Soda Machine: I purchased a large drink and wanted Pepsi from the machine. Carbonation had gone, so I asked the cashier if we can get someone to fix it. She mentioned that it’d take about two minutes to get someone. I understood that they were busy, so I waited for about five minutes without success. I went ahead and filled my cup with a different brand. The problem was that she claimed help would be available around two minutes instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and that she’d try to get someone to look at it as soon as possible. Instead, I stood near the dispenser and in the way of customers trying to get their utensils and drinks. The cashier didn’t bother to keep me informed, or continued to at least apologize for the long wait. She watched me get another drink and walk out and didn’t attempt to provide a resolution to my problem or even an apology. Legend Icons on Food Items: I cannot eat spicy food and I wanted to get the Original Orange Chicken, which I got. I didn’t realize, until someone else from my party, requested another item that’s spicy and had the spicy logo. This person asked me why I was getting a spicy item and I replied that I didn’t and she pointed at the menu of the Original Orange Chicken and had the spicy logo on it. I took my chances with the Orange Chicken and it wasn’t spicy at all. The problem, incorrect spicy logos on food items. I may get a food item that didn’t have the spicy logo and it turns out being spicy. If one food item is mislabeled, how confident can I be with the other food items logo identifications, whether labeled or not? I would not be at all confident and will end up going to another restaurant. Hair Found: One of the people I was with found hair cooked into one of the meat they were eating. They pushed it off to the side of their plate. I don’t recall and can’t confirm if the people working there were wearing hair covers, but finding human hair cooked with the meat being consumed is not healthy and may pose a health risk. I’m disappointed at the customer service, the information provided about the food items and the health and safety standards of a labeled«A» rated Panda Express restaurant. I will not eat at that location again.

Food was decent but NEIL bitch ass needs to be in back(away from customers) or fired. He should not be the first person we get to speak with. He’s very rude and inpatient. I had to repeat myself 3 times because he wasn’t listening just talking. Screaming sides, sides, sides is not ok!

I’ve definitely been to better Panda Express locations in the past. Its a really small location in the Fashion Valley Mall food court with nice outdoor seating. The inside is pretty clean, but the food area is really small; all items are in stock but not really well stocked or well displayed. The service was pleasant, I was welcomed and offered a sample right away, but it was really rushed and impersonal. I guess they’re used to people being in a hurry, but there was no one in line behind me. At the register, the second server threw everything hastily in my bag and while I was offered soy sauce, I wasn’t offered chopsticks or cutlery which I usually am. The cashier was really nice though, thanked with a smile though. The drinks are self-serve which is good and they have LifeWater Pomegranate flavour which was different than most places. They didn’t have pepper which I’ve come to find that most all locations can get you some from the back. My kids meal, instead of ½ vegetables and ½ broccoli beef was was 2⁄3 vegetables and 1⁄3 broccoli beef… BUT there were only three tiny pieces of beef in the whole box(see photo). When I brought it to the cashier’s attention, asking her to maybe let the manager know for next time(cause the serving dish had tons of beef it just seems they were careless in portioning it out) she kind of didn’t get my point. Anyway, she then offered me an extra side box which she filled almost half with beef and a few veggies and apologized. I was pleasantly surprised by this; I just hope that they are more careful in the future and this doesn’t happen to someone else who won’t realize it(if they leave and can’t come back). The vegetables were perfectly cooked, nice and crisp and fresh, especially the broccoli. But the beef was kind of gummy and the sauce really runny and bland. Nowhere near as good as I’ve come to expect. My sample of pepper chicken was really good though. Also, the kid’s meal was $ 5.30 where its $ 5 at all other locations I’ve been to. While they were nice and made up for some of their shortcomings, the cons outweigh the pros of this particular location and I’m not sure I’d go back.

Service sucked. They were rude, 20 minutes prior to closing and they had nothing fresh. Then got snippy with me when I wanted to wasn’t on my friend who was part of my order. Will not come back.

Mediocre food and smaller portions than I’ve gotten at other Panda Express locations. They rush you when you order and help others that were in line behind you. Eh on the customer service. The cashier got snippy when I asked for a fortune cookie. Thought those came with the meal? Stars for convenience but won’t return again.

I am not going to lie, I am not a fan of Panda Express.(I miss Chinese food on the east coast, so I am a little bias) Therefore, I am not going to review the food for this business, because I don’t like it, but my daughter does, so this is where we went for dinner one night. The place was chaotic and disorganized. The employees appeared to have no idea what they were doing. They seemed scatter brained Panda Express appears to be popular, so you would think they had to run like a well oiled machine, but they don’t. I ordered the veggies, they didn’t have them ready. I wanted to try the walnut shrimp, again, not ready. I am sorry, but when you know you are getting down to the last bit of something, have more ready to go. Don’t wait until the last minute to do it and then hold up the line. So they took my container and wrote my order on it and placed it the back. While I was waiting a gentleman butt in front of me to tell the people they got his order wrong. No one told him to wait or refer him to a manager. They addressed his confusing issue, held up the ever growing line, and just wound up giving him more food.(I say confusing issue, because that is the look they had on their faces… confusion) At one point they went to give him my empty container waiting to have MY food placed in it! LOL Finally we got the food, mind you 10 – 15 mins have passed and it took an additional 5 minutes because the cashier didn’t know how to ring up the food and then the card reader wouldn’t read my card. Rather they hit the numbers in manually, we stood there while they ran my card, up/down, flipped and in a plastic bag two dozen times. Seriously. My daughter, who I said likes Panda Express, has vowed not to go back to this one.

