I could sit in the terrace & watch football all day! I love the décor of this place. There are a lot of seats, fire pits & tvs! They don’t have the biggest selection of drinks, but they did have happy hour! I loved how the bartender checked in with us to see if we wanted more drinks or if we needed to fire pits of heaters turned on. I’d stay at Hotel Indigo again just to hang out here.

What a perk for staying at Hotel Indigo! Great terrace view of Downtown San Diego and Padres Stadium(its main appeal). You can see right into Petco Park and watch the game right from Phi Terrace. They have plasma TVs and the game on surround sound too so it works out perfectly. Their bar has a decent selection of beers, wines and cocktails. So when you’re ready to unwind after a long day, make sure to come up to the 9th floor, grab a drink, sit by the firepit and enjoy the view, or game if the Padres are playing that night :)

I love this place, and so do my woof woof buddies: D Phi Terrace is a pet-friendly and non-smoking lounge. You can enjoy some chill time under clean air and warm atmosphere environment(they have outdoor heaters and campfire!) The bartender/server is pretty and nice. If you’re staying at Hotel Indigo, you should definitely come with a laptop. What’s better than a beer and internet at such a amazingly cool place:)

If ur staying at Hotel Indigo, I suggest you spend your downtime here. Definitely a chill spot to take in the view of the city. I would definitely call this place Altitude Lounge lite.haha. Great views and vibe w/o the nite life baggage. When the weather is nice, you can get a clear view of the city and PetCo Park. Great place to watch and hear a game. Watch out when the Padres hit a homerun. Pandemonium! Grab a beer or a margarita and enjoy the view.(Only downer is that you have to be a guest to access the lounge. try sneaking in though. haha. its worth it)

i was here a few weeks ago… the actual hotel is amazing… the bar on the 9th floor along with the view is super cool. i had lunch at the downstairs phi lounge/bar before going on some brewery tours… i had some kind of chipotle chicken wrap or something and it was horrible. did not taste good at all… it tasted old, bland, n was just something i regret ordering. my gf had a different wrap that wasnt as bad as mine but was still pretty bad. they had a very small menu when i had lunch there so you figure it must be easier for the ppl to make the food and be tasty, but no. extremely dissapointing. only thing saving this place are the drinks… thats why i gave it 2 stars, otherwise only 1… maybe i was supposed to be drunk when eating my lunch to enjoy it… do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else, there are way too many places within walking distance to pass up in this area… oh yea i just remembered i had a salad here… that was actually pretty good but still… i give this place a no

As usual, I was wayyy too late to hear about one of the loveliest bars-with-a-view in San Diego. Better late than, never, I suppose. I checked out Phi Terrace while venturing over to Unilocal’s cocktails-for-doggies event. Phi is up on the 9th floor of the Hotel Indigo, with a sweeping view of the ballpark and East Village skyline. It was blustery cold up there(by San Diego standards) but the large fire-pits kept me from freezing my ears off.(Again, I’m being melodramatic about the cold, since we’re in San Diego after all.) Despite my lack of dog ownership, I was eager to pet all the poopsters belonging to my fellow Unilocalers. Thank you Apricot, Bailey, and Caleb for attending the event — oh, and your owners are pretty cool people too. Overall, the place is like a nightclub for dogs. Between the music, food, fire, and fellow doggies, these dogs were about to explode from the sensory overstimulation. What’s funny about this is that the dog event was *technically* canceled for a staff party. But the doggies and their owners came anyway. So the event went on, canceled or not. Speaking of the staff party — I don’t know who works here, but they’re the coolest people ever. They opted to include us in their festivities, despite the fact that we had no idea who they were. That meant free tacos and flan all around. They were engaging in some serious karaōke too. (I’m sure I could’ve joined in if I really wanted to, but I’d need several more drinks before I’d be willing to belt out a techno remix of Feliz Navidad. Don’t bother trying to find any incriminating pictures on facebook — trust me, they’re not there. I hope that didn’t disappoint you too much. ;)) Overall, I’ll give Phi 4 out of 5 woofs!

Beautiful Venue with slow service, terrible food, and they always seem to close early– around 9pm! Never busy, very expensive, and such a waste of a nice looking restaurant/lounge.

Just tried this place after walking by a few times, and i have to say i am impressed. Me and the lady both had the Garden Salad, and it was exceptional. Figs, white green beans, plums, almonds, and romaine with a very delicious vinaigarette(sp?). Also had the mediterranean hummus, which was great. Apparently, they are changing the menu, but as long as they have the same chef, we will be back.

The newest rooftop bar downtown is pretty cool. It just opened so they’re still putting on the finishing touches, but it looks to be a great spot in East Village. There are nice firepits and lounge chairs, sweet views of Petco Park, a couple big TVs, and that hip ambient vibe similar to Altitude, the W, and J Bar. But unlike J Bar, this place isn’t pretentious(yet). It would seem, given the economy’s current state, that opening a new boutique-style hotel and lounge in a city already flooded with them would be a risky move — particularly when said hotel is a few blocks off the beaten path. But I really hope they succeed. I think the key will be to keep prices reasonable… if this bar gets cocky and caves in to the«$ 10-cocktails-in-plastic-dixie-cups» trend that pervades downtown, people will jump ship back to Gaslamp in a heartbeat. So Phi Terrace, if you’re reading this — don’t do it!
