I love the Carne Asada Burrito here. The thing that surprised me is they are a Mexican restaurant and serve a delicious hamburger! One of the best I have had in a long time. Everything always tastes fresh here and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Great place!

Oh man, get the breakfast burritos! We stopped by to try this place and they have a drive through. We got the steak and egg burrito, and it was not disappointing. It was full of eggs and meat. Sure it was a bit pricey($ 7.50) but they probably had more than 3 scramble eggs in there… And seriously plenty of steak pieces, like real thick steak pieces and not that flat carne asada meat. It was a bit plain, but I thought that was good because you were able to put their salsa and it wasn’t extremely salty… Good for your blood pressure. We’re going to try the chorizo and egg burrito next time! Delicious.

This place wins my heart with the drive-thru option! Yes, it’s a bit on the slow side but it’s all worth it. In my opinion the best chorizo burrito in SD(out of all the ‘Bertos places). I like their salsas with just the right amount of kick to them. Not many places offer molletes and here I can get the traditional with the beans and cheese and the sweet one that my grandma used to make: butter, cinnamon and sugar!!! Don’t even get me started on the roasted corn, oh my goodness gracious!!! I might just have to hop in the car right now because my mouth is watering just thinking about it. It’s roasted to perfection and comes with all the condiments. You should also try their picadillo and chorizo empanadas, the Birria tacos and the TJ hotdog. You are welcome! And if you still have room … Do it get dessert.

The service here is exelent and the food is very delicious, my wife and I walked in for the first time and the team members made us feel right at home … The food is beyond over the top Mexican food, my wife and I STRONGLYRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOEVERYONE who loves good tasting authentic Mexican food … Not to mention the price, you definitely get more than your money’s worth they also have a drive through for your convenience, or you can come in and sit down nice and cozy like and feel as if you’re having a home cooked meal because that is how the whole team there make you feel… The highest compliments to the cook for creating such delicious food just the way I would make it at home. Thanks..

Great surprise. I made the horrible assumption that this place is primarily a bakery, so I never bothered. I finally discovered the do a decent amount o Mexican dishes so I had to try. Got the birria and regretting I didn’t order an empenada. The birria comes out on a tray with limes, radishes, onions, cilantro and hot salsa. The bowl had a dark rich red hue, with big chunks of beef. The broth was basic but delicious. Minimal oil in it and rich clean flavors. The beef was generous and was buttery stew meat from being cooked just right. The salsa is powerful. Carefully stirring in small dabs and testing to get the right heat. Great food at reasonable prices. This is still considered a new place, but should already have much more business than what they’re getting. Give them a try and spread the word.

We’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened however we were very disappointed we got 2 lentil soups because they were out of the birria, 3 very tiny el pastor tacos and a bacon wrapped hot dog. We waited for our food in the drive through for 15 minutes and we were the only customers there. The soup was so blan and had no flavor tasted like water bean soup. Canned lentil soup is way better than this crap. I hope their baked goods are far better than the food we had. needless to say we won’t be back! this was truly disappointing and over priced

I feel like they could have put more food on the plate for the price we paid. Also, considering it reads«bakery» on the business, I was really disappointed to learn that they DON’T BAKETHEIRGOODSTHERE. They have all the pastries DELIVERED from another location. #NotFreshOuttaTheOven

I do like the limited — kinda thrown together menus but there are the down sides. 1. if you add beans and rice to a burrito be prepared to pay 3.00 — Any one heard of a conga burrito it is simply meat rice and beans should not be 9.00(here it is) 2. Oatmeal takes about 7 – 10 minutes(also the consistency is not consistent) you get either great oatmeal nice and thick or super watery and unflavorful 3. Peruvian chicken plate has to be half of a half of a chicken breast but still plan to pay 10.00 for it. Portion sizes are very inconsistent and it is hard to know what you will get. i.e. the quesadilla is HUGE! it can feed to small toddlers but you wouldn’t know that judging on the sizes of other items. A bit more thought in menu prices and portion control would be helpful.

I called and spoke to a manager by the name of Ernie who kindly apologized and sided with me on everything, what a relief. Offered me a free breakfast plate for next time. We’ll see how my next visit goes!