Chicken was hardly warm, service bad. No chopsticks or napkins in bag, and no one told me they were around the corner so I had to walk back from the food court to get them. Just thought they would include them since they put my box in a plastic bag. Also the employee got me the wrong type of order, wanted a kids meal but got a panda bowl with a sad amount of chicken! They didn’t even ask which type of dish(kids meal, bowl, etc) I wanted. Felt like a waste to pay over six bucks for a box full of white rice and a small portion of stale orange chicken… Maybe I should’ve gotten chow mien? :p

First of all let me say that the employees here on black Friday can use some help on how to provide better customer service and also don’t understand why open if you don’t have all your food in stock for the customer to order… Tried to order tyriyaki chicken they didn’t have and also they didn’t have the Beijing beef so had to get things that I didn’t want with no remorse from anyone sad to say I won’t be coming back here

WOW… horrible customer service! This place deserves zero stars!!! Can’t believe how their manager SHAWN treats customers at this Panda Express!!! Please read Kat’s post below and see how she was treated! I will not eat at another Panda Express until they apologize to Katherine! Stop hiring incompetent managers like Shawn to represent Panda Express!!!

I tried posting the attached review to Panda Express’s corporate page, but it was quickly hidden from public view. Perhaps the use of profanity offended them, which is ironic considering I was just quoting THEIR employee! The story is this: I was at the Fashion Valley mall in San Diego with my two babies(1&2 years old) who were both hungry and therefore cranky. The line was literally out the door and I was waiting as patiently as possible to receive my food/service, while my littlest cried/whined impatiently and my oldest kept asking ‘mama’ for ‘Panda’. When I came up to the front, the store manager, in a blue shirt with a tag saying«SHAWN», looked annoyed over at his coworker and said in a loud voice, loud enough to hear over the hustle, «SOMEONESHUTTHOSE F***KINGKIDSUP». Of course I was angered, upset, and worst of all, humiliated. I asked him if he was serious, and he nervously laughed and tried to say it was a joke, then asked me for my order(the other employee was already serving me). I asked him if I could speak to his manager and he shamefully admitted he was it. I did not receive an apology, and despite me saying to him that I should not be expected to pay for my meal after that sort of customer service, still had to pay for my meals. The cashier was kind and sympathetic, as was a woman in line behind me, but I left shaking and in tears. I don’t know why it shook me up so much — perhaps because I was by myself and know this will be the first of many of these experiences handling my two young babes on my own, but NOONE should EVER be treated this way, regardless of the circumstances!!! If he could see I was obviously already overwhelmed with my two kids that are quite obviously very close in age, what possesses A MANAGER of all people to say such a thing, joking or not?!? There’s a little thing called tact, and respect, both of which that manager needs to learn. Shawn has another thing coming!

Today’s food looked and tasted fresh. It really just varies at every location. A couple downsides, if you’re going to put a sign out that says ‘you ask, we wok,’ please make sure the ingredients are in the back. I wanted eggplant tofu yet they had no eggplant! I was very much teased. Plus, my bf asked for BBQ pork and the person serving us said the only pork they have is the bacon added to the orange chicken. My bf even looked it up and Panda Express does offer that. I guess the annoying part was that the server looked at us as if we asked for something so far fetched. Anyways, it’s always a hit or miss at any Panda. But I sure do like their food.

Today’s pick of the Day was Shanghai Angus Mushroom Steak. It’s the bomb! Especially when loaded with extra mushrooms. My plate was made fresh to order, and was still steaming when I brought it back to work 15 min later. At this location they are always friendly and quick to offer a tasty sample! Good job :) Sandra was very helpful and pleasant when checking me out.

Came here for the signature dish, the Orange Chicken. Everything was picked over, it was a Friday night, and they refused to make more. Customer service was poor. Wouldn’t offer any accommodation, just told people to deal with it. Lots of people left disappointed, including us. Terrible Panda Express. Wasted a drive here for nothing.

This location is not up to par with the others around the nation. The service is slow and the staff is kind of rude. I found a spider in my food and had to throw the entire entee away.

Ok, lets be honest, if we’re looking for authentic Mexican, do we go to taco bell or Chevy’s? Of course not, its Americanized, so now that that’s out of the way, I have never been treated as great as I have been in this mall. The ppl at panda express were informative and helpful w a smile, I think that’s awesome. I saw this delicious beefy stuff, she gave me a taste, man was it yummy, shanghai angus steak. Big huge(yes redundant) chunks of juicy tender steak with onions and asparagus, wow, I’ve been to really nice restaurants that over took asparagus, it was perfectly crisp, it was an extra buck to choose it for my combo, but WORTHIT! I of course got the orange chicken that we know and love, but if i had it to do again, i would have gone all steak on it cuz it left me wanting more:-D since i don’t eat at panda express but once a year… maybe, i was unfamiliar w their sizing conventions and ended up w a «large» Pepsi that has to be 40 oz, but since i LOVE Pepsi, it was a happy surprise.

It’s alright. Even though the food is not at all authentic Chinese, I still ate here because I was hungry and the line was shorter. I got the rice and orange chicken. It served its purpose in filling up my stomach at the expense of about $ 7. There isn’t too much more that I could add. Three stars is as high as I will go.

Best panda express I’ve been to in San Diego. I recommend it. Do not go to the Carmel mountain or Mira Mesa location. Friars Rd Panda keeps their fried rice fresh and there are never hard pieces. Their chow mein isn’t super greasy
