Park Place Cafe

This café a lil gem. I eat here when I want something quick, healthy and not too expensive. They have some interesting combos of ingredients for sandwiches and some nice vegan, gluten free options as well. The quality of meats is excellent and they have typical café stuff in regards to coffee… I like their posted question of the day… Get it right and u win a free coffee. Fun!

Nice small café with a very good selection on the menu. We tried the breakfast sandwich with ham which was excellent and the breakfast burrito which was very good. Good coffee too and lots of snacks. Staff very friendly too. Would come back!

First time to this place. Customer is excellent. Food is delicious. The best BLT that I have ever had. The naan must stay sandwich that my daughter had was delicious also.

Bagels are so delicious and their drink called Bundeaberg is amazing!!! I added a pic, honestly best beverage in the world!

Great coffee, fantastic coconut donuts, and really great genuine good service. My husband and I are in San Diego for a quick anniversary trip and after ordering our coffee here the gentleman at the desk asked if we lived locally and I explained were in town for our anniversary. He gave us our coffee and we sat down and he brought out a delicious fluffy coconut donut with chocolate and whipped cream as a treat to say happy anniversary. What a small but kind and meaningful gesture. Really went a long way and made an impression. We will definitely be back.

I just moved in next door and decided to check out the place. It’s a small joint, but has everything– including great customer service. The mocha I order was great– but Jeremy went to extra step and made sure I was happy. His co-​worker brought me my drink rather than barking it across the café. I’ll def be back.

I come in here for a coffee now and then and always find it to be a pleasant atmosphere but today on my lunch break, I came in for a warm sandwich.
The owner was there and he was so kind when I explained my craving and he made my special order exactly the way I wanted. I’m sick and the owner was so sweet as to offer me tea and he gave me a treat on his way out.
That’s true hospitality and why we support local business! Coffee is good, atmosphere is quaint and clean and I’m a fan!

Good for breakfast but bad service from all 3 that were working there, first time I see rude people in San Diego was at this place, even my wife didn’t like that. Mocha was good but the Latte was ok. This was close to our hotel so we wanted to try it but not going back again.

Park Place café is the best coffee shop downtown. They make the best iced Vietnamese coffees and the most delicious vanilla lattes. Not to mention their food menu is so bomb. I’d eat a Magic Bus (chia seed, yogurt, fruit parfait) every single day if I could. I work downtown and I’d rather walk past 3 other coffee shops including a Starbucks to get their coffee and café food. x10

I was house sitting down town for a couple days so I thought I would walk down to some little café and get some work done on my computer. I came across this place on my search and it was a cute little find right down the street so I thought I would try it! The inside café is very small with two or three tall tables with room for about two people maybe. The selections on the menu seemed interesting but nothing that jumped out at me and their pastries looked slim (bagels left only) so I decided to pass on food but I tried the iced coffee out. The iced coffee was good, nothing spectacular and decently priced. I sat outside on the patio with a lovely view of the city and enjoyed the outside ambiance. Unfortunately, there were no outlets outside so my computer work was very seldom but I very much enjoyed sitting outside and sipping on my coffee. Probably wouldn’t come back due to the menu selection (well, maybe once more to try the magic school bus) and the lack of seating/​outlets but I would try it out for yourself before turning it down. Came the first time because we had a coupon. What a find! I’m giving the place 5 stars, EVEN THOUGH there was a bit of a wait between ordering and receiving our food.
But when the food arrives, I forgot I waited! SO GOOD! We have never been disappointed by the food we order, Just Wow.
Husband ordered the Pile Up, I ordered the Nasn-​Must-​Stay. There are two veggie sandwich offerings, and the one I picked should be the best seller. We’ve also tried breakfast items and coffee that is tasty.

I absolutely love this place! The coffee is great, jalapeño bagel and cream cheese is to die for.
All the staff is very friendly with ongoing customers interaction via fun trivia board and which artist do you like best.(show by your tip in either jar)
I love the covered patio that you can actually have a cigarette with your coffee on.

I have stopped by this place twice in 3 weeks to try the egg white sandwich with turkey bacon. They have been out of turkey bacon each time, and this is the draw for me. I am tired of eating the same institutional quality egg white hockey pucks at Starbucks (I am on a calorie restricted diet, so a new option was exciting). Is there a turkey bacon shortage???
I have never eaten at this place because they can’t make the sandwich they prominently advertise on their store front. If you can’t make the advertised sandwich, you should stop advertising it on your storefront until you can! I don’t think I am going to try to visit you guys again. So disappointing.

Came here with my 10 year old son. Small casual place with few tables outside and couple of tables inside. We ordered breakfast burrito which was very yummy and enough for both of us to split. I got drip coffee which was really good and my son had loose leaf lemon green tea with honey. It was very satisfying breakfast for a reasonable price. Recommend for quick bite to eat.

Having this so close to my work is absolutely amazing! Ive gotten the big rig sandwich 2x and its delish! Its big enough for bfast & lunch! Service is friendly and efficient. Pretty sure i’m going to be a regular here!

I started visiting because of the amazing location. Kept coming because of the great people and trivia, now I can’t stop going because I’m hopelessly addicted to their Bitchin Camaro’s (peanut butter chocolate espresso smoothie…)

I went into this coffee shop for the first time this morning on a whim and had a WONDERFUL experience. I ordered a café au lait with the dark roast along with a jalapeño cheese bagel/​cream cheese.
First off, you receive a discount if you live or work downtown. The service was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. SO personable. Once I got everything I ordered and turned around another man that worked there handed me three donut holes, for free! (Thanks, again!)
They’re home of the one dollar coffee and they stress that that will never change! They make their own dressings and such, they even make their own coconut milk. They have a big food menu that doesn’t consist of only quick breakfast bites, although they do have bagels, croissants, and such for those grab-​n-​go occasions.
The other day I had walked by the café (before I had ever gone in there) and I overheard them saying they were having a special thing for their regulars. They really appreciate their customers and seem to be happy to go the extra mile. Granted, this was only my first visit but I plan to come back plenty more.
Thanks Park Place Café! You seem to be a wonderful gem in the Gaslamp.

Walking around the gaslamp quarter in the morning as tourists Unilocaling for a breakfast spot, and we came upon park place café. Cute and small café, very friendly service! Felt very welcome here. Both of us got the Big Rig, I’m not a big roast beef person but this was absolutely delicious! Great fresh food, simple friendly service and Good prices. A+

Casual place for a downtown lunch with yummy sandwiches, good prices, and friendly service. So friendly, in fact, that we were offered free donut holes while we waited for our food. Then, we were brought out a special treat of a warm donut topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup. It’s like they were reading our minds and knew we wanted to satisfy our sweet tooth!
Will be back next time I need to pick up a quick lunch or sit outside on a nice day. Enjoyed the laid-​back, neighborhood-​y feel of the place.