This place is close to one of my job locations and i make it a tradition to stop by when im in the area lol The empanadas are my absolute favorite!!! Papas con chorizo! Um 2 please! And the carne asada quesadilla is like whoa! Incredible oozy cheesy goodness. The coffee is good too but i usually like powder creamer versus the lil tiny creamer cups…(personal preference) The pan is good too, super moist and decadent. You cant go wrong with fresh flaky empanadas early in the morning with a nice hot cup of organic coffee, so if you are in North Park stop by or head on via drive thru!!! Guarantees you will have a great morning

My order was simple: 1. chorizo and potato empanada — filling and flaky 2. rice — tasty, but no unlike rice at other taco shops 3. cheese enchilada — lots of cheese and best eaten doused in salsa/hot sauce Total cost around $ 8. I will definitely return for the emapanadas, they have a few to choose from. I haven’t been inside yet, just went for the drive thru. I’ll have to try more off the menu, but my meal hit the spot.

Wow! First time here for 2 tasty Mexican pastries and breakfasts for under $ 13! I love how they even accommodated my vegan special order. Lots of other choices for lunch or dinner too.

Disappointed!!! I was so excited about trying this place but was let down. Pricing is more expensive and different than the menu posted here on Unilocal.Bought 2 fish tacos of the day and ceviche for lunch. Very expensive for what you get($ 17). The ceviche was not fresh and super watery. I also only got about 5 stale chips with the ceviche. I could not even eat the tacos as they fell apart as soon as I picked it up, had to eat them with a fork and as for the taste, the fish was hard and the tacos them selves were bland.

I was craving some soup, so I was very pleased to learn that this new Panchita location makes a variety, but different ones each day. I could sign of freshness. In this day, I had the Beef Birria with broth that came along with corn tortillas and fresh chopped onions, cilantro, radishes, lime wedges, and some house salsa for $ 6.50. The beef birria was quite. The chunks of meat were very tender with a bit of a little to much fat attached to them, but its flavor very good. The broth was flavor full and quite rich from the meat it had stewed. It was also well seasoned and arrived piping hot. After adding the side ingredients with a touch lime juice as well, I was set to go, and brought memories of the beef birria I have encounter in inner Mexico. Although, I did think the soup needed more beef, I was able to use it to make savory beef birria tacos, where I topped them with the side ingredients, including some of their tasty salsa. The corn tortillas were very good and they came wrapped in foil to keep them warm. For kicks, I tried the empenada con calabaza or pumpkin. The empenada was made from wheat and came filled with a soft pumpkin purée. The wheat breading of the empenada was moist and had a very mild wheat flavor. The pumpkin was a little sweet with a good pumpkin flavor. It was a little stringy in areas, but smooth for the moist part. I hear they make some pretty taco and burritos too, in addition to the great pan dulce they are known to bake.

I had high hopes for this place. My family has been going to their panadería location in Golden Hills for years. I’ve been here 4 times and only twice did I actually leave with any food or coffee. First time was second day after they first opened, I ordered a breakfast burrito & coffee. The breakfast burrito was delicious, the coffee decent. Second time, I ordered a bacon, eggs, & beans mollete & iced coffee. The toppings were good, but the bolillo it was served on top of, seemed like it was warmed up in a microwave — a toaster oven would have been a better choice. With that being said it was still good. As for the iced coffee, more like regular«hot» coffee poured over ice. So basically the iced coffee was watered down. But to their credit, coffee is not their specialty. Tip, if you are not in a rush just pick up a cup of joe at SB down the street! Last 2 visits this past week: I went in when they first open in the am; they didn’t have much of a selection. I left with nothing. Here’s a thought, if you open at 5:30am, you should be prepared. Last visit, just like before, went in the next day early in the am before work. The door unlocked as I expected it to be because the hours are 5:30am to 9:30pm(or so I thought). But the minute I walked in, I got weird looks from the staff inside and was told they are closed, not opened yet. I was like huh?? Don’t you open at 5:30am anymore? Well no apparently not, they now open at 6am(update your hours pls). GRRRR! Okaaaay, I left, drove down the street to SB, and looked at my phone to see the time, it was 5:58am(SMH)!! Needless to say, I won’t be back in the morning. It looks like they still have a lot of work to do with being prepared in the morning. But I do want to give them another chance, perhaps during the evening hours would be much better. BTW, pan dulce IS way over priced!

Really like Panchita’s Still working out the kinks on Day 2 of this location. Pan dulce selection is very good. Ordering was a little tricky since I don’t know the names of the pastries and couldn’t tell what was in the empanada ones but I just pointed out the ones that I wanted. The Empanada de Manzana and Empanda de Calabasa were very good — not too sweet. Tried a cream cheese puff pastry-like item from the case. Good but would rather go back for the apple empanada. Coffee was good. Didn’t get a chance to try any of the hot food options due to time but will give it a try next time. Atmosphere is bright, cheery, and clean. Looking forward to coming early on the weekend and sitting on the porch.
