I love banh cuon from this place. Every time I come down to visit my dentist, I always always get banh cuon to go. It’s so yummy and only 6.50 for good food! Love love it!

I am. vietnamese and I am picky about my Vietnamese coffee. This place never fails to disappoint me in a great strong, affordable coffee. The foods here are authentic, taste great, and again affordable. This business is definitely undergraded. Thier speciality is banh cuon. People who are skeptical probably over their services, since the business is run by older Vietnamese staffs. They are nice and friendly, but of course lack of. english skill so may come off as rude. Overall foods are great, friendly service, and affordable prices make this place my to go spot.

If you come in to order«to go» and see a huge crowd of diners, which is very seldom, take yourself elsewhere. I have been a fan of this place for catering needs and for its humble home style service and food for years. Thumbs down you guys for making me wait 30 minutes for a sandwich and drink. I kindly asked to be refunded as the 30 min mark was just ridiculous or to just add what i paid for to their books, being I frequent for a quick lunch to go.(-I was now late for my next mission.) Suddenly, no one understood english. Classic. I still had to wait another 5 min. I’m laughing about it now. Pardon if my frustration showed. A quick smile and«I’m sorry for the wait», would’ve been appropriate. Time to find a new go to, hole in the wall.

Unilocal came through as usual, wanted phở and scoured through Unilocal and found this place. Instead of phở i got lured in by all the comments regarding their banh coun. Boyfriend got the shrimp and egg roll vermicelli bowl, the egg rolls were the bomb but was a little surprised on the shrimp though, thought it was grilled but they had the shell on and it didn’t tasted grilled. I had the banh Cuon, it was delicious. and we also ordered the shrimp spring roll, either we are super hungry but everything tasted super fresh and delish. Prices are super affordable and the owners are extremely nice. Definitely will be back

Delicious Bánh cun loaded with ch la and what kinda looked like Spam… Oh and the nc mm was spot on and not too salty! The Vietnamese coffee here is great quality too. Few other places have Bánh cun.

I come here for taro boba drinks. For $ 3 you can’t beat that at all. I can’t comment on the food since I’m not too keen on Vietnamese food. My only complaint is the man at the counter. Although very nice, his English is terrible and it’s often a struggle to communicate with him. I’m glad he is trying. You have to speak slowly and repeat yourself a few times, but he’ll get it. The taro boba is the best in town. Made with FRESH taro… not a mix. The boba is perfect. Not too hard or squishy. Again… only $ 3!

I was on a hunt for eggrolls and wanted to buy them at A Chau across the street but it was an hour wait fo SuperBowl Sunday! So I walked across the street to this hole in the wall place, where they are kind, and welcoming. I ordered $ 20 dollars of eggrolls and got about 50 of them crispy, hot, in about 20 minutes. And little that I know, they were really tasty! The fillings seemed to be more shrimpy, in a good way, and it was very delicious. I’ve also had their banh cuon here and the location in Mira Mesa, and they are both 2 thumps up! Don’t let the location fool you, it’s what inside that counts. =p

I ate here yesterday with my mom and we were quite pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious. We shared a bahn mi with bbq chicken and vermicelli noodles with bbq pork and egg rolls. I especially loved the noodles. The menu has a picture next to each food item which definitely helped us choose what to order even though they all looked really good. Also, the actial food they serve food loks just like the photos. My baby made a huge mess and the staff was very friendly about it too. I’m looking forward to spreading the word about this little hidden gem. The only reason I took one star away was for the restaurant interior, it could use a little tlc. Will be back soon!

For some reason the business info changed from the Mira Mesa to the east San Diego location. Mira Mesa is still open and their phone number is 858−566−9876

There are tons of Vietnamese restaurants in Mira mesa and this is not the place to go. Their quality and portion size have gone down since the last time I was here. The phở broth is fairly bland and they skimp on the meat. Just a few scraps here and there and 2 beef balls. Used to be good but not anymore. Maybe the owner/chef changed?

After reading some positive reviews about this place I’ve decided to give this place a chance when I’m in the area. I got an order Banh Uot Song Huong Dac Biet to go, pleasantly surprise that the food was pretty good, with affordable price, generous portion, service was ok. It’s a place to grab some good food quickly to go. I will come back again to try another item on the menu next time I’m in the area.

