The Food court is amazing, but man the parking sucks. To many people who can’t drive, scared to drive or both. Also not in the best neighborhood, so you get transients and crack heads begging for money and trying to wash your windows with stinky water. The parking spots are so little and impossible to even fit a compact car in. There’s tons of foot traffic here especially because the train station is located next door. And what appeared to be a gang of scary looking individuals hanging outside of the wellsfargo bank with no shirts on in the rain. My suggestion to this place is to obtain security officers to patrol the lot or something.

Market Creek Plaza has four sides: Food 4 Less the anchor store and a small recycling center is the first side: Food 4 Less is well stocked with very good prices. The second side has a Wells Fargo Bank and a Starbucks: both are very busy most days of the week. Third side is a collection of shops: Subway, Rita’s Italian Ice, Felix BBQ Soul Food, Asia Wok, Business Matters, SDG&E and a Papa John’s Pizza. The fourth side is an entrance to the Euclid Trolley Station. Located on the back side of the plaza is an Amphitheater which features several Ethic Festivals and Concerts throughout the year. There always seems to be plenty of parking available. A diverse plaza for a diverse community.

I used Market Creek Plaza for my 1st Annual Loving Yourself Business and Community Expo, and I as well as my guest and ITWORKS Body Wraps Team loved the food, staff, and service. I would especially like to give a SPECIALTHANKS to Reggie Simpson, Sales Rep, my Event Lead, Cooks, and on site staff whom all were very helpful, courteous with our needs. Overall, I will definitely be using Market Creek for my future events. Semond Atkins

There are many businesses in the Plaza however the awesome thing about the Plaza is they hold concerts. I have been to several and although parking sometimes can be a rough time and not everyone here has the best intentions, but security is always present as well as the local police dept. I came down today to check out the new stages that they have been getting together. There should be an awesome Christmas show coming up in the meantime Verizon has now replaced the World Beat and Magnolia’s is gone being replaced by several new places.

Jazz at the Creek, outdoor movies, concerts and many other cultural festivals are held here. Great parking and good outdoor venue.

I went there on a saturday when they were having a cultural festival. I missed a few of the performances but just seeing the costumes was interesting and unique. There were a few vendors, but I paid scant attention. The most engaging booth hosted a children’s arts and crafts free for all. The little scamps were busily decorating skull masks with a variety of materials and with an even greater variety of emotions. This was sponsored by the Mingei musuem in Balboa park. The art educators were lovely, patient, and attentive to tidying up afterwards as well. I love art museums but have not ever been to the Mingei. That’s changing soon.

A group of us came here for the AMP Music Festival and to watch our friend Terry M. play. This is my first visit to the Plaza, and this place has shops, eateries and a nice amphitheater with shade! Terry played in the amphitheater and the acoustics were great! Bench-like concrete seating with the option of sitting in the grassy area if you have a blanket with you. There is spotty shade so find a good spot since after a few minutes in the sun got super warm. Getting off the freeway to get here was horrible. There was so much traffic! Quite a distance if you’re coming from North County.

We came to Market Creek for a pre-free movie screening, musical performance. This is a vibrant, busy shopping center, with a gorgeous almost brand new 2 or 3 story community center, giant hd8000 movie screen and very nice amphitheatre. There are cute niches in this place, as well, a creek running behind and small cultural houses with descriptions of origins, rimming the area entering the amphitheatre. But the amount of space, pure space for people to gather, socialize and hold events is fantastic. Definitely a must-check-out if you need event space in the central San Diego area. The only caveat is the proximity(right next door) to the Euclid Avenue trolley which, depending on your experiences and opinions, can be a negative or a positive or both. But, then again, I’m not reviewing the trolley station. ;) Minus one star for losing the famous Magnolia’s.
