Low quality food. Everything straight off a Sysco truck. Not recommended.

Terrible food, waitress refused to send it back or take it off our bill. Will not be back and couldn’t recommend the place at all.

Was lured in by the glowing ramen beacon– pleasantly surprised by piping hot Korean style ramen + veggies + pork. Super clean and super friendly service– somehow the Kims created a 70s diner crossed with a winter cabin ambience, I think, without trying. Will return for more ramen or maybe some classic diner grub.

Nice neighborhood friendly family restaurant. Serving american classics and breakfast every morning. They need to not serve ramen though, stick with what u got.

First time here… Server was excellent and gave perfect recommendations. Navy bean soup and meatloaf was outstanding! Will definitely be back!

My favorite breakfast spot in North Park. I always get a cup of coffee with French toast eggs and sausage. Whether I go with family in a large group with friends or just solo, service is quick and food always taste the same. Really enjoy this place and find it to be a gem of the neighborhood.

I did not have a good experience at the Old Mill Café this evening. First there was only one server and it took us twice as long to get some service. Then I ordered an omelette which only had a «skimpy» piece of cheese on the outside and there was not any cheese on the inside. The final«straw» was when my date ordered the special(which is suppose to come with a dessert) and they did not honor that. I will never patronize this establishment again.

WOW. Sunday morning before the Chargers game we found this place through our Lyft driver and it was awesome. For brunch on a Sunday there was NO wait, and we were greeted with the remote to put on the 10am football game and a mimosa(or 4 lol). I wish I remembered our servers name, because she was great. There is nothing I wanted more than a breakfast burrito, and they didn’t have it on the menu… she talked to the chef and I had the best breakfast burrito ever! It really is a true gem, and anytime I am back in SD I know where I am going

Come primarily for breakfast, or a sandwich or a variety of burgers and avoid the wait at the trendier places on and around Univeristy Avenue. It’s a coffee shop, with tables, booths, and counter. Our party of seven was seated immediately at 10:30am on a holiday. Bonus: there is a parking lot to boot. My chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese sans bread was what I was in the mood for and though a bit oversalted, I liked it that way. There are a lot of sides from which to choose — fries, potato salad, cole slaw, slided tomatoes, and cottage cheese. Maybe more? Experienced wait person took care of us — she was quite busy, though nice enough and efficient and happy to split checks. Beer and wine available.

Santa Fe omelette had almost no chilies inside. Basically eggs with Pepper Jack and avocado on top. Bland. Fried potatoes looked good but were raw, hard, and also bland. No spice at all. Needed rosemary, season salt, or something. Biscuit was awful. Looked soggy on the bottom but was actually super hard. Ample parking was just about the only plus. Won’t be back.

I’m gonna go ahead and bump them up to 4 stars just because of how often we go here. This is my friends and my default hangover location if we just want a greasy, delicious, and low key breakfast without paying too much. All the stuff here I’ve tried is pretty standard diner quality food, my favorite being their raisin bran French toast. Never ceases to satisfy. I’ve moved away now so I gotta find myself a new Old Mill.

I like this place, and it deserves 3 stars. The Old Mill Café provides typical diner fare, including breakfast all day. It is relatively inexpensive and a good place for groups. The service is good. The food isn’t anything special, nor is the décor. The steaks come either well done or practically raw, so be prepared. I wouldn’t take a date here, but it is a place to go with friends for relatively cheap, edible food.

I went to Old Mill yesterday for the first time & it was great! I ordered the Sunday special — after 11am for $ 11.99 you get turkey dinner which included a warm whole wheat roll, soup or salad —(I ordered the split pea soup), homemade mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green beans, drink & dessert. I grew up in NJ which has numerous diners & my food was very tasty, hot and I had plenty of leftovers. My waitress provided excellent customer service! I’ll definitely return.

Not overly impressed. A little bit of a musty Oder as we entered. Smelled of water damage. The food was just ok, nothing really wowed us. The biscuits and gravy were really bland and needed a bit of salt and pepper. Service was nothing to brag about either. Won’t be returning.

Very disappointed with their menu, Their breakfast special was removed and their breakfast menu is not very good, my wife and I ordered 2 eggs 2 small strips of bacon coffee and a couple pancakes and the bill was over $ 25.00. Plus tip almost $ 30 bucks, do the math. We used to love going there, but prices and service even Dennys is better.

So I really wanted a slice of pie and a cup of coffee and I remembered this little greasy spoon. I’d never ordered a meal there so I got a cheeseburger to go for my late supper and enjoyed my pie while there. When I got home I opened up my take home box and found the best cheddar bacon burger I’ve had in years! It was good sized and the waitress placed the tomato and lettuce on the side so it wouldn’t get soggy. So delish!

I like the Old Mill Café! I usually only come here for breakfast and I’m never disappointed. Going to have to try lunch or dinner sometime and see if it’s just as good. I got a tradional breakfast: eggs, bacon, biscuit, hasbrowns, and coffee. My friend got eggs with pork chops. The pork chops were awesome and two good sized ones! Definitely might try steak and eggs next time after seeing that. Always can get just what I want and service was super friendly and great!

Throwback vibe. Efficient service. Hot plates. I heard this place changed names to The Lumberjack Grill in the mid 2000’s and back again when ownership changed. Although there are no forests here to harvest for the logging industry, there have been unconfirmed sightings of an ironic beard in flannel and beanie hat(possibly a messenger bag) while pedaling a fixie down the boulevard. We stopped in for a late breakfast. It wasn’t busy on a weekday morning and the lone waitress working the floor showed us to our table. She was quick about getting our order put in and bringing plates to the table with little delay. Kudos to the short order cook. The chicken fried steak is a hearty dish. Nice, quality cutlet and breading with a simple white gravy. I doctored it up because I like mine extra peppery. The breakfast permutations. Choice of hash browns or home fries. The waitress said it’s a matter of potato preference since they’re both made fresh. Hash browns for me, then scrambled eggs, and a biscuit to go with the extra gravy. A charming, low key diner under the radar putting out fresh food fast. I noticed the painted mural on the far wall of the sectioned off section of the restaurant. I also spied the bottled beverages in the fridge. Not so sure about that plastic wrapped wine carafe though.
