Orton Endodontics

Dr Orton and his staff are wonderful!!! Dr Orton and is very thorough and even though he prescribed an antibiotic prescription, it was never filled. I had no pain during the procedure and even after the numbness wore off, there was very minor discomfort. it did not even warrant ibuprofen! The best experience one can have for a root canal procedure!

I was referred to Dr. Orton after my dentist saw an infection underneath a tooth that already had a root canal and crown. Dr. Orton, basically re-​did the root canal. I was numb of course, but not knowing, wondered how much pain I would be feeing after. Dr. Orton gave me 2 prescriptions, neither of which I filled. After the numbness wore off, I had NO PAIN AT ALL! NONE! Needless to say I was one happy camper! You’d never know you were in a dentist office, it’s more like being in a Tuscan Villa, very nicely done, top notch! Dr. Orton and his staff were wonderful…

If I could give Dr. Orton and his staff 10 stars, I would.
I came here after 6 months of dealing with horrible dentists and endodontists. My dentist had tried 9 times to give me a root canal on a tooth (he also ended up leaving string inside my gums), and a year later, that same tooth was in pain. I went to La Jolla Dental Specialty Group, and an endo there said the pain was coming from another tooth, and decided to give me another root canal. Few months later, the original tooth was still in pain.
My La Jolla endo told me I just needed to be on a smoothie diet for a month (!!!) to let the pain subside, and would send me home when I came in pain… even when the temporary filling fell out he said he didn’t have time to re-​fill it and to just keep drinking smoothies. I was in so much pain and didn’t know who to trust.
I went to a new dentist and got a second opinion from another endodontist who told me I should just pull the original tooth out — without much explanation or examination. It just didn’t feel right.
After getting several opinions, I felt Dr. Orton was the most thorough, he spent time trying to properly diagnose the problem before doing any kind of procedure. Turned out the original tooth I had an issue with had an extra canal that was never treated by my first dentist — and Dr. Orton was able to treat it in one visit, and saved my tooth!
The next day his staff member called to follow up with me — I felt so relieved and well taken care of.
I’ve been raving about Dr. Orton since my procedure this summer… I’m so glad I decided to leave La Jolla Dental Specialty group to find this office. Thank you so much for taking the time and care to save my teeth!

I was reffered to him by my dentist for a root canal. They have a very nice office. Superb office staff. He made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I felt relaxed. If you need a root canal done, this is the place to go.
