. The bun was good( ); they forgot the egg rolls at first, so I had to send it back to get those, but when they arrived they were lightly fried, crispy, and filled with tender ground pork( ). The Bun’s charbroiled chicken was tasty, had good color, but perhaps a tad over cooked( ). The vermicelli was good, a little sticky, but loosened up and tasted good when I added some soy and fish sauce. The Bánh mì was nice but I could not help notice how little bbq beef it came with. Yes, it was only $ 3.95, but I do want to taste the beef you know( ). The beef I did taste, was tender and had good flavor. The roll was very good and had that great crunchiness( ). Overall a good banh mi which with a little more protein, it would be great. Service was decent, a little on the quite side, but friendly enough. They only offer one menu for lunch and dinner.

I somehow how ended up eating Phở here one cold windy day and vaguely remember my experience inside. They had a pretty fish tank and our waitress was both kind and tentative to us during the entire time. It’s a real tiny restaurant located inside of a Ralph’s shopping center strip mall and it was beyond busy with people waiting to get inside to eat along with other people coming and going for takeout. Luckily, we were seated as soon as we walked in. Maybe a sign that the area in Paradise Hills could use some competition, I am just saying. All I can remember was the phở brisket and rare steak was on the money good. Filled my belly up nicely and would probably eat from here a lot more if only it weren’t so far out of the way from where I live. The shrimp vermicelli noodles passed the test as well. If you’re near the area should definitely check them out.

I decided to give this place another chance. I was craving for phở so I came here. First, their phở broth tasted funny and it was way too salty! BUT when I added some garlic chili sauce and some other stuff, the broth tasted GOOD. The meat spring rolls 8⁄10 Combo rice plate 8⁄10 Phở 7.5÷10 The waiters here still have to work on their customer service skills though. I don’t care that this is the only Vietnamese restaurant in the area. If they want more customers, they need to crack a smile. Plus, they are a new restaurant business and they’re supposed to make customers happy if they want to stay in business because their food is just okay.
