Operation Samahan Community Health Centers, Rancho Penasquitos

This is the worst clinic I have ever been to.
This clinic was assigned to me by Covered California. I called today for the first time because my throat hurts so bad that I cannot swallow my own spit, let alone food or water. The receptionist told me that the cutoff for walk-​ins is 3pm. I was in Orange County at the time and drove all the way down to make it before the cut off. I walked in to the office at 2:50, and they were very short and rude with me. They did not honor what they had said previously about the 3pm cut off, told me they were full booked and sent me on my way.

This is a tiny office with no privacy. I saw Dr. Esperanza, and he didn’t even greet me upon entering the room but went straight to the computer to pull up my chart. The offices are tiny, the size of a bathroom, barely enough room for a bed and a computer. I overheard everything that was being said in the adjacent office about the man’s drinking history. This office made me feel inferior and sad for the state of my insurance.

This is probably the worst health clinic I have ever been to. The doctor has the worst bedside manners, and has no respect for his patients. I saw Dr. Esperanza three times, all of which he failed to address my actual problem. For my last visit I decided to ask him for a referral to a specialist since he could not figure out my problem was., He was running late on that day, and I waited almost an hour from my scheduled time to be seen by him. He finally saw me toward the end of office hours, and when I asked for the referral, he proceeded to tell me, «I do not have the time to hear all your complaints.» Despite being the one running late and the fact that I had wait an hour from my appointment, he never once apologized for the delay nor addressed my health concerns. I honestly don’t know why a person like him can call himself a doctor. Avoid this place if you can.