This place has the best banh cuon in San Diego! I was a little skeptical because growing up in Little Saigon in the OC has spoiled me. I’ve had banh cuon when I was back in Vietnam, too. I was really craving banh cuon and I was in San Diego so I looked on Unilocal and this place popped up. I decided to try it out and I was not disappointed. I’m actually impressed. The banh cuon is really soft and fresh which is how it’s suppose to taste. This place is a small restaurant that is connected to the Vietnamese supermarket. This place is a gem. Needless to say, I’ll be back here a lot more because banh cuon is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes.

My husband brought me Banh Cuon from here today. We just moved from San Jose, so our VN standards are a bit high. The banh cuon was really soft. Very authentic of how it should taste in the motherland itself. The cha and stuff that went with it was really bland though. I would come back, and would probably take my momma here, because it was that authentic. But I’d bring my own cha lua and fish sauce to finish it off.

Really good bun cuon! I was pleasantly surprised by this place. After International in Kearney Mesa closed down I was looking for an alternative for bun cuon that wasnt too far of a drive and this place is it. I had the bun cuon dac biet. Solid overall– great taste, variety, and big portions for $ 7. Small hole in the wall restaurant(although many people take out) in the corner of the Vinh Huong market. Don’t expect great service or fancy décor … But good food and good prices make it a winner. I’ll be back!

Hidden Gem!!! My hubs and I went there on Wed night(2 nights ago) for the first time and I had the Banh Cuon(Steamed Rolls/Wet Cakes). The server suggested that I try the Half & Half(half Steamed Rolls w/Pork Meat inside, half Wet Cakes… and Pork Roll slices and Fried Pork Rolls on top). It was sooo delish! My hubs ordered the Rice w/BBQ Pork since this is his favorite Viet dish, and he loved it here! The place is a bit of a deserted-hidden place in the Vinh Huong Vietnamese Supermarket, but the food is great! Both dishes had really big portions! They were not stingy with their food at all! I would have to say… this is our fave new Viet place! I highly suggest it! ;-)

This place is Mira Mesa’s hidden banh cuon gem. The banh cuon dac biet here is the best I have had. The assorted meats/cha is really delicious and goes well with the dish. I would recommend to call in your order ahead because it takes awhile to make. Also, takeout is the best way to go.

Dare I say it… The banh cuon here is better than my mom’s! :O Seriously, this place is a hidden gem. I recommend the banh cuon dac biet. It’s huge and can feed 2 people. The phở here is also very tasty. Don’t be turned off by the ambience or lack thereof. Also, don’t expect great customer service. They mostly sit around and watch tv so if you need something, you have to go up to them. Besides all that, the food is very worth it!

One of the few Vietnamese restaurants in SD that I can truly say I liked! Don’t be turned off by the hard looking exterior. That’s when you know the food is going to be legit. It is located in the back corner of Vinh Hung Supermarket, a bit hidden from view. A sweet Vietnamese lady at the cash register took our orders. I’m not sure if she speaks English. The menu items are pictured on the wall with corresponding numbers so you can always say«I want #3.» They do take card but they prefer to take cash. I ordered #1 — no meat inside version aka banh uot for just $ 7. The original version comes with meat if you like that. It was about a 10 – 15 minute and our food was ready! We decided to take it to-go. You never know how clean these places are lol Came home and the containers were steamy hot and packed full! Loved every single bite and the fish sauce aka nuoc mam came with bit of chili so your tastebuds get a slight tingle. I was so full but couldn’t stop eating until I finished my whole entrée. All for just $ 7. This Vietnamese OC girl is content :)

Don’t let the name fool you with«To Go», you can sit down in here and enjoy some delicious food. They’re just as good as their Mira Mesa location next to Vinh Hung. Actually their menu is more extensive than the Mira Mesa one, so it was a big plus. The Bun Bo Hue was very good. I was a little bummed there was no cubed pork blood in it. I don’t know if they just held it out on me because a lot of white people aren’t in to it, or they just don’t do it. A little dissappointing either way. Coffee is very good. I’ll be back for some Banh Cuon soon. Delicious food that’s priced right.
