Penasquitos Ranch House

We had our wedding and reception here at the Ranch House. As a wedding venue, they are a great value. The park rangers are easy to work with, and will accommodate almost anything that doesn’t damage the ranch house or grounds. The ranch house site has a wide variety of great photo opportunities, and several ceremony and reception locations. They do not provide any rentals (tables, chairs), but they will clean the restrooms and trash cans as needs throughout the event. And you can’t beat the price!

I like visiting old historic places. I’ve always been fascinated with the old American west. We came to check this place out and i was disappointed. It was very beautiful. There is a stream right next to the property and i just imagine how the people used to live here. Its close to my home so ill keep coming here. They also do weddings for good prices.

I would have never known if I didn’t see it myself, but this place has a lot to offer the community. «The Ranch House» is a piece of San Diego’s History and offers tour, a community garden and a chicken and goat co-op…ok I’ll explain what that is…
For only $ 10.00 a month, you can lease a large garden box that comes with soil and water. All you have to do is bring your plants and you can grow them here. As my son and I toured the community garden, we saw well taken care of vegis, fruits and flowers. All enclosed by protected chicken wire and a lock that you provide to your very own garden box. We signed up with the park ranger and are eagerly awaiting our spot.
The chicken and goat co-​op gives people chances to take care of the animals by feeding them, cleaning up after them and hanging out with them. How cool huh. I’m not sure what the cost of this is… it’s probably free. Just ask the ranger.

My brother had his wedding here last weekend!
–Beautiful, historic venue
–Kitchen area where you can store items
–Two bathrooms (recommend renting a outhouse if you need are having an event here though… just in case)
–House is very cool and allows for a place for the bride and her group to get ready
–Love the water fountain area where we had the reception
–Love the open field area where we had the ceremony (everyone was facing the field)
–Parking was convenient and pretty close
–Ranger Staff were very friendly and so accommodating!!!
–Enough outlets and water areas for our vendors
–They had fun areas for photo opportunities (Ranch House, field, cacti, barn, etc.)
–This is a great outdoor location that you can transform to make even more magical
–Love that there are hiking areas and sports field nearby
–Very reasonable price to rent this location
–Allowed us to use some picnic benches and other benches for the event (even helped us move them)
–Note: since this is a public place you may have people walk by (or through) your event (just warning you)
Great place for a wedding or party… just need to bring everything in which can be tough (tables, chairs, etc.)
